no, you are wrong. there is no sucj thins as cls 550 amg.. the one your dad probably has is a regular cls 550 with amg bumpers. it only looks like an amg. no amg brakes, no amg engine but amg bumpers and rims
there is more to it then bumpers and rims, i have one with AMG kit, not sure all it includes, but i can shift right on the stearing wheel, not there on regular CLS, definitely few more sport features....

I've driven Mercedes as well as S2K. These cars have different purposes, and mean different things to different people. Both have good sides, hard to compare.
If I want to haul around a few people, many interior extras, smooth, quiet ride featuring sloppy, boat-like handling, I'd take one of these Mercedes.
If I want adrenaline sound, no fluff/distractions, top-down, no embarrassing boat-like over-steer, perfect 50/50 balance, exact control over the car, faster, this S2000 for the win.

Anyone that tries to compare a loud, raw, manual-only, two-seat roadster with big, refined, automatic-only, luxury-performance sedans is obviously not a driver, but someone who either doesn't have their license yet, or sees cars as purely a status symbol and a means to get groceries.

I think the Honda's 2800 lb. curb weight saved it in this race. Most of Mercedes vehicles are 3500 lbs. and up. Even so, the honda would have to have about 300bhp to pull past a V12 coupe like that. If any of those Merc's had been software tuned, I think it would be a different outcome.
@cookiehead2 this s2k is probably semi built not on full boost, ever heard of cft ? (central Florida turbo) they have a DAILY DRIVEN 880WHP HONDA S2000 that beats highly modified turbo mustangs, 1000 hp Supras etc, yes if there was more done 2 the Merc's they would be faster no doubt and I like them but there is no limit with these little Jap cars, this is a simple turbo s2k, check up 701hp s2k from hell if cft s2000 ! :)
@TheMugenboy You would have serious transmission issues with a S2000 at 800hp, even if the engine is completely rebuilt. Torque spike would require the entire drive train to be modified, and after all that, I seriously doubt it would be much a daily driver.

The current SLK55 has a N/A engine in it. The last supercharged engine that was in the SLK was the SLK32 AMG and that hasn't been produced for almost five years now.

That S2000 is amazing. As an European I've been in Benzes and they are really nice, but as I also owned a 2005 APII S2000 I have to say that it's not something that should be compared to the Mercs. Amazing S2K btw, 470 to the wheels is just insane.

That S2000 is amazing. As an European I've been in Benzes and they are really nice, but as I also owned a 2005 APII S2000 I have to say that it's not something that should be compared to the Mercs. Amazing S2K btw, 470 to the wheels is just insane.

I don't get it. when you are and the other guy loses, it doesn't mean that he is slow. Those AMGs are pretty quick if you think about how heavy they are. no need to post bad stuff about AMGs. They were all stock other than one exhaust on the CLS. My car is not the same class as theirs.

the other cls was 550 not 55 so slk was faster, about the cl63 i think cls63 beat it because of the exhaust he has, eisenmann exhaust gives around 25hp.. all of the drivers are from turkey : )

How can you say that it is not an S2000?? I would really love to hear what your guess is?? Please tell me, if it is not an S2000, then what is it?? Don't worry when I spent all that money into the car, I also changed the mirrors with C-West Carbon Fiber ones. If you watch my other videos you can see it more clear. No stock car in the world has those mirrors The car is not a hardtop, the convertible top is on.
