this band is filled with people who are completely unlike myself and id never hang out with but i dont give a shit this song is amazing and always makes me feel good
The 1 dislike on here must have been from some grumpy old man searching for "Family Values" or Sarah Palin and, instead, found a bunch of gloriously talented young people who — unlike him — truly know how to appreciate the fun and excitement of life.
@sobodude You mean like the kinds of people who have to spray us with their political venom at every turn even when it's 100% unwarranted? I'm really getting sick of people like you who have to put everyone into a little slot and stick labels on them to make yourselves feel good about where you are in life. This isn't the place for that kind of bigotry.
this song hooked me from the first time i heard it on tv. it changes everything in my mind & body when i hear it. now i no who made it & i feel invigorated by it every time i hear it on the commercial even tho the talking overshadows it, i keep on singing. na, na, na, na, na....(: youu hooo
Yes indeed, I just saw that Advil ad and said to myself too, that is Locket & Key for sure!
So the question is, did DtheB approve it's use? It is not the actually band recorded in the ad, but a carbon copy of that piece of music, so they would have to have given permission and received royalties right?
@cosmiccarl Yes indeed they do get royalties. Well, it depend on if they got screwed out of their publishing right by their record company. If they retained at least 12% of their publishing right then the majority shareholder (usually record company) can't negotiate without them and thus they'd get to negotiate the split as well. You best believe that Wyeth Pharmaceuticals paid a pretty nice penny for that snippet of music in that commercial. I just hope the band got the better part of it.
the beauty about this band is that they are not manufactured. casual dress on stage. their mission is the music. great song !

It was recorded at a House of Blues but I don't know what city it was. There's about a dozen of them now.

Funny thing, I like it better with the changes made for the commercial. I find it a bit dull in it's original form.

looked it up after hearing the advil commercial, that bass player is pretty sexy and its a good song.

Been hearing this melody on the Advil commercial - sounds just like Locket & Key by Donna the Buffalo...
