  • Man, this is a sick joke. =D Goulash is a soup, goddamnit! =DDD Goulash is nothing to do with noodles. =DDDD

Authentic? We're laughing on this recipe. XD

  • This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Goulash. This is a plain joke.

  • Actually Goulash is a soup in Hungary, a stew in the US and Canada.

However Goulash is an ingredient spice and vegetable mix that is used to make either a soup or stew in various consistency.

Hungarian paprika, bellpeppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, celery, carrots and carraway. One can use any meat, fish, chicken, pork, beef, or no meet at all.

  • Gulyás is a soup. And you do NOT need a gulyás-cream to cook the soup, or the "pörkölt" what they are actually explaining.

However still thx to the uploader... It is always nice to see that people like or beloved food.

  • Thats Not Goulyas its almost like some sort of Paprikas Haha

  • This is not the Hungarian goulash, the goulash is a soup. This is a totally different food.

  • First of all,the Goulash is a soup so what you're making here is called porkolt(which is similar to something called STEW)Secondly this has nothing to do with goulash not even porkolt.Ask or learn from any Hungarian how to make goulash or porkolt, then practise it and just after show the world if you got skill, knowledge about it. MANY PEOPLE LIKE YOU have spread recipe they know nothing about.DON'T MAKE A SHAME ON AN ANCIENT,TRADITIONAL WORLD FAMOUS HUNGARIAN FOOD.YOU BETTER STAY AT STEAK,BURGER

  • @pumping2 Why don't you show us how to make it? I would love to learn!

  • @AirrowRocket

Hello there! Feel free to pm me, if you need recipes. I happily translate a real hungarian recipe for you!

  • For a Hungarian goulash, you do not need goulash creme and egg noodles. goulash have nothing to do with them nooles! How about a little red ground paprika? Without that, the goulash will never be goulash. Those huge pieces of onions look terrible...

    This food is not goulash...

  • thats not goulash

  • True. needs freshly ground paprika to make it the real deal

  • I once ate beef goulash in a place called

red tulip, a Hungarian restaurant in NYC. It was really good.

  • The Dog and Gun in Keswick (English Lake District) used to do an amazing Goulash. The best one I have ever had, but these days they have let their standards slip and gone for profit.

  • Nice tasting dish. You don't use water! the liquid comes from the large amount of onions used. I bought the paste from our local Hungarian shop. I bet you can get it online.

  • @hoghtonlords We do use water, otherwise the whole thing would become a stew. Goulash is a SOUP, not a stew so it obviously needs some water. :)

  • It can be made both ways soup or stew. I prefer the stew because it's less watered down :)

  • @muffemod Yes, I know. Unfortunately many foreign people consider the stew "goulash", too, however in Hungary we call the stew "pörkölt", and "gulyás" (goulash) is strictly a soup.

  • Otherwise, as a Hungarian (a real Hungarian and not a Hungarian-American or something like that), who has tasted a lot of bad bland goulash abroad, I would be careful to consider this food in the video authentic until tasting the real stuff in Hungary (and not in a Hungarian restaurant whatsoever).

Please watch this video to see what we consider truly authentic... /watch?v=SIAXzLiZrm0 ;)

  • Yes well then I still prefer the thicker one :) whatever it's proper name is. Either dish is delicious and certainly we can on that. ;)

  • *agree on that ;)

  • I always thought goulash was way more complicated. Definitely going to give this a try. Thanks for posting!
