Yes, deuteronomy was written 900 years before the new testament. And the way i see it the entire nation of israel killed and persecuted their prophets. Meaning they did not keep that law. There is no apostasy law in Quran and in fact the Quran has over 30 verses guaranteeing freedom. Hadith are oral traditions compiled centuries after Muhammad and many hadiths are not true .
Only Quran speaks for Islam and not Sunni and Shia religions which follow their own hadiths.

As for the apostasy, it is true there are opinions from scholars that anyone who changes their religion should be killed, but those are fringe opinions that nobody cares about. The views of those schools of thought she refers to here are actually regarding those who leave Islam and commit treason by engaging in war against Muslims. If someone commits treason against the US according to the law it is punishable by death.

I highly doubt that this is fake. Right here in Ontario Canada we have had two cases of honour killings recently. One in Mississauga where a father killed his 18 year old daughter because she refused to wear the habib (read: head rag). And just a few months ago an aunt and two daughters were killed by the family in a car and then was pushed into the river to make it look like an accident.
I think the religion is just plain disgusting .
