For sure this piece is difficult...so many different musical elements to it. Im in level 10 rcm and i starting this piece already for my ARCT because i wanna get it down packed for the ARCT exam when i do it someday. Post a new recording...im sure your much better now if u kept practicing this all these years!:)

Not bad at all. At least you've got the tempo down. I'm just starting and I'm taking it slow so that it doesn't fall apart like the rest of my pieces because I practice them tempo from day one. I'm not going to make that mistake with this awesome piece. You really did a nice job. This is not easy. I enjoyed watching yu struggle a little like I do. You know misery loves company. Well that applies to me only with piano though. It is so hard for me. You did just fine.

edscissprs08, almost. lol lol This piece has a little bit of EVERYthing in it. I just started this piece, and whew! It's a HAND full. In fact, it's TWO hands full! lol lol But that's why it's not boring. Because it has so much variety that it's almost like playing several different pieces all wrapped up into one.

This is really good study material since it is mostly correct notes, but played at a slow tempo. For individuals like me, we can use it to make sure our rhythm is correct. =) And please do post a video of yourself currently playing this piece so that we can hear you on a better camera and a better piano! xD

Instead, take this video down and post a new video. You know the notes (more or less) and now can focus on actually learning it. The LH ostinato octaves need tremendous work, the overall tempo should be increased and there is much interpretational work to be done. Hope that helps.

Hey there, as youve just learnt it...maybe ud like to shed some light on something for me...what were the trickiest parts about it, how did you fair in the beginning...how long did it take you to learn..im looking to learn it, but the chromatic 4ths are a lil tricky

the hardest part of the song is easily the first page, alot of people will tell you that the 2 pages of octaves in the middle section is brutal but i found it quite easily and actually learnt and memorized those two pages in just one day. it's definitely a REALLY fun song to play and it was worth it learning it! the recording i have up here is really crappy compared to when i got everything up to speed and 99.9% note perfect

Yea i agree with you completely, when i recorded that it was defiantly shaky, and slow, especially the first page..you've kinda confused me on the whole emphasized mood? Do you mean a bigger sound? If so, that'd be one thing I defiantly don't need to work on.

Everyone that has heard the song performed in real life said it sounded very big. That piano just couldn't take it...2 strings snapped on it...than I got my baby grand, which sounded MUCH better especially in the base. Thanks for the comment!

lol, no problems. I believe it's the camera sound quality, no need to worry. Just listening to it once more, great work once again. I'm a self taught pianist (for about 4 years), I've done senior music at school, and thinking about getting lessons at this stage, I'm not up to 'that' level yet, but I plan to able to play this song (and compositions alike) in particular by the end of 07.
