hmm never tried that. i dont think that we eat as much corn (on the cob) here in England. Wouldn't the outside just be burnt and the inside uncooked. Would it be better to parboil it first.
I never had that happen to me. I think the chances are small because fresh core usually contains much water. By the time the fire evaporated the water on the surface, the inside is already almost cooked. Also turning the corn often helps too.
