aww no chirpy bird stations! :( lol nice radio. I think the family dollar batteries are actually made by a major brand and relabeled, I use them as well and haven't had an issue yet.
@grassulo The batteries are made by Eveready, which surprises me that Family dollar would bundle with them. sensitivity on the radio is not great right now, because I didnt have the right capacitors, eventually, I will get it back to original specs, and I would say there would be chripy bird stations.
Potentiometer might be dirty did you try cleaning it, if not replacing it will do the trick.
