Hey fellow animation fans! We just finished an animated pilot that we're trying to get picked up. Take a look on our main page and let us know what you think!
Dude, I remember this!!!!!!!!!!! holy cow, this is nostalgic. At the time when I saw it I didn't know it was a pilot for a show, I thought these were just random shorts. Do you know what that show with the cactus kid is called?
Guess Lydia wasn't really lucky after all, considering that they never did anything with her after this.
Then again, we're talking about a girl who thirty seconds into her cartoon, reveals she's so lucky she ends up throwing away pots of gold which show up under her pillow so, it's not like the cartoon was really trying to give us reason to like the character.
@onafilloy Meh, it's probably a good thing that they didn't pick it up. I mean, what more boring than a protagonist that never loses, or that has no flaws?
While the cartoon being animated incredibly well and has funny moments of it, I can see why it didn't make it. Style and pacing wise it's too similar to past cartoons, and it really hard to make a running series with a main character that always wins and gets what they want with little to none effort or conflict.
@morphississ True. They would have most likely had to focus the series on the Baxter Gang and their incredible bad luck. Lydia would get annoying after a while.
Hey, I remember seeing this! I hoped it would become a full-fledged cartoon, but I guess Grim & Evil got the most views. Maybe someday. :< Thanks for posting it! Been meaning to watch it again. :)
Actually all the design is by Arthur Filloy (including the sideways nose holes), the color is by me Ona Filloy. The medal to camp would be turning the premise into a properly structured cartoon and adding loads of gags. Still appreciate the comment.
The badger popping up is just hilarious. Why can't cartoons have this sort of cute, but dastardly style, instead of trying to be outrageous (gross, and swearing) all the time for views.
Never saw this before somehow but it seems more Nickelodeon oriented (well back then anyway) to me.

I remember how this cartoon was advertised and shown.... once? That's about it though.
I can see why they would have made a show out of it but at the same time I can see why not.

I ROFL everytime I hear the name "ol' Mr. Peevish".
And I bet she's the cause to the whole "double rainbow" ordeal. Haha.

Thanks for posting this. I voted for this show back when they had that contest on CN, and was pretty bummed when it lost to Billy & Mandy.

@BlipoutProductions Same here. I also felt pretty bummed that Foe Paws did not make it either.

Great short film. Definitely something Bob Camp shoulda done right after Spumco, and discontinue Ren & Stimpy instead.
