  • Yeah I still have it. It's a long story , but I sent it to a repair place to have that altera chip reballed, but he didn't have any luck with it, so then i bought a new circuit board on ebay and had the repair shop replace it. Now the monitor won't turn on - it just has two lights blinking indicating that it's initializing. So I don't know if it's the replacement board that is defective, or if the repair guy messed something else up.

  • too bad that monitor will be dead after one year! i challenge anyone to find an XHD3000 that has lasted two years. great monitor - until it starts strobing and dies and gateway won't do a recall or anything without us having to sue them. it's a good review, and i would have given a similar one if I had reviewed it when it first came out. but now we all know it turned out to be a lemon. you should modify your review or at least the description to reflect that.

  • @llllskywalker

My friend just got one for $65 and fixed the strobing issue. Do you still have yours?

  • too bad that monitor will be dead after one year! i challenge anyone to find an XHD3000 that has lasted two years. great monitor - until it starts strobing and dies and gateway won't do a recall or anything without us having to sue them.

  • Why can't they make these cheaper!?!?!?

I could buy three 24" 1080p monitors for less than one of these.

  • @YouHaveMetYourMaker There not as easy to make, I have 3 x 1920x1200 monitors and im upgrading to one 30 inch. Theres a big diffrence in the build of a 24 inch to a 30inch.

  • Gateway is the worst company in the entire universe.

  • Gateway sucks ass it will break down once the warranty is over, and that is a fact

  • gayway

  • hahahahha he feels smaller i fell bigger today

  • i wonder when computers will stop getting bigger and start getting smaller

  • Worst 30" monitor.

  • Will this last??

  • mine is 42 inch :P haha owned

  • @lelos14 Is that a LCD or LED or Plasma TV ?? :)) THIS IS A PC MONITOR

  • @lelos14 they don't make 42 inch PC monitors, you're just using a TV as your monitor, meaning you don't have the 2560x1600 resolution. Your pixels must be massive.

  • @lelos14 you have a hdtv that is running at 1080p or 720p ,they dont make monitor over 30"

  • @hdgamer123 nah have you seen it ? its the first 42 inch monitor, i believe a couple of universities have it right now, but yeah it was released about 7 weeks ago i believe.

  • I just ordered a samsung xl2370 23" led monitor.

  • The guy forgot to mention that after a year, just after the warranty dies, the monitor falls apart such as the strobing green lines to full screen all green scan lines. HATE YOU GATEWAY!

  • @haruko8502 strobing green lines? sounds like your graphics card is dying.

  • Display-port - I can imagine it they cant build it in...

  • gateway doesn't have customer service, don't buy a gateway product!!

  • get 2 of those and put then next to each other

on the same PC, that would be epic

  • @NilsSjoq even better. 3 in a evefinity setup. better yet, 6 monitors in an eyeinity setup

  • There has been many complaints that this monitor breaks out after a year of use dont buy it guys

  • ahhaah first 2 mins l-m-a-o

  • no display port........ which means no eyefinety...damn 3 of those would be soo damn killing

  • left Hise Own PC (: watch it its amazing good

  • By looking at the video response I can say: I don't like it.

  • Should I get a 30 inch monitor or a 24 inch?

  • uhh 30 inch duh

  • the 24 inch is most likely a 1920x1200 panel whilst the 30 inch Gateway is 2560x1600. The games you play may not run good in 2560x1600 if you are using underpowered hardware. I have two GTX 295s with the gateway monitor and I only get 30-45 fps on Crysis.

  • I have a 24 inch HannSpree. It's 1680 by 1050. I wouldn't recommend a 30 inch like this to you because of how small everything looks but it's personal preference respectively.

  • You feel smaller today ehh? Have you tried Extense? Viagra?

  • 6ms? You can get 27 inch 2ms. ;o

  • hahaha 6:07 "you get that warm fuzzy feeling getting bigger and bigger" hahahahaha, it sounded funny

  • q diantres dice

  • Why doesn't Mr. "....I'm at a loss for words.." post another review on the immediate POST WARRANTY DEATH of this piece of crap?! I can't believe how many of us have been ROBBED. Almost everyone who purchased this monitor suffered the same fate. Disgusted with Gateway.

  • People, do NOT buy this monitor, even if you can find it anywhere. It will die in one year 3 months. Read all forums on the internet, and you will see so many of us who paid thousands for this monitor, and its now worthless, as gateway won't even talk with you after the 1 year warranty. They won't even let you pay to get it fixed by them. Good luck finding someone else to fix it either. Piece of crap!

  • its not avalible anywhere and iwant it anyone know current info or links

  • I still like my own 2 Samsung T220 more... 22" 20 000:1 ... Works better then one extremely large screen..

  • haha! i have the crappiest monitor in the world acer 16 inch LCD xD

  • atleast you got a monitor.

  • i have never seen a monitor with a remote in my life...

  • that what you call a TV

  • not really thats what you call a moniter

  • That was sarcasm my friend...

  • Monitor* TV's that are bigger than this have lower resolutions. The highest res of the TVs in the market are 1920x1080 while 30 inch COMPUTER MONITORS are typically 2560x1600

  • @freddieman23 Mine has one and its 22 inch.

  • @freddieman23 The T240HD and T260HD are both primarily computer monitors with remotes.

  • @freddieman23 it's called a TV

  • @freddieman23 mine has one ^^

  • which is better

    hdmi or dual link dvi

  • HDMI is just include DVI + sound cable.

  • what is the other video where he talks about his gaming build? im curious about what he's running lols.

  • HOW MUCH!!!!

  • whoooooo comentario mexicanooo xDDDD

  • is there any 30inch(2560x1600) monitor that has faster response time than 6ms?

  • Unfortunately, I don't think so. I have 5ms on my monitor and it is perfect, even for fast paced FPS online games (as long as you have vertycal sync on) and I would "suppose" that 6ms shouldn't be a big difference.

  • Why would you need faster response time than 6ms? I just hate CS players that think it matters, because it doesn't

Human eye can't detect any difference between 15ms or 5ms. You start getting problems when you should run something over 500fps.

  • i dont think its the response time itself, but i think that they believe the response time indicates the refresh rate. Response time makes no difference to me, but if the refresh rate is 60, 75, 100, or 120, its good to know. They probably think response is the indicator.

  • no, but there is the Dell 3008WFP it also has got 6ms

  • wtf 4:42

  • weird fast forward...

  • There is only one company that sells this monitor now and it requires an in store pick up. I can't even buy this online. How frustrating.

  • Wow he has a low self asteem

  • esteem* lol

  • lol "im at a loss of words i dont know what to say....... Ok lets talk about this monitor"

  • Too bad almost every one of them broke within the first 16 months. Gateway refuses to fix them. Beautiful, but disposable. That's why they don't exist anymore. These are the three words I NEVER thought I would say: "Buy the Dell."

  • lol, I'd be going from a 19 inch to 30 inch, that would be crazy....

  • oh yay i get a remote control if i pay 2000 dollars

  • its $650 now :)

  • Please sir tell me where you got this beauty for 650

  • I can't even find it for sale ANYWHERES not even eBay!, and you can find toe nail clippings on eBay, lol

I heard it was discontinued, and many people had problems with it, like it failing after ONE year of use, or dead pixels, heard Gateway blows in the customer service department as well.

kind of a risky decision buying it I think...

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very good review.. this the only time your brain doesn't think of a dual setup lol

  • i'm looking at the desktop PC next tot the XHD3000. xhat is it??

  • its a custom computer

  • It actually looks like an HP voodoo, but I'm not sure.

  • It's custom built hence the gaming build. True pc gamers build their pcs. Buying pre-built means you are going to buy a new one soon.

  • Its a Coolermaster Cosmos S case. I have the case its one of the best cases on the market.

  • I want this guys job! .. I would just toke up and talk about electronics

  • is that how we are going to comunicate.. sit in front of your computer and do nothing..

  • That's funny it doesn't make sense in your brain (4:50).....LOL!

  • lol my 23 inch looks like a baby...

  • dell 30 inch monitors look nicer

  • I can't even count to 1000.. that's how high this number is.. hehe

  • that is why the screen has to be so big to have a high resolution...when it's on a 30" screen, 2560x1600 resolution would look similar to how 1024x768 would on a 15" screen, just over a much larger area, and better image quality.

  • That's not true.. the 30" has a much higher ppi (pixels per inch) than a 15" screen with 1024x768, so it would actually be even smaller than a 15" monitor at that resolution. It would be somewhat similar to a 15" widescreen monitor with 1440x900.

  • HUGE!

  • 4:41 WTF!

  • lol

  • Don't get the Gateway! mine just died already this week after only 1 year and 2 months. No warranty and no paid repair ability period. I'm so mad. I'm uploading a video on it now. It seems to be designed to fail at a year. :(

  • I'm using this monitor at the moment and the monitor is great but has an input lag making fps shooters on my PS3 unplayable! Bought it for $999 and gonna have to pay 15% restocking fee to return it to CompUSA.

I thought i had the perfect monitor.. should have known it was too good to be true.=*(

  • 30 inch monitor worth it

  • well i dont like the loudspeakers of it... its tooooooooo ungly... is there a way to remove them?and could i use them with an ultimate specification macbook pro? the 2008 edition

  • does this work with a macbook pro 17inch? i heard you cant take this baby up to its full potential with a laptop, but can u even with a 8600 nvadia gforce graphics card??? please help me with this.

  • which video is about the monster next to that monitor?

  • Mine does this crazy blackout thing. It sux. Right after you tur it on it will blackout for 4 - 6 seconds and then its ok. Gateway tech suport doesnt have a clue to fix the problem.

  • looool the taskbar is sooo looooooong =]

seriously now! if u have that "baby" u dont need a tv screen anymore! EPICWIN! and now i feel like a noob cuz i just have a 1280x1024 + a 1680x1050 screen (dual screens) i always thought i had a really big resolution! well =(

  • is this wall mountable?

  • Yes indeedy. It's VESA mountable with makes it uber easy to wallmount

  • WUSH I HAD ONE I HAVE A DELL 2408WFP

  • lucky I have a 17" sharp.

  • i went from 17" to a 22" about a year ago but now it seems small..maybe i`ll get one of these it`s awesome

  • why does he say CON! ectivity, as to con-ect-ivity.

  • can you hook your cable to this monitor to

  • I dont think so...

  • This looks great but its 750 pound in the UK Thats Bloddy loads for a monitor,I could get a Plasma for that much!

  • True, but just try to find any Plasma/HDTV with a resolution that gets anywhere NEAR this monitor :P

  • can you take the speaker bar off?

  • yes it's removable

  • I've been eying up the Dell WFP monitors, but this wipes the floor with them.

It probably costs twice as much as well...

    Oh well.

  • This is actually $999 from tiger direct. Lot's cheaper than the Dell.

Plus the screen is MUCH better.

  • Well, when I get out of college and get into a steady job, I know what I'll be buying myself.

  • Nowadays is only $999, it used to be #1699 when it came out in like late 2007.

  • He should run a video in this monster.

  • insertion

  • i have it, and i love it, i find it way better then the Hp 30" that i had. The one they for got 2 mention is the trilion, and yes i do mean trilion cilculations it does per second for the upscaling.

  • Imagine 3 of those together!!! :0

  • *drools* 5/5

  • What I hate about wide screens is the

short & fat people effect, faces and objects

are all fkn streched out, just compare faces on widescreens to what face shapes are in real life or on a 4:3 tv - the difference is fuckin awful! its not like day shows, news, reality tv, or video games are recorded in panavision. Even pics from the web and wallpapers are all fukin stretched out, fuckin lousy, wish there were 30 inch 4:3 monitors instead of this.

  • You'll only get a stretched look if you're using a 4:3 image pan and scanned on a widescreen tv or monitor. Most new widescreen tv's will give you the option to keep the 4:3 aspect. If you have downloaded videos etc on your computer and they look stretched, most media players allow you to correct the aspect also.

  • yeah but this aint a tv, this chick i know

has a an acer widescreen monitor and i hate it, we cant get anything but streched out,

you cant make a jpeg photo look normal jpegs seem doomed to short and fat on a widescreen monitors you cant do accurate photoshop and streched out images

I still suggest people beware before dropping cash on expensive short fat aspect monitors

  • Umm.. you can change it on Computer Monitors too, Because I have widescreen monitors on all three of my computers, and none of them have the "short, fat people" effect you speak of.

  • Hell yeah, I need a monitor like that for my web developer work...coding a CSS file, PHP files and browsing at the same time.

  • does any1 knw how to get tv on an lcd monitor widout a pc??? if its a tv tuner, can a usb tuner do the job coz i hve a 27 inch dell n i need to run tv widout the help of a pc can some1 help plz??

  • how much is this motor lol i doubt i can even get it but just wondering

  • $1600

  • anyone else noticed the speech he made is EXACTLY the same as the t260hd monitor?? check them out, exactly the same

  • yea dude i first saw the video of the t260 and its the same start

  • very nice If only I seen this last week :( oh well I'm happy with my 30" LG

  • Dell's 30" looks better, in my opinion....but costs well over a $1000

  • exactly so buy a hdtv 1080p, and the resolution will be 1920 1080 there sorted and you can get a bigger one, for unoverpriced prices.

  • And to top it off they dont make realistic view 4:3 format screens anymore, so now all the characters in the pictures look short and fat, now unless you are @ best able to mess with the screen resolutions and best youll get

is the 2 black bars and loss of screen real estate. Not impressive.

  • Im pissed of at the LCD industry, either LCD displays are not good for gaming, or theyre not good for movies, or theyre not good for graphics artists, or they have lousy video connection options, or they have lousy contrast,or they have lousy colors or they have lousy sharpness, or they have dead pixel problems,or the stand sucks I mean for fucks sake Arent there any displays out there can do it all and be fault free like CRT monitors were,Wish they brought slim line trinitron CRT monitors back.

  • Lol CRT's arent fault free.

  • thats true not completely fault free but way more than lcds, you could game watch movies and rely on top notch graphics and contrast with CRT, now you need a lcd for every different task! its just so worthless, ill take brand new 22" trinitron CRT over anything lcd has to offer, at least you can do all tasks with one monitor you get no dead pixels no screen latency, deep contrast all the time unbeatable color accuracy and perfect view angles everytime Wonder if SED tv's will come to light soon!

  • are u serious man? how old are you? 60?

  • go on pcmag and take a look you never heard of dead pixels or dead pixel policies or shitty view angles or screen latency or bad contrast fuck man what are you like a 6 yo on

    your moms pc?

  • whats with the soundbar? it makes it look....baaaad

  • very nice, but very expensive

  • That monitor costs 1,600$

  • "is this a wireless monitor?" LMAO lol

  • lol 3:46 "insertion!"

  • this thing is pretty freakin' pricey,

    $1599.99 USD

    $1951.99 CAD

  • ya, i would rather just get a TV 32" for cheaper...

  • does a 32 inch tv have a res of 2560x1600 i dont think so

  • Ya, so a tv has the high of 1920 x 1080. But with a TV that size, 1280x720 looks clear on a 32" TV! so, would you rather get a monitor that makes things blurier at 1280x720, or would you rather get a 32" TV that can be super clear at 1920x1080? ALSO i heard that some TVs have built-in anti-jagged edges technology that will do the anti-aliasing for you instead of your comptuer(Logan did a vid on one, but it was a 42" of some sort)

  • Very nice LCD move over 30 inch Samsungs.

  • That rig is Tigerdirect's property.

  • Nice monitor, but I'll stick with Samsung and LG's LCDs.

  • it's amazing,but it's still $1,599.duh!

  • i just realized that that pc i think is the same one he built a few episodes back. had like 3 gtx 280's

  • conn-ectivity. lawl

  • Logan is the legendary reviewer guy who used to work a tiger, but seriously people should stop whining about it.

  • Seriously I am tired of listening to people whine about that. I got my first computer in 1984 and remember when only smart people had computers. Some of these pimple faced teenage gamers should just get fucking over it.

  • So true. Bring back the old times.

  • I am still waiting for Gates to release an operating system that will multitask on modern computers as well as OS/2 did on my 486/66 with 8 meg of memory.

  • Well gates's probably not gonna release anything anymore since he retired :D but microsoft has said that windows 7 will be optimized for multiple cores and i think it was least up to 16.

  • Yes but we are stuck in this endless cycle. Ever more bloated operating systems that the hardware manufactures have to create faster hardware just to run them. Suppose Vista was the last operating system and the hardware manufactures kept creating faster hardware to make Vista run fast. Vista could be constantly updated with service packs. Wouldn't we be better off than introducing an ever more bloated operating system and expecting hardware vendors to save us?

  • Blu-Ray dream monitor

  • Who shrunk albert :o

  • 1,599.99 USD ...

    Fair enough .

  • $1,951.99 cad

  • yeah, insane price. for $1200 you can get better quality: samsung 305T

  • Fuck logan, he is an asshole. Albert is my sexy gay partner.

  • same cade that i have ^^

  • case***** lol
