Glad you were wearing gear (obviously a requirement at the track). Keep that rr shiny side up and rubber side down! Can't wait to track my own 05 rr next season.
Thunderhill was a bitch for me..I did a trackday, a while back...And some dumb ass rider forgot to tighten his oil filter and dropped oil from turn 9-14...Me and six other riders went down that day. One life flighted out of the track..Glad your ok man!
obviously this guy was riding the cbr600rr with NO electronic steering damper... like wtf? he just randomly tank slaps on a straight and then flies away...
next time, i think investing in a bike with a steering damper would be highly beneficial...
dude nice fucking editing. I love the video. too bad it was of you going down. Ya i have the regular go pro, and its incredible to see what the hd can do. Im thinking about getting that hd.
Never noticed the tail/quad thing before when viewing. Must not have hit too hard as I had no bruising or quad issues. I think the groin pull happened when I rolled in the grass. I needed two crutches for 1 week and one crutch for 2 weeks. Groin pulls suck. I thought my Pit Bull stand-turned-walker was somewhat of an intelligence make-up for drilling the cone.
@deddiecbr hahaha! indeed, it was! i'd never seen such a thing in all my days of being at the track (pitbull walker, that is). i've seen lotsa people hit cones before though...
The rider is me. I got up immediately after the crash. No broken bones, pulled groin, 2 rashed fingers. My fault for hitting the cone, but I have never been at a track day where they used cone dividers on the front straight. That was my 1st session of the day (lap 7) and I was within inches of them on every proceeding lap. Clearly, I didnt think hitting them would cause the bike to flip. Oops. Bike needs about $1600 in new parts, I will be back at the track in a couple of weeks.
@deddiecbr you can see in the video where the tail section hit you in the quad...looked like major charlie-horse. watching you use your front-stand like a walker was sad and funny at the same time. :D glad you're alright, dude!
@seppes wait can you explain to me what happend with the groin tail quad something, and what it means please :) Love your vids btw, sounds very cliche or standard whatever but i really do ;)
@deddiecbr good to hear that u r ok..i just fold down like 2 days ago..my crash rails did their job..my shoulder is kinda messed up, but it is ok..u can see the video on my profile..
Sure, eventually. They are very effective. Personally tested 'em several times. ; ) The faster you're skidding down the asphalt, the faster you burn through them of course. Crashing and sliding at speed you can definitely get some burns/rash. Depends on the kind/position of the crash, type/condition of suit, etc.
How was that a bad place for a cone? They've been there before, he's the first guy I've ever seen hit them. He'd even seen where they were on the previous lap.
The shocking part was how undamaged the bike was. Assuming it was still straight it only needs levers, clip ons, pegs etc.
Curious. your bike did not have a steering stabilizer? An if so, was it electronic or manual. did you forget to tighten it up for track instead of road/street use?
@sunnyjason nah... was looking down. the cones were in a bit of an akward spot...they're not usually there. we were at an open trackday rather than a grouped day... they were right in the middle of my normal line too.
You're a fucking dope, dude. Buy a Yamaha next time? So instead of crashing from actually riding he just blows the fucking connecting rod like most other new R6's do?
@smitmag I agree - that editing sucks - gave me a headache! Seppes, just show the crash in real time and then in slow motion and let that be it... don't try and "glorify" it by editing it all weird.
Haha, wat a way to go out, a frickin cone!???"!!!!!!!?? Cold game. Id rather high side after kickin the rear out, but a cone?!!

@DKninja09 It didnt randomly tank slap. He hit the marking cones that keep people getting on the track from apexing turn 1.

Don't leathers transmit heat to the skin?
Are they that effective?
At what speed do leathers become ineffective?

@JelloBiafra44 actually, it only needed to have the right rearset bent back and it woulda been GOLDEN. levers, clip-ons...all okay.
