I was born a coulpe of years after this day, and watching this i feel so utterly happy, even though I didn't experience it. I'm so happy for these people, this makes me very proud of my country, and it's probably the only moment I actually feel "German" and am happy about it. This was the most glorious day in our history...
Thanks so much for saving and sharing this. It is of course actually BBC Breakfast News on the following day, 10 November 1989. I'm still trying to find the BBC 9 O'Clock News from the previous evening, which would have been just a couple of hours after the press conference in which the opening of the Wall was announced.
fucking great moment in history...i was born in 1988 but this brings tears to my eyes...knowing that a totalitarianism government is gone...and a country can be whole again...and not act like a foreign country between one city separating it between east and west ..i really wish i was old enough to be there...even as a tourist (if i could of been back than) ...to expierence wonderful history of even seeing the soliders giving up their borders and going....HOME...TO GERMANY..not west or east
Well I was privilaged to watch this happening live and to record it - I recorded it at the time because for all of us who cared it was very emotional. Glad it touched you !
@shakysyxx and nobody could even believe even since Gorbachow begun to put reforms starting from 1985 ! But it must have been a delusion for OST BERLINER to find out what Capitalism really is : a Satanic institution
@shakysyxx : I was 6 but I remember sitting in front of the TV, not understanding what was happening, but understanding that this was a very happy and tremendously emotional moment for my parents who grew up with family in eastern Germany they weren't allowed to visit... i still have tears in my eyes when I see this!
I'm not from berlin but, i feel like berliner now!!! Heil berlin...

" Few people had west german money, but this night they were not going to need it ", human generosity in an atrocity is really remarkable!.

If your dates correct - BBC News 9th November 1989? Then this was also Jill Dando's birthday, She'd have been 28 in that clip.
