I find this quite intresting you see it seems like the bonobos are much smarter then people potray them and i dont like it when people say stuff like "Stupid animal" because really they are smater then anoyone could imagine. maybe in the future they will be smart enough to communicate with us verbaly... but then again what do i know im only 13
The narration is horrible. The interesting part is what protecting the body means socially and yet the narrator starts talking about the extent to which bonobos lay own battle plans. Ridiculous.
seems insensitive to remove a body by carelessly rolling it around with sticks in the company of the other bonobos.
Fascinating response; yes. But knowing them to be so empathetic, emotionally responsive, and seemingly self aware, it seems like a no brainier not to come in and start poking dead bodies with sticks.
Am I wrong? Couldn't they have tried to isolate the others? Use protective gloves and a stretcher?
@jbartz That's what I was thinking. Bonobos are very human-like, so it seems like the staff would know better. Maybe they were TRYING to illicit some kind of response.
@jbartz it's complex :S it was a bad moment for everybody in their family. Is like when somebody dies in your family and you are asked to cremate or bury him/her :O You think... why is this question is being posed to me today? I don't want to decide anything, just let me alone and in silence near my loved one who passed away. You're like a protagonist in a horror movie. I think that's what the bonobos felt and wanted. To be alone.
