  • thanks for the post @fleafly . its crazy that even after these guys get sober they release bomb shit!

i see your a chili peps fan too. what do you think of the new album?

  • mars volta can kiss this

  • This just hardened my nipples.

  • god damn dave navarro stop being so sick

  • Bad ass JEW! Surfs, too! Almighty calling street gang.. He is a monster, he is a killer... waiting for more tunes! GENIOUS!

  • Come to Seattle area JA we need a dose?!Get a tour going guys!!??

  • Freddy Mercury+Michael Jackson = What.

    Great song.

  • what is perrys tattoo suppossed to be?

  • @rufusdufus13 its a mosquito

  • @rufusdufus13 It's a praying mantis

  • @rufusdufus13 I've wondered that for years. I think it's a bird but I'm not sure.

  • beautiful. can they get better? YES! nothing like good old rock fcking beautiful

  • I saw them back in '87 or '88 when they opened for Iggy Pop. Twenty-plus years later, with NINJA, they still brought their A-Game to live performances. What you can't feel in the video is the intensity of Perry's reaction with the crowd. He feeds off of crowd energy, much like a stand-up or someone like Chelsea Handler, whose show is better when the audience is into it. Dave Navarro is a guitar god, maybe _the_ Guitar God, although J Mascis is another close one. Man, I love this band.

  • so forgive me now, and forgive me later...I'll pay you back.. Navarro's great rif

  • its kind of fun listening to people who were born after this band was famous trying to discredit perry for the very style that the shitty bands these morons are comparing JA to in their heads stole and used for their own music.

  • These guys, Aerosmith and STP they carry on a certain tradition that started in a way with the Stones. Its a certain Charisma, a way they live their lives. They flaunt there blue color talant because they know their music is bigger than they are. I'm sure I'm skipping a band you like, my favorite band of all time is the Screaming Trees because what they meant to me at the time, not because they are the most talanted.

  • these guys know how to perform!

  • If Eric would have played on this song it would have been so accepted. Not a bad Jane's song...Open your minds!!!

  • its not a heroin band and only a small minded reptile such as yourself would glorify heroin. stop living in the shadows of your complexes and be original, asshole

  • I love Heroin bands.

  • Geil 5/5*****

  • juuuust GREAT ! i dont buy much music but this i will get ..prolly need all CDs :( expensives buuut must pay price or nick them :) DL :)

  • ur cool

  • Very similar into to a Smashing Pumpkins song, not that theres anything wrong there. I think its called Porcelina?

  • absolutlly, the beginning looks so similar.

  • The Smashing pumkins wish they were as good as Janes Addiction!!!

  • @Kebabage Wow, not even close dude. I know Porcelina very well and I just don't hear where you are coming from. Great song by the Pumpkins though.

  • @merlinstrik The intro of both songs have similar chords and melodic parts. The rest of the songs are very different of course.

  • Sweet, one the few bands that doesn't sound like shit live.

  • One of the things that I like about Perry and why I consider him one of the most important voices of the 90s is because he does sing things out of key sometimes. It's not just because he can't sing properly, he does it with such conviction that it forces you to not like the sound of it which makes him a genius.

  • loved the fukin ending that was badass

  • the first like 10 seconds reminded me of the guitar hero entrance lol. still, nice song.

  • What an amazing band man!!!!

  • If the instrumental wasn't so good I wouldn't really like the singer much

  • Beautiful!! wonderful! Thanks Perry/Dave

  • because they're the nitty gritty of the 80's 90's era (well mid to late 80's, early 90's) sumthin like that

  • just because!! ;))

  • because they practucally invented/defined "alternative" music.

  • really? in the 70's?

Sure you can say REM or Husker Du were alternative first...but neither combined such a wide range of styles as JA. Not to mention a little tour called Lollapalooza...wich was THE "alternative rock" festival. Janes is responsible for a lot more than they get credit for.

  • cuz there the shit and there shows are as hot as africa!

  • lol, i think you should rethink the word "there"

it's different from they're and their.

  • who cares?

  • Sayin they had to pay for everyhing indicates that the place did`nt stand up to snuff. The ironi as always is that musicians always perform better with pressure than with pleasure.

    Peace

  • eVERYBODY say the same,Nothin's shocking,yeah,it fuckin' rules.Nice one,my man,I am proud of you.jajaja.Cheers mate!!

  • wicked song and album. Studio version is better than this one though

  • they only did 3 official albums and they are all great.

  • yea the box set lol

  • anyone recommend a janes addiction cd i have only just discovered them!

  • My favourite album is their self titled album, but that's kind of hard to find. If you can't find that one, go with Ritual de lo Habitual...

  • ..or Nothing's Shocking

  • Nothing's Shocking, do you live under a rock?

  • I dont want to sound like someone that doesn't know anything about JA but there greatest hit album really does have there greatest hits exept for no one leavin' which is in Ritual de lo Habitual

  • *their

  • dude get Nothings Shocking album and Ritual de lo Habitual album those are Janes treasures. i recommend it.

  • All.

  • brutal.

  • Nice...babbyyy

  • ouch Ferrell where's ur voice?/

  • It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn good.

  • Ritual de lo Habitual and Nothings Shocking are my favorite Janes albums.

  • Comment removed

  • shit singing from Perry, he did so much better in 2003. i feel for Chris, his bass playing was immaculate, but it's the Newstead syndrome, the original guy will always be better.

  • This is from 2003, dude. Hah.

  • no shit. I was saying that he sang so much better at other gigs/performances from that year

  • Sorry bout that. Misread it.

    Cheers.

  • all good, cheers

  • in my opinion this is the shit!...maybe not this particular song, but strays, i never really got their earlier stuff but this is great!

  • i agree. I like their earlier stuff but I'm more of a strays fan. Though I didn't listen to them growing up as it seems most people who like that era better did. The beginning of this kinda sounds similar to the beginning of porcelina of the vast oceans by smashing pumpkins... maybe the same chords ?

  • i'm trying to get into them but i just don't get it no offence anyone but could someone explain to me what their about?

  • anything off the album "Nothings Shocking"...that is my answer.......

  • Or ritual de lo habitual (except been caught stealing)

  • ur trippin thats their best known song BCS >:[

  • Well imagine listening to this type of music in the 80's. Nobody sounded like them when they released Ritual de habitual. This was at one time one of a kind music. I would consider them to be the pioneers of modern rock. Thats what they are about.

  • exact.........i was there........

  • Back in the 80's when hair bands were king and we had alot of "rock by numbers" lowest common denomitator music. They were different, creative and innovative. Ritual de Habitual is one of my all time fav CD's.

  • you gotta listen to their older shit, or their live performances, try listening to jane says from the kettle whistle album with steel drums

  • the songs on strays are almost as good as the old stuff but old janes had this magic vibe, this feeling of being part of somthing more than just music it would be impossible to duplicate that

  • You're right. It's still very good, but it's just not the same without Eric Avery

  • well, now avery is back!

  • I always do it wrong, but it feels right

  • shut up, seriously, these songs are strong and the band are alot older so of course its not going to be exactly the same, but they still have all the skill of before, i mean strays could have been horrible but its one of the best comeback albums ever made ...

  • what happened to Janes? They'll never be what they used to be in the late 80s-90s when they where on drugs, many women and strung out haha

  • Perfection!! except the dodgy editing. No need to dramatise the camera work, Janes make the drama

  • yea i know let us see the fucking band for at least 10 seconds without the camrea changingg

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else hate it when the producers behind the filming of these rock shows feel the need to change the camera angle with every quarter beat of a song? I hate that!

  • this, strays and just because are my fave tracks on Strays

  • no doubt that perry "always having a good time..."

  • Long Live JA !!!

  • good song but singer looks loike he's from planet of the apes

  • thats cos he is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! excellent!!! great sound, awesome to see them thumping in a small venue, wish i was there. unbelievable, jane's forever, perry is the best of our time

  • reminds me of my early years ...nostalgia

  • Ahh this is awesome. Great chord changes, awesome bass line. A great live show

  • the bass line is awesome in this song, its my favorite part. I hope Jane's addiction goes back on tour.

  • yea man, the bass is sweet. this is a great album, lots of great riffs and catchy but badass shit.

  • he really knew how to capture Avery's sound, huh

  • i think eric avery had left by this album. It's Chris Chaney on bass

  • yeh, thats what i meant. Chaney managed to really capture Avery's sound

  • ahh, sorry, misread comment :S yeah, he sure did to Avery justice in this concert

  • Brilliant song writing and fantastic live performance! Can I get a copy of this show somewhere?

  • that might hurt

  • this song rocks, fuck you people who hate it.

  • dave rules!!

  • of course he does !

  • go dave!!! go!!! \m/

  • This is a cool vid

  • all songs are my favourite..

  • excellent performance - I never loved this song till I saw this live performance... unreal from the greatest band ever

  • perry is good singing man.

  • perry fuckin rules<3<3

  • i dont know why people hate perry, i think the guy is tremendously an individual just like kiedis. The only commercial rock singers right now and bono who are really themselves

  • amen... perry is fucking sweet..

  • I have never heard anyone say they didn't like Perry and if they do, he's gonna go on makin that cash while they be what ever problem dey is.

  • haha exactly man. here in brampton, ontario a lot of people dont really like him, they call him a homo and stuff. I agree he maybe very flamboyant but so was robert plant, jimi hendrix and more. being flamboyant or not, musicians have their image and perry's is great:D i miss the dreads lol

  • Chaney brings some great work to the table, this song grooves hard.

  • Perry is god.

  • this is great.I wish I watched this TV show!

  • perry sounds a little like jim morrison at the beginning

  • Jane, I love you!

    Peace

  • janes addiction freaking rule!!!!!!!!!

  • JA forever in my heart

  • thank you for posting this, i love JA since my 14.

  • These guys are very good live--have a good Indy rock kind of sound--very original material!!

  • Simplemente excelente!!

  • Go Iggy!
