@kkburnout Nothing, the judge got it wrong because of politics. She was Admiral Satee to a tee. But now I have a record due to the judge's protectionism.

@harleykman Christ, could you people stop polluting everything good with your brainwashed nonsense? Please? Can you leave important things alone? Can you read a single article that recognizes the inanities and hypocrisies of the Ron Paul "Revolution," can you read a damn book about economics and look at how the world was before federal banks? Can you actually examine the issues you claim to be talking about rather than letting a racist Rand-bot make all your decisions for you? Fuck *off.*
@Luchiadh There are almost no hypocrisy or inconsistency in Paul's message. I may not agree with all the man's points but he is STILL the best candidate right now
.
Better than banker Romney or serial flip flopper Gingrich or warmonger Obama
.
So though he's not perfect I still will cast my vote for Paul. And you would be wise to do so too, unless you want 4 more years of the same crapp we had under Bush and obama
@harleykman Except the man has unrealistic ideas, especially when it comes to foreign policy. Even if he has some good ideas, I don't think he'd make a good President. And in the end, even if he's the best guy ever, he's still not going to win so casting a vote for him is a waste.
One more reason why I wouldn't vote for him is that he doesn't accept evolution. To me that's akin to believing the earth is flat or that we didn't land on the moon, so that rules him out for me right away.
@Luchiadh P.S. As big a fan I am of Star Trek, Babylon 5, and other great classic, NONE of them is as important as ending the last 11 years of tyranny we have endured. Turn it off and start PARTICIPATING in the reality of our declining debt-ridden country. Time to make a stand" as Sisko or Sheridan would say.
@harleykman I didn't mean just they ruin Star Trek, dude. I meant that you cannot go anywhere on the web without someone piping up about Ron Paul. Pleading 'states rights' in cases of gay marriage, abortion, and racism is a bad idea. Ron Paul wants to reverse forty years of progressive social victories. His economic policy is absurd and unworkable. Like I said, find some articles that actually discuss the things RP is talking about, and read them with your brain turned on.
@Luchiadh I agree. State's rights is a good thing in some cases. Obviously gun laws should be different for Rural Texas than it is for NYC for example. But when it comes to civil rights, the federal government has to step in. Let's say in the past we had left it to the states to decide on whether interracial marriage or slavery were legal
It should be like two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner. Just because the wolves outvote the sheep doesn't mean the sheep should be eaten
@RockBanned Exactly. Some things (like allowing deeply racist statements to be made on your letterhead and "not finding out" for almost two decades) are just wrong. I don't need to see whether my state legislature is smart enough or ethically evolved enough to go along with it - there needs to be a flat mandate. We don't -vote- on these things, that's why they're called "Rights."
MEAN WHILE IN 2011: BLACKS, WOMEN, ARABS, ASIANS, MEXICANS, NATIVE AMERICANS PRETTY MUCH ANYONE WHO ISNT A NON WHITE MALE HAS NO RIGHTS! IN FACT F..K IT NOBODY HAS RIGHTS.

@cwross1976 No, there are two kinds of people: Those that believe in individual liberty, including the right of Free Speech for all, or those that do not. Anyone person that would ban any speech, idea or thought "for the public good" is not acting in the public good, but in his or her own self-interest. When we welcome those that peacefully disagree with us, we are welcoming those that make our own beliefs stronger. If they cannot endure dissent, our beliefs must change.
@PeeboTyson You completely miss the point (see the longer video on habeas corpus) - the judge here judges worf based on his father. Tarses based on his lineage. Picard because he was a borg and forced to divulge information.
You cannot judge someone based on their lineage, their forefathers. And that's an ideal to live by.
this is why trek is such a great series, it reminds us all too often, that were all doing it wrong, and thanks for actors like Patrick stewart, conveys it in such a way, that we ALL get it... Bravo patrick, bravo! thanks for the upload too, a great lil speech from a great show,,,
I loved the next part - I can't remember it verbatim, but she puts the final nail in her "coffin" - "...How DARE you utter my father's name!!! You dirty his name when you speak it!!...I'VE BROKEN BIGGER MEN THAN YOU, PICARD!!!"

Growing up watching "The Next Generation" (TOS went off the air before I was born) the character of Picard was, for me, a role model for how to be a decent human being. He still is.
This was most definitely my favourite episode of TNG. Those words ring true in this day and age, now more than ever. As R.A. Salvatore one wrote, "Principles and values are of no use if the idealist cannot live up to his own standards."
this is actually true- when you take away someone elses freedom you are damaging your own freedom. hence why in a free society you must let & respect other peoples freedom too, not just yours.
To everyone bringing our current political issue's to this amazing performance and words of wisdom, I question your judgement. and I continue on to argue that no man in our current political regime is like Picard. As BMassey1987 put it so succinctly, Picard portrays a man of true intelligence, and integrity as we've so lost in our office's of anyone in power. of course this applies to the "United" States of America
@tubehows4life I'd agree but politically incorrect now means "Conservatives believe the following" ironically they've buried the idea as a concept for freedom.
Star Trek over and over again matched or beat human error with such blindingly obvious statements of wisdom like this. This episode aired in the early nineties, many years before people started accusing people of being a terrorist just because they were descendants of a certain nation or of the same religious beliefs as radicals that took those beliefs too far. I wonder how many people see the correlation now, or saw it back when this was first on TV?
What I like about this is it could easily apply to anyone on any topic, whether its freedom of expression in Indonesia, homophobia in Uganda, or the war on drugs in the USA.
Amidst all this fighting, I feel I must interject and speak with reason, not slanted accusations and false negativity. Picard's words here are representative of an understanding and educated class of Men. Men who use judgment wisely, instead of fearfully. Men who build up and encourage his compatriots rather than break them down and utter empty, callous insults. Most importantly, Men who stand up for the rights of all in a sea of oppressive culture.
Best quote ever. There are few other quotes so deep and intelligence regarding basic human rights. My favorite quote, memorized since this episode originally aired.
Caesar512 --- Thanks so much for posting this beautifully written and acted segment. I just love it. My father was an award winning journalist and used to say things very close to this about freedom and how denying one person' rights was paramount to enslaving all. Just wonderful! Thanks!
Yet man who has too much freedom often destroys himself. To such actions one does to another and still have the right to do it doesn't make it any better or worse than taking away a person's right to spread hate, or censor, or villafy one who is innocent while demonizing the ones who are innocent. We'd be acting out of ignorance than will.
and that goes for cyclists right to safely traverse public roads without fear of arrogant and impatient drivers running us over or knocking us off because they are in a rush to get to the next red light and sit in traffic. GIVE US A BRAKE will ya!!!
@Caesar512 On the contrary, it has alot to do with this video. Gene Roddenberry is a 33rd degree mason, and part of the new world order elite. He, along with his mason connections, put together the Star Trek series for the purpose of spreading their messages subliminally that a single world government is the solution to all our problems. So ha!, This video clip corresponds with part of their predictive proggramming. so, fight the new world order.
@deceiver123m "thats what she said"....now that's just sad. At one time you seemed to have a point to make. 33rd degree masons!!! Have you been keeping tabs on the Roddenberry's for the last 33 generations? Do you have their family tree etched on a secret toilet paper diagram wrapped in tinfoil and shoved up your butt to keep it safe from the aliens?
@TheBaconlaser make up your mind mongrel, do you have a discussion in mind or just to let out a bunch of insults to make yourself feel like a big boy.
@chessman117 oh great your fucking face looking like a vaguely gender confused cat. By the way your mother thumbs you upped for me dumb cunt piece of shit. By the way i hope your grandchildren get raped.
@deceiver123m look just go back to your area of youtube where the rest of the mad people make videos about the new world order while being in a state of delusional rampage. ok thanks bye now
@chessman117 oh, that gonna work on me now isnt it, the old "look" just go fuck yourself and die. In addition to that go fuck your father in law you piece of scum. You have the aptitude of a jelly fish, and im sure you are thrice as cowardly.
@chessman117 Go keep licking your "stars" boots, omg how can they talk about star trek, boo hooo i love star trek its my whole life cause as an individual im quite worthless, dont talk about my beloved star trek like that deceiverrrr nooooooooooooooooooo... KAHHHNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
You need to shut the fuck up. Damn loser that believes in this New World Order, Antichrist, Second Coming, end times prophecy is real. At least I know Star Trek is just a TV show but at the same time it's still inspiring towards people with its philosophy.
Libertarians think of this every time their evil state government makes them buckle their seatbelts.

Use his example to build and love.

Thanks!
juliebn 1 year ago 43
@juliebn it's no problem; I find it inspiring too.
Caesar512 1 year ago 12
@juliebn

DOWN WITH THE NEW WORLD ORDER. strong family ties is the key.
deceiver123m 1 year ago
@deceiver123m It would be awful hypocritical of me to remove spam comments on a video about freedom, but please, don't spam my videos, thanks.
Caesar512 1 year ago 3
