@freebeerfordworkers there are many collectors that are out there that would gladly restore tanks in that condition, especially ww2 era. ww2 era tanks are becoming incredibly rare. Look at the state of some of the ww 2 aircraft they are restoring to flying condition!
@shibbychad I'd restore it and ride it around...not ever tell anyone about it, then pull up into their driveway and call them outside. Then start a business doing wedding/prom/whatever rides. :D
the charioteer mk-7 model b...is a variant of the cromwell...the guntubes with bore evacuators are 20-pounder/84mm mainguns(these tanks are near same size as us m-47 patton-2...with 90mm maingun...) confusing somewhat?
I'm a former american army armor officier and I taught many classes on tank recognition etc...somewhat confused...it the charioteer with the bore evacuators...and the comets seem to have normal maingun?-milwaukee
a34 comet first entered service with british army sept 1944 and was retired by 1958...armed with 77mm/17lber...these finland tanks are upguned...notice the bore evacuator...what calliber endowment of tubeage? how big is its main gun?
finland bought these british surplus tanks 1958-1961...the comet mk1 model b tank served from 1960-1970...and the charioteer fv4101 tank destroyer served from 1960-1979.../-milwaukee(m-60a3 officer)
forgive me everyone it breaks my heart to say this but I am very affraid these handsome tanks have rusted in peace!...now don't yell at me if some still run! victory and freedom for finland is the price of rust!-milwaukee(m-60a3tts)
@rocketshipstud2 most of these are nothing more than scrap & wouldnt be worth restoring the stugs would be & would be quite valuble.
If you bought 5 or 6 lots & had the money, time & space not to mention excentricity you might get one running tank out of them but that would be some work.
it would also be a logistical nightmare..
I've restored a 7.5 ton vintage british army truck & that was rnough. it would of been nice to have one of the guns to tow behind but i'm happy with my manhood...
5-stars...i did not read the fine print prior ...but I did spot them as british comets! very cool and interesting!...ww-2 and late 1940s gear/kit...maybe someone in hollywood could use them for a rambo type movie...-milwaukee(m-60a3tts officer)
i would take thouse tanks clean that shit up but a bed in the back paint it. clean the rust. new engine new tracks ect. but a telescope in the barrle make it street legal. and traval the whole world in that tank and blow up who ever dosent like it
They look like British Cromwell WW2 tanks or the Comet WW2 tanks!!

Why did they let the tanks get in that state? Only good for range targets or scrap.

С русским и германским оружием все понятно. Но откуда у финнов английские "Кромвели", "Кометы" и самоходки на их базе?

Well these rust buckets helped keep the commies out. It's not what you use it's how you use ít.

I believe they did... I saw at least one english restaurer on the Finnish news, who said he was going to restore and resell.
