Funny, when I drive my real car in real life I see the steering wheel, my arms, the windshield, the dashboard, the hood of the car. I never have the view like I am laying on the hood of the car such that I can not even see the car at all. The reason people like this view is because you see more of the track. Cockpit view is much more realistic, but it is harder to drive that way. Especially true if you are playing on a 13" monitor!

Because when you play on cockpit mode (with a joystick or keyboard) you see the steer and the dashboard + the frontwindow.

But when you already have a steer (like that guy on the video does) you don't need to use cockpit view.

I'ts more realistic that way.

Why bother using sequential shifter because you are still using other driving aids to keep yourself on track. With downshifting like that you would spin out of track without a question, unless you used heel and toe, which you didn't. Why don't you just go play Need For Speed - slam the gas and brake pedals anyway you want and shift carelessly - the game will do it all for you.
