rockabilly is a musical genre just like any other one that inspires lifestyles.
no one's boiling down anything.
many styles such as punk and hip hop also inspire certain styles.
so garveergor before you start talking shit to some poor girl inform yourself on some rockabilly. go to viva or something. rockabilly is rock and roll, beautiful made up ladies and hot rods...
Wow. Garveergor is a self-righteous little bitch who probably hangs out with a bunch of punk-ass little highschool kids who dress in the retro 50's fashion and call themselves "rockabilly." Get a fucking life you stupid little kid. Just because you feel that that rockabilly is talent doesn't mean you have the right to talk shit to some girl trying to help people learn how to put make-up on. I'm out.
No offense, but Rockabilly was, and is, a musical style. But for some reason, idiots like to boil it down to what they can "see", instead of working to become good at an artform. So everyone shows up looking like fashion fools and they call it "rockabilly". What a joke and a shame that people who actually had talent have to endure the "modern" fashion disaster called "rockabilly". Rockabilly used to be music, now it's bullshit make-up. Thanks---go get some talent, people.
I apologize, I had no idea about it even being a musical genre. I don't really know much about the "fashion" either except that it is inspired by a vintage sort of look. In any case, thank you for the information and I apologize if I have offended you with labeling my makeup look as such. I never use the term and meant it only loosely for this random look I did one day.
I don't think you should be sorry to her. Rockabilly was made popular in the fifties hence the retro image assaciated with it. It is a genre, but it's really common for people to look what they listen to like punk clothing. or how lots of people who listen to ska wear black and white checkerboard kinds of stuff.

I like your technique but it is really hard to see the colors of your eyeshadow because of the yellow lighting....do you think you can re-do this look in non-yellow lighting? :)

I hate thicker eyeliner. It looks trashy and it is more susceptable to running. If you do use alot lighter colours are better. You won't get the Tammy Baker look.
ah finally someone with short hair and does tutorials!!!
I had the longest hair for the longest time and then suddenly I cut it into a bob (I didn't cry, so proud of myself) so do you have any hints/tips for styling short hair? My hair's straight naturally and I guess this is useless since your hair's curly but I've always wanted to curl it...:(
I am not the best at doing hair but I can share some tips and things I do to style my hair and ways to wear it short. Since I don't have straight hair it will be sort of hard but I will come up with something. Hm, I will have to think of some things and tips I can share and I'll make a video this weekend. If you subscribe you'll get an update on it. ^^;
Aw thanks! It wasn't too hard actually. First I put a clear coat over all my nails. Then I got some white nail polish, the one used for tips for french manicures. I got wet and wild brand and it cost me 99 cents. Then, after waiting for it to dry, I just did a small stripe at the top of each nail in black and after waiting for that to dry topped it with another clear coat. :]
Thanks so much! My hair is naturally wavy/curly. I'd love to do a hair tutorial although a lot of my hair is just letting it air dry. What sort of hair tutorial would you like to see? :D
