Thanks for the video. Very helpful considering i like to see how to do something alongside reading the owners manual to make sure i get a correct understanding. Just picked up my dti delton today and tomorow i get to test her out. Very Helpfull !!
Thanks for posting this video. My brother and I will be meeting with our dad at a shooting range to fire an AR-15, and I'm sure this will help out. By the way, any recommendations for first time shooters? As in, and advice for anything?
Some would argue that some of the stuff you inform on is "common sense". I on the other hand believe that I would much rather depend on routine and practice, than "common sense". I just recently bought my VERY OWN AR-15. I have found your videos to be easy to follow and incredibly informative. Very thorough stuff. Good job dude.
@VideoNut81 Most guys think; "oh yeah I can operate a gun." Like its coded on the Y chromosome or something. But shooting and firearm manipulation is a thing that is improved through repetitive training. People think my videos are basic shooting, but there really is no such thing as advanced shooting. There are only the basics - applied to a higher standard, at a higher speed and under changing circumstances.
I'm glad you like the vids, help spread them around.
@batz420 Haha thanks man, no need to worry, the old bill have it under control, it makes me laugh how this all started because of money issues, who do they think is going ot pay for the damages?
And I think I'm safe around here, unless people start rioting through suffolk in tractors again...
I'm a girl gunner about to step into the wild world of 3-Gun and this video helped me thru my first rifle match, soon to get my own custom carbine Built! Thanks, you rock!
I'm going to be a total dick and say this, but to call a weapon a gun is wrong, "gun" is used to describe artillery pieces, especially naval bourne weaponary, hence navy gunnery. use the term weapon or rifle or call it by it's real name. I have no idea why it grind my gears.
@TheYoungster17 I hate to be a dick about this, but do ya'll even get to own things like this in the UK? I stopped worrying about the semantic line between gun and weapon the day I got my discharge papers.
@TheYoungster17 It's a commonly accepted term. If I went to a bank tomorrow and yelled "I HAVE A GUN, GET DOWN", the people inside would have no second-thoughts. The immediate thing to enter their mind is the image of either a handgun, or a rifle. I highly doubt that they'd be imagining me holding a naval artillery piece.
@TheYoungster17 Also, if you were to search in a dictionary, or an online one, or one on your computer, you would find that they all refer the term "gun" to firearms. In fact, it incorporates all weapon systems that fire projectiles from long metal tubes. Example definition from internet: a weapon incorporating a metal tube from which bullets, shells, or other missiles are propelled by explosive force, typically making a characteristic loud, sharp noise.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO! UR GONNA BE A GD GENERAL ONE DAY GUMP!..!!!!!JUST KIDDING!!! seriously, this video just made up my mind on buying an AR. A friend of mine has one and ive been considering purchasing a doublestar or dpms for $ reasons as a starting platform. but never having fired one i was about 2 buy a springfield xd in .40 and a berg 590A1 9 shot 12 guage.. or a 20" 870 tac. I've shot both extensively. but i wanted a carbine. this vid sold me. THANK YOU
@fastbikeswarmgunz Glad it was helpful. Those other guns are good to have also, especially the pistol if concealment is an issue. But, in my opinion, the intermediate carbine is the best fighting weapon available to civilians legally in the US.
This acutally really help me learn a few things I didnt know before I am going to be buying an ar here in the next few months so I just wanna say thank you for posting this video
This video is going to be very helpful for me next fall, as I'm going to purchase an ar-15 variant for practical shooting, and I've only operated the Sako Rk 62 (Finnish version of AK-47) when I was in the army and during refresment training, so it's going to take some time to get used to a new type of automatic-rifle. Your rifle drills video was also very informative, you clearly know what you're talking about. Keep up the good work!
brought a preban colt ar15 20' hbar, i haven't got to fire it yet,its suppose to be brand new,. but i noticed once i pull the charge handle it dont snap back like in the video, i have to manually push it back, is there something wrong with it?
@basskillaz The charging handle will only go forward if the bolt is going forward. If you lock the bolt back, or there is an empty magazine in, you will have to push it forward.
New operator here. Your vids have been a fantastic reference for me , so i thank you for that!! Wondering if you could make a solid sling recomendation. rifle is bushie xm15 standard forearm. open to adding connectors/plates. prob prefer two point as it appers you use. Thanks again.
I use an IDF two point sling. It attaches to the butt-stock and front sight post with parachute cord. the main readon I like these is because they do a good job and are super cheap. Also very popular for a two point "assault" type sling is the Vickers Tactical or "VTAC" sling. I wouldn't mess with anything but a two point.
question. i have an armalite ar180b gas piston in 556 nato. and i have been thinking about trading it in for a dmps in 556 nato and getting a gas piston kit for it. would that be a good idea or should i stick with what i have.
I work on the principle that if something is working well, don't replace it. If the 189B is doing well for you, stick with it. If I was going to replace it I would stick with a traditional direct impingement AR- as gas piston ARs have not been around for long enough to have proven themselves reliable to me (especially the motley collection of brands that have forced out many versions)
RRA is pretty good I'd say they are on the same level with a bushmaster. Look at a BCM though, they are in that same price range and in my opinion are better, especially for your bolt carrier group, definitely recommend BCM
Colts are not worth the money they designed the original M4 and are the manufacturer that produces for the military so they are way overpriced. If you are looking for a top quality brand look at Daniel Defense, Noveske, and Lewis Machine and Tool, I feel like I'm forgetting another one, CMMG and BCM are good too and are a little cheaper
"Place your loaded magazines outta the way so you dont accidentally grab them while your.. examining the weapon" LMFAO that is priceless dude ahahahaa, love the videos man
The vast majority of police entry teams disagree. Any shotgun round that is a reliable man-stopper penetrate interior household walls as badly as a 5.56. Less, if TAP rounds are used. The secret is hits on target-not into walls. Add to that the fact that the AR carries more round on board and that it is much easier to handle than a 12 gauge shotgun (especially w/women) the AR is a winner. But if you know how to handle a shotgun it is a perfectly acceptable choice, as are most modern pistols.
Perfect video man! I have a RRA m4 entry I like the carry handle look and put a Acog on it. Replaced the plastic hand guards with a midwest industires quad rail and vertical grip. I am looking to buy a Gsg 5 rifle next =)

I put together my own ARs. The most important things to look for are a chrome lined barrel and a true 5.56 chamber. Next thing is a quality w/ a properly staked carrier key and quality extractor. Of the factory rifles you mention The Bushy has most of these things out of the box, don't know about the DPMS, but over all a Bushmaster is high in the middle of the pack of AR builders a DPMS is low in the middle. Is it illegal to purchase an AR-15? Because on the side of the weapon it says "Only for Law Enforcement/Military use".
If it is legal where would you recommend purchasing one?

Not in most states, that is a relic of the 1994-2004 "assault weapons ban." You need to check your local and state laws.

chrome lined barrels are more durable and tend to see less problem than a standard steel barrel. Also I'd look for something with good feed ramps, and you want to give some thought to which gas system you want(carbine, midlength, or rifle), this should depend on how long your barrel will be. For a 14.5" which you'll need an attachment to meet min. length requirements I'd go carbine, if your barrel is 16" go midlength, if it is 20" or longer go rifle
