Indeed it will. Let's not forget that Murphy isn't an ordinary human anymore; he's a cyborg now. Just one punch from a cyborg would be FAR more deadlier than a punch from an ordinary man, especially if he were to do it to your face or head.
A cheap trick on all the ED209's people can use on the last stages is use the dual laser gun. All you have to do to get a one shot kill is fight the boss with one duel laser shot bullet as soon as the boss comes out fire and it takes all of his life in one shot. I discovered this by accident of course while playing in the arcade but I could not believe I was the only person that new. Try it!!
Is there anyone good on Youtube at this game I used to play this game and beat it with one coin. Oh everyone does the samething on the first stage the get rid of of the tri-gun which is stupid. You can kill the first before he even walks into the screen with that gone. If you really know the secrets of this game most of the bosses are one shot kills or you can beat them in under 5 secs. I need to find this game and post people are really sad at this gave on Youtube.
One of the finest film adaptations and one of the best games of the 80s and it still holds up today and remains great fun to play. Robocop is amazing, especially considering when it was released. The programmers really went all out and produced a classic. Data East is long gone but Robocop remains as a testament to well made and entertaining game.
In the apartment building I lived in last year they had the machine for this. I dumped actual money in until I one credited it.
One time I died right after I killed the last guy in the last room. His stray bullet hit me and the continue counter counted down. I rushed in my pockets for change and pulled out coins, but they scattered all over the floor. I ducked down and chased them around and they kept rolling until finally I popped all the quarters in and hit start. 0 Seconds left. :P Intense!
Christ, you're good. You must've been intimately familiar with their attack patterns and all before playing this. I probably put in $20 worth of virtual quarters to beat this in MAME.
@RolexTharsus lol you're so right. I remember the first time I played the Amiga version on my friends A500 and the disappointment that ensued. A sloppy and lazily programmed ST port that lacked so much of the brilliance seen in the arcade original.

@Mr523cbg The only problem is that MGM owns the rights to Robocop making it impossible to put in a Data East collection.

Eventually, Robocop would face a struggle trying to define his new 4th directive: "Do it for the LULZ."
halidefox 2 years ago
Would have been cooler if they made Robocop just look straight ahead whenever he fires up or diagonal like in the movies. XD

What is Robocop yelling occasionally in the first level? "Call it"?
Also, I love that hilarious falsetto girl voice - "Thank you!"

I think he's saying "Drop it!", as in "drop the weapon".
