Exactly, how EFFICIENT it is on modern graphics cards, it runs like shit on a bloody 460,Yet runs fine on a 6800GT it has doublesided textures and it renders the entire map instead of rendering what you see, plus numerous programming errors that could have been fixed in a matter of minutes if hiredgun actually knew how to port a game.
PC Games and console games are not the same, and developers should not treat them the same, or else you end up with shit like halo 2 vista.
if you think this is a bad port then you have yet to play a really bad port. did you do the updates? I wil admit it aint brilliant, it runs at the same performance as doom 3, far cry and half life 2 but they all look a lot better (adding to the visuals I didn't think the shadows were dark enough and the bloom was not high enough). and it is missing key features like co-op (thankfully there is a mod ut there for 4 player co-op but I have yet to try it) a bad port is better than no port
I didn't say it was a good port just not as bad as you think it is. they're much worse out there. and at least halo 2 got a port unlike the rest of the halo game's. I would argue halo 1 has more players because you don't need windows live to play online. also halo 1 is easy for people to torrent and then play online illegally. and the free halo 1 demo is were all the players are. I have seen halo 2 on 7 separate computers and not had lag issues (one had 64mb graphics card and worked)
I doubt your still interested but halo 2 probably only seemed to be lagging, I tested it on my new desktop and got 400fps according to fraps, but it felt really laggy, and that is because of vertical tearing (higher frame rate than the screen it is being displayed on). if you force Vsync on in the nvidia control panel (ATI probaly has something similar) it makes it feel silky smooth. I have never asked for thumbs up but I would right now so that people are aware why it feels laggy

To be honest, I can't see much improvement graphic-wise. The addition of the map editor was an excellent idea, but beyond that, it's basically the same game programmed for Windows use. No offence or anything, but that's my opinion
i think if you boosted the settings up to the highest it would beat the xbox version anyday. Still i think Halo 2 should (or already is?) be for download off the xbox marketplace... with multiplayer.

This game had pretty decent graphics for a game from 2004.. And the frame-rate limitations were removed, so that even improved the graphics. Also the new HD Support. But, sorry Halo fans, Half-Life 2 looked (And still looks better than Reach) sounded and felt better. Only the multiplayer sucked donkey balls, but you get over it, because you got it free..
