This orchestra does an excellent job. There are so many mangled and slow versions of this piece out there! I know it's a very difficult piece.

I know it's mainly a woodwinds piece but it would have been nice to hear a little more brass in it. I'm just used to hearing the marching band version. lol :D We played this my Freshman year and I play trumpet. It's a really great piece. It has been my favorite piece all three years of high school so far.

One of the outstanding compositions in classical music. With this composition alone Glinka elevated himself to the ranks of the greats.
