OMG . I am so sorry for you . I was watching your 3 part video , and in part 3 when she was repacking you , I actually had to stop it twice . I couldnt bear hearing the agony that you were going through . I see this is an older post , with older comments that followed your post , and I see you said to sarasix6 a year ago that the infection was almost gone . So I hope you are all well now , and infection free . Yours was the most painful, heart felt reaction I had ever heard . get well soon :)
I feel 4 ya.I have a bleeding disorder similar 2 hemophilia. To learn about it, I became a nurse. Not all care takers R as concerned about sepsis & that's how I got my first septic event. When I took care of my ports & lines, I was infection free. I lost P.I.C.C. lines & I.V. ports of all kinds when I trusted the ER. Had 30 infections & some I packed myself. Ins. Co.'s like the do it yourself nurse. Worked the I.V. anti bx etc. There were a few times they gave me pain Rx but never put me out.
I had that after a compound fracture from a downhill bikin injury, the doctors didn't clean it well enough so they had to provide the meds nd service for me nd the exact same had to be done, nd that suckd cuz the packin nd removal were the worst part! I feel ur pain!
since then (9-09) I've been getting these little pimples and a couple have got up to about the size of a dime or smaller. I'm not sure why these infections vary as far as size and intensity? I am currently taking Septra again and I hope it clears up this time but having gone through this yourself do u have any suggestions for fighting the "mrsa battle" after
That has got to be one of the worst spots on the body to have a mrsa infection!!! I hope it cleared up in a short amount of time cause mrsa infections hurt sooooooo bad. I had one on each breast (one under and one on top) don't ask me how I got it there because I don't have any idea. The dr Rx Septra for 10 days and it seemed to go away but ever

I had an underarm mrsa infection last year. In the past I have been proud to admit I have a high pain tolerance. But I have to confess I wasnt as much of a trooper you are in this vidio. When the doctor was squeezing out the infection I begged to be put out and my husband had to help hold me down. For the other drainings and packing I looked for that mercy. None to be found Ghessss I hope I NEVER get anything like that again! Good luck with your recovery.
Thank you for your comment. the infection is nearly gone now, after 10 days of Zyvox, which is, I am told, the only oral antibiotic, and very expensive, $4000 for 20 pills, without insurance. Thank God for insurance. thanks for your concern and good luck to you. hope neither of us ever has to worry with this again!
@countrylace1 : I am glad to hear that your husband is out of that mess and doing well.
Back in 2002, while living in Germany, I was run down by a car and contracted necrotizing fasciitis on my right leg.
After 27 months in hospital, having my leg cut open, reconstructed, cut open again, re-constructed, and finally being safed from amputation just by luck (I guess), my insurance politely asked me to refund - drumroll - 789500 DEM.

@KrautGoesWild yes, thank you. it was my husband, and he is fine now. But, can you imagine? Without insurance, I guess you'd just have to die!
