  • so old and full of blue

  • Paul Anka isn't Italian; he is (or was) Lebanese-Canadian from Ottawa and I used to date one of his cousins.

  • my little 15 year old brother introduce me to this song.... He has good taste..

  • le bon vieux temps

  • le bon vieux temps

  • Deze zanger mag je ook gerust bij de grootste plaatsen.. De hist van Paul Anka zijn fenomenaal..

  • Reminds me of pair skating at the kirkstall Rollerena Leeds in the early seventies. This was always played along with Peter and Gordon World Without Love and The Wooden Knickles Should I Give My Love Tonigtht.

  • Paul does look lonely and blue in his album cover.

  • great song!

  • Sorry, don't like this version. The original is better!

  • the longings of a teenager...I remember them well

  • @melissahaslam1 I am the only person that will help you. My name is Juan Born in Chile.. Love Paul Anka , I have some Italian blood, like him.. I love flowers.. and good wine..movies.. with spiritual minded ..

  • @juan58102 You have some Italian blood, but Paul Anka was Arab, not Italian.

  • good song greate songer to wat a voice he have

  • I wan´t to be that someone to love and to hold. Love you Paul.

  • This is me!.. :) tnx for posting.

  • This version is nice, but the original has chord structure that in my opinion(for what it's worth),has more emotion. I'm not talking instrumentation,I'm referring to the chords.

But like I mentioned, this remake nice too.

  • my fav of paul :)

  • haha like this song my mom always puts it on n sings along :) its moments like this are good memories :) n cherish the most :)

  • Amazing!

  • DAMN HE"S cute! No wonder Annette loved him.

  • @Sheri451

You mean Annette Funicello ? Wow, I was never aware of that. You know, he also reminds me of Dustin hoffman. And vise-versa.

  • @gendres1 Yes Annette Funicello was his girlfriend for a while. She wrote a book about seventeen years ago. A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes. She said his song Put Your Head On My Shoulder was written at her house. And the music was composed on her piano. I really feel sorry for her, she's in bad shape now, she can't even talk anymore. They had her on Entertainment Tonight about six or seven years ago, She cried and her husband said "She wants to dance again."

  • @Sheri451 Thank you. I do remember seeing her in all those movies with Frankie Avalon, but I never knew that she was dating Paul at one time. Yeah - sorry to hear about her health. Growing old gracefully isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, it's anything but. I'm not as old as Annette, but I'm not far away. And I think it's especially tough on people in the entertainment industry. Remember Connie Francis ? I actually got to meet her once in New York, where I am from. What a thrill !

  • @gendres1 I remember Connie, I saw her in Where The Boys Are and my Mom used to like her songs too. Annette Funicello developed Multiple Sclerosis. She got her first symptoms in 1976 when she was only 34. She went into a remission until I believe 1990? She got to where she could no longer walk straight and people thought she was drinking, she went to her doctor and he ordered a series of tests. She had MS. She has gotten worse in the past ten years.

  • @Sheri451

I am truly sorry to hear that. I've heard of MS. Terrible illness. And at only 34 !? We never really truly appreciate our good health until we lose it. It can happen to anyone at anytime. Rich, poor, good looking, ugly - doesn't matter. It does not discriminate. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

  • @gendres1 You're Welcome.

  • best version

  • the best version

  • He brings back some many memory, really feelings - Thanks all that clever song you bring into my heart Paul, and you fixa Anna planka!

  • fucking bad mother fucking ass!

  • @1MartinD28 Are you still sick, try to jump out on a window my friend...

  • @christer1947ify sorry, I must have had a few too many that night. great song

  • Reminds me of 'Pairs Dancing' at the Kirkstall Rollerena Leeds. I was only 13 but what an atmosphere.

  • Classic Paul Anka

  • This is the version I have been looking for ever since my old 8 Track gave up the ghost

    Thanks bud!

  • My song for Valentine's Day :'-(

  • This is my life. =[

  • this is Paul´s sound and voice I was looking for, thanks for this

  • nice

  • Tolle Erinnerung an damals!

  • 50er Jahre? alter Knabe

  • Good Job on having the original sounds

  • This sounds like the version Paul recorded for his RCA Victor 21 Golden Hits Album. This sounds different than the one he did for ABC-Paramount, however, both versions are excellently done by Mr. Anka.

  • Why do the voices differ so much? Also, the beat has more base or echo. This one is much better.

  • @DangleFront I posted a reply over a year ago, when my YouTube name was Jaybird1103, that this was the re-recording for RCA Victor's 21 Greatest Hits by Paul Anka in 1963.. Paul's voice was more deeper in this version than in the original 1959 ABC-Paramount recording. The '59 ABC version had more guitars, whereas the '63 version for RCA had more strings. Both versions of Lonely Boy are excellent. If Paul Anka is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he definitely should be.

  • indeed :D

  • this is GREAT :)
