  • Great version of it. Joy was amazing in that scene.

  • The Glee version of this song sucks...

  • Like if you came here from the tweet of Bethany Joy Galeotti!!

  • @arreba90 me!!

  • oh god the countermelody in the basses in the beginning is so beautiful!!

  • glee version is much betta!!!

  • can we stop referring to the Coldplay "version" it's their song for Christs sake! Chris Martin wrote the damn song!!! Sung by anyone else it can be called their version of a Coldplay song!!!

  • SOOOOOO beautiful!! I have chills, and tears. It's like I can feel it in my soul. When it starts building @ 2:25 after Jerome sings it makes me breakdown...Everytime. EPIC!

  • The second verse, which I believe is sang by the black man, is the most chilling by far. Absolutely incredible, never heard anything of their quality and don't think I ever will.

  • @pjs765 the black man's name is Jerome...and yes it is sung by him...I am partial to him as well but they are all incredibly talented and given the right song they can all produce chilling solos...Ryan and Mike have solo albums...you should check them out as well!

  • ok. i started out rediscovering Toto this morning. then I discovered Straight No Chaser's version of Africa. Then, after a bit of listening around, I get to this. Holy. Crap.

  • glee is gay...

    that is all

  • I like the Coldplay version alright, but just this version is just one of the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. I listen to this whenever I am sad :)

  • My color guard instructor always plays this song during warm-up and I just love it so much!

  • Love the band, but the token black guy in the pic is hilarious!

  • This seriously gave me the chills. I wish I could be in a group that was half as good as them.

  • Absolutely love this song!

  • reminds me of marching band(:

  • 1:33 jerome <3

  • STUNNING!

  • love it!

  • This is what the soul sounds like. This is the sound of the human heart.

  • goosebumps every time.

  • wait, so is this group made of three giants and seven midgets???

    great rendition!

  • @jonowonoponosono Well, if you can see, seven of them are sitting on a ledge while three are standing...

  • @erjoseph07 LOL I never noticed

  • Street Corner Symphony (and friends) version tops this in my opinion..from the Sing Off. This is very good though.

  • @hartleyas I agree w/ you 100%. that performance brought tears to my eyes.

  • @hartleyas Here is a list in the order of bands that sing this song best

    1) Coldplay

    2) Straight no chaser

    Skip a few

    100) Street Corner Symphony

  • this version is freaking awesome!

  • This one tops all, period.

  • Chuck Norris called, he wants his epic back.

  • great blending and dynamics!

  • Drew and straight no chaser are the best at this song.

  • The absolute best version of this song. The. Best.

  • <3

  • @deadheadjon I heard them live less than a month ago. Their vocals were flawless and they made it seem easy. I agree that many Acapella groups aren't nearly this clean. However, SNC is one of the handful of exceptions. Go see them live. Tickets aren't THAT expensive. You'll change your thoughts on them after your MIND IS BLOWN. I actually prefer the live performance vs. the mastered studio version. The fact that you think they use auto-tune can be taken as a compliment. Yes, they're THAT good.

  • These young men are extraordinary singers. Gave me goosebumps and is more pleasant to listen to than Coldplay's original version.

  • This song made me tear up (':

  • @stangpede06 you shouldn't even be comparing this to glee...they are not even close to the same level

  • @xoemval 100% agreed

  • I want to marry them...all of them

  • @x0x0sammix0x0 Haha...I do believe their wives would object. ;)

  • @jrlomy2k bahahah probably :)

  • This is our acappella song for the show choir im in this year :D

  • Cried when I heard this version last Nov. I hope to see them in Raleigh this year! Even played Im yours / Somewhere over the rainbow at my wedding.

  • wow ........ what can you possibly say? this is amazing!

  • LOVE SNC and I'm so mad that I'm not able to go to their show in boston this friday!

  • amazing.

  • This version blows the Glee version straight out of the water.

  • @stangpede06 Anything by SNC blows the Glee version straight out of the water.

  • @pkempf11 exactly what i was gonna say

  • @stangpede06 ...as they say, "what Glee version"? All others pale in comparison...even the original.

  • @jrlomy2k seriously, i didn't even remember there was a glee version =P

  • @stangpede06 I agree...and im a major gleek

  • I got to see them this week. I'm psyched their coming to my area on Friday. This is one of y favorite songs from them. They did amazing.

  • Winter guard song.

Hamilton Southeastern High School Winter Guard 2011 <3

  • One of my favorite songs from them. They did great.

  • You know a group is good when people think they're TOO good and using autotune.

  • I'm almost offended at the number of people assuming this guys use autotune. Watch some of their live performances. These guys are the genuine article. I think so much of our respect for great musicians, particularly vocalists has become jaded in the last decade because of all the mediocre artists out there making millions of dollars from their look and good marketing, and not necessarily because of talent. I love SNC and look forward to more great music.

  • Liking every comment I see!!!... This song was sung by Coldplay in 2005 and this is my first time hearing it and I'm blown away... I've hit replay literally 200 times already....

  • @hardcoremlg Here I thought I was the only one who hit replay over and over a thousand times!!!! Can't get enough of these guys and especially their version of this song.

  • MARCHING HAWKS WILL ROCK THIS SONG. <3

  • Seem a little too clean to you, too? Back in my day, acapella choruses weren't allowed to tweak recordings with f*cking autotune. Great job arranging the tune, but seriously guys, autotune is for shit pop musicians with no vocal talent, not for semi-professional singers.

  • @deadheadjon wow.. have you tried looking at some of the live performances of these guys on here? check it out.. no autotune there.

  • @deadheadjon You know how you can always tell when something's been recorded in a studio, even in the days before autotune. I think you're confusing studio sound with autotune. Look up a live version, sounds pretty much the same.

  • @deadheadjon i'm not hearing any autotune here, sorry. And, their live versions are just as great, it is clean because there is not background noise, and they are using great equipment in a studio.

  • i really really want to do this song. i want that first solo, ive never heard a solo RIGHT in my range before. :)))

  • K the 8 people who disliked this are dumb

  • Way better than the Coldplay version

  • I hope these guys are the angels I get to hear in heaven (:

  • Oh my god. This is a beautiful rendition of an amazing song. It's not often I like a covered version of a song as much as the original, but this is... Fantastic.

  • This made me Tear up... :') <3

Its like their angels coming down from heaven singing this to us, when we're having tough times and troubles <3

  • 2:40 till like the end gives me goose bumps

  • AWESOME!!

  • I LOVE hearing them sing one of my favorite songs so beautifully!

  • I feel like if I listen to this enough, I will be the greatest singer in the world.

  • I am holding out hope they will make a special appearance on the Sing-Off.

  • Enya copied this style of music.

  • wow is all i can say....wow.... That was really intense!

  • Comment removed

  • 1:13 gives me goosebumps! Wow now this is an amazing A cappella cover! hats off

  • why is this ver a key lower then the ones that are live? :(

  • @breek1 probably because they were a little flat while practicing before the concert so they moved it up a key to help. I don't see why that would matter to us listeners though...

  • @kkennett1 well since ive been around music ever since i was in elementary school it actually does bother me lol. The live ver with the higher key sound better to me because it just adds that extra umph and those notes are just sung so well at a higher key for the black soloist. A little more "effort" is always better when it comes to singing in my opinion. :)

  • The Kickstart remix of this version by SNC is sooo good

  • Comment removed

  • The eight people you dislike this NEED to be fixed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this amazing group!

  • Have you guys ever considered going on the Sing Off? This is a VERY nice A Capella cover.

  • @VeloCiraid There is no need for them to go on the Sing Off. These guys already have a record deal.

  • i think i liked the sing off version better but this was really good to.

  • This is going to be our Marching Band show this year!!!

    Go Hickory Marching Hawks!!!!

  • @TylerByrum you guys were sooooooo good. had me, my guardies and members of my band singing along. Great show!!!

  • UGGH 13 times ive watched this and I AM STILL CRYING i need to get ahold of myself -sniffles-

  • @TheEiduam wtf are you on? Glee are shit, cant sing, are cringible and saddos. Glee wreck all songs, e.g. dont stop believing. Snc are fucking awesome. They bring the original songs to whole new level. And snc can actually sing and harmonise. I love SNC!!!

  • I love SNC, but this song is a little too much like "Glee" for me

  • @TheEiduam

While I don't think it's too Glee-ish, I think they did more with the song than needed. I still like the original better. There's a rawness to Coldplay's version that I like more. This is almost too polished and pop-like for me, personally. I love the harmonies, I just think SNC went further than needed on this one. Still a fan. :)

  • This is absolutely stunning.

  • Why do three of them look like giants? Hm...nice song, anyways.

  • @ALittleBitLonger2010 Cause most of em are sitting?

  • @texantrinity oh...well yeah there's that...

  • To SNC: I think I have seen all your songs on YouTube, but didn't watch this one because of the title--I didn't know it was a Coldplay song which would have made a difference. Although I really like all the others this is by miles of distance your best choice for a meaningful song and the voices are perfect. Nothing more can be said.

Thank you to Rankingyourfriends for posting.

  • Mike Luginbill is the greatest singer on this planet. (At least, that's this girl's opinion.) I love SNC.

  • The version they've done is amazing. It is stunning to know that they've done it all with just their vocals. Unbelievable!

  • I miss the guitar, but I prefer these vocals.

Not dissing Coldplay's vocals, but I'm not a big fan of the falsetto in their version.

  • @tihnchern92 dude. yes. LOL. my heart opens so wide when i hear that part :)

  • ♥ MANLY TEARS ♥

  • @nayhem If it's during this song, then crying is indeed considered manly.

  • This should be the definition of beauty.

  • Coldplay's version is better of course but this is a VERY close second :) I miss the guitar in the middle of the song but is still effective enough to give me chills <3

  • it's good, but i miss the guitar/percussion part at 2:30.

  • @AdasiekkkTrzeci

    agreed!

  • men, don't be ashamed if you cry, you're allowed to with that song

  • Shivers, man...

  • Another very moving use of this song was the year a couple competing on So You Think You Can Dance performed to the Coldplay original. The girl portrayed a mother, or possibly a lover, fighting cancer while the young man gave all the support he could. There was hardly a dry eye in the house.

  • @donnadegeorge I remember that dance very vividly. They said it was THE DANCE of the year. And I had to agree. I was bawling, I'm not gonna lie. Reminded me of my aunt who was recently diagnosed with Cancer.

    Brilliant dance, brilliant song.

  • Beautiful.

  • i like cold play just not that song by them.

  • i really hate the cold play version. im glad they remade it cuz the words are good, just cold play is .... :/ yuck

  • @artist203lover

Whatever your opinion on their sound is, though, you can't deny that they're damn good at songwriting. Lyrics and melody.

  • Tear inducing for sure <3

  • love this version of this song :) <3

  • Wish I could actually watch all of you sing as oppose to stare at a picture.

  • Great cover

  • the picture of these guys makes me not want to listen to this music.

  • holy sweet jesus that was awesome

  • Holy shit.

  • @VMercenary That sums it up better than anything anyone else said

  • SO much better than the original!

  • cannot put into words how rich and deep the the bass(es) are! beautiful!

  • so much better than the original

  • one person is gay!!!!

  • @doublem97 no young one... someone need's to be fixed :'( and we... we WILL fix him (or her)

  • @doublem97 Dunno about the first person, but the second person is :) You're welcome

  • I like this better than the original. The harmony is amazing.

  • Re those guys really sing a low b? or is there some kind of editing to do that? I didn't know that people could sing that low.

  • @jthameschoir08 Yes, that's the amazing talent of Charlie Mechling and Randy Stine. This of course is the studio version, but if you listen to their live performances, it's nearly identical. The live performances only have the straight ten voices, and not the large chorus effect--but it is all authentic.

  • I think this is great, but I'm still a bigger fan of JMU's Exit 245 version

  • Most of the versions of 'Fix You' are good ... Great songs usually get sung with passion and feeling ... try viewing the 'Seasonal Singers' version (a rank amateur group from North East England!) ... search on 'Seasonal Singers' ...

  • better than the original? are you stupid?

  • nothing is better than the oringal, but i will say this my friend is really close

  • it upsets me when people say this version is better than the original, because i sure as hell know if i had to pick only one of the versions to listen to for the rest of my life i would pick the original. there is absolutely nothing like Chris Martin's voice and Coldplay in general.

  • seriously...... just wow.

  • to me, this is talented vocalists, soloists, displaying their talents. not necessarily cohesive acapella music. it's good, and definitely a different arrangement that fits this group, but as an acapella song, Exit 245's version is one that deserves accolades in its arrangement and sound.

  • went to the concert last night!!! Amazing Ryan and Mike gave me a hug and took a picture with me with their arms around me!! I was flippin!!!!!

  • wayyyyyyyy better!!!!!

  • who disliked this?

  • @mondosuper some loser

  • so. fucking. good.

  • ...can't...stop...hitting...replay..button... aha. This version is way better than the original.

  • now it's a tie between them and JB and MH. when they sing it it's like the gates of heaven opening.

  • This is an awesome version, but look up JMU's Exit 245 version. Just type in "JMU Exit 245" and pick the one with the picture of Coldplay on it. It is super legit.

  • harmony is FRICKIN AMAZING
