  • @egokick Men and women voluntarily signed up because they believed the lies from Mr. Bush about 9/11, WMD and all the other crap shoved down Americans throats by the MSM and government. They also did not know how rigorously they were going to be brainwashed once they signed on the dotted line. My father served in WWII; Pearl Harbor. Until his death at the age of 79, his nightmares only intensified. The war never ended for him or his friends. My heart goes out to these men and women.

  • Because this guy is horrible at target aquisition doesn't mean all men on the ground were. Maybe he should have been a cook instead of infantry.

  • that was great! props to him for standing up for whats right

  • average sex > america

  • THIS IS WHY WE NEED RON PAUL so other countries don't think we all are a bunch of cruel power hungry people that are full of idiots there are millions that people who thinks our government is a bunch of shit I HATE THE U.S government and am an AMERICAN! SO yes hate our government but don't hate those who doesn't wanna fight for it, i don't think its worth my life to fight for another country unless it showed a world THREAT WE DEFEND OUR OWN AND STAY OUT OF POLICING THE WORLD RON PAUL 2012!!!

  • Winning hearts and minds is the 2nd biggest lie. The biggest was the; Screwball, W, Cheney, CIA, Wolf, Powell - WMDs.

  • The point of this video is to show what kind of behavior is rewarded over there, not an individual psychos actions. This is a normal guy, who was put into an abnormal situation.

And of course, to demonstrate what a gigantic clusterfuck, self interested pointless piece of shit that whole war was. The Middle Eastern hatred of the US is totally justified.

  • @insanewithanger Let's not mix words, he was not conscripted, he voluntarily signed up.

  • @egokick Unlike 1968, flipping burgers was probably this kids only other career choice.

  • RON PAUL is the only way out of this mess.

  • @therealbradshaw Want a tiny central government and no regulations, move to Somalia. Find a country that thrives under Paul's ideology. They don't exist. The happiest, healthiest, best educated countries have many social(ist) programs. Racists hate sharing ... Paul chose not to vote on NDAA, all blow and no go!

  • @raymondguy

Actually, a study on Somalia showed that the country compared quite favourably with 42 other African countries as measured by 13 different variables. It also compared favourably with its own situation prior to 1991. Of course, a decade or two of reduced levels of government in Somalia could not possibly make up for the animism, the tribalism, the underinvestment, and the mistreatment of women that still prevail in much of Africa. But keep on worshiping the state, bud. ;)

  • @hXcDiedWithHitler I'm so tired of people comparing the free market to Somalia. Somalia is what happens when you have a free market with no central government to protect it. Anarchy can be compared to Somalia, not a free market.

  • @apell711

A free market with a central government protecting it is, by definition, not a free market at all. Truly free markets protect and regulate themselves without government intervention at all. So Somalia does have a free market. However, comparing Somalia to industrialized countries such as the US is just silly.

  • @hXcDiedWithHitler The free market can protect from a LOT of things, but not from foreign governments' exploitation by dumping chemicals in Somalia. And you have so much war between the tribes and there's no unity BECAUSE of the vacuum left by the lack of central government which would protect the country's sovereignty and defend it against interference of the market. Ron Paul 2012 :-D

  • @apell711

Oh, oh. Okay, I see what you mean now. Ron Paul 2012 :)

  • @apell711 Either way, we libertarians think there is a lot more government than there should be-in the West, and in Somalia, too. That country's many small, regional governments ruled by local warlords are better than neighbouring central governments in some ways, but worse in others.

  • @apell711

Notably, these mini-governments regulate economic activity far less, leading to some better economic results than their neighbours, but they are just as bad or worse in violating human rights and in jeopardizing people's safety through war. Clearly, this is no libertarian paradise.

  • @raymondguy

Also, it's funny that you think Ron Paul is a racist. The president of NAACP seems to think otherwise.

    dailypaul(dot)com/193306/ron-paul-newsletters-fact-from-fiction

  • sounds like this guy is what is wrong with the war, the war didnt create him. it gave him an excuse. killing people because they are angry or pumped up from a fire fight is a sign of a poorly trained and ill equipped soldier.

  • Dudes just telling us what we already knew. We seen Generation Kill. We seen the photos and video footage of the Marines gettin crazy. We know it's your Higher Ups calling the shots. But you still did what you did son, and you should now do your time.

  • Obama and all the gop presidential candidates want war with Iran- RON PAUL IS THE ONLY Anti war candidate!!! put your party asside and vote- we cant be the worlds monster anymore!

  • @FutureLaugh i can't stand how he's being ignored by the media! well that won't last much longer.

  • It frustrates me to know that so many Americans genuinely believe that we are the country of righteous world police and leadership, When things like this are exactly why the rest of the world actually think of Americans as assholes

  • well i guess people living in the US would like to think that we now live in a time that is different and special compared to the past. That human rights and values are viewed higher than ever, that wars are much more humane compared to historical wars and that as the World Police, our troops are all righteous angels landing upon foreign countries in the eyes of the local citizens. But no, troops still turn barbaric in the field of war, killing and raping innocents.

  • Thaat biitch taaawlks soooooo ssslllloooowww.

  • Obviously this doesn't excuse what he did. He never claimed that by doing this hes exonerating himself. I don't know where people are getting that connection. If this video goes viral and shows the other side of the story, who knows how many innocent lives this could save.

  • this breaks my heart, war is complicated and cruel

  • How is it the government's fault that he engaged in illegal activities? He implies that the government sponsored or endorsed his illegal activities by giving him the medals, but in his report, I know he did not describe his actions at the time the same way he did in this video. If he had described them the way he did in this video, he would have been court marshaled.

  • alot of people on here are for the iraq war, but really and truly what the fuck do you know. this dude was front line assault. look at him now? a wreck because of the lives he took. god bless his soul for he has repented his sins.

  • do people honestly believe the soldiers overseas are really behaving like caring loving uncle Sam G.I. Joe as shown in the medias?

  • Why are people defending and applauding this guy? Am I missing something?

  • @xozzy18x

    Yes, you are missing something.

  • @4kitties Maybe you should elaborate. This guy deserves absolutely nothing but a jail sentence. He is no different than the guy down the street raping and killing innocents and says he is sorry and shows remorse afterwards. The only difference is that he works for the government, which should actually make him more accountable for his crappy actions. Nobody forced him to do what he did, he just got rewarded for it afterwards. My guess is you don't have the common sense to notice the difference.

  • You original statement, which I responded to, was open ended; could have gone either way. I am on the same side as you, so you can drop the troll like statements, "My guess is you don't have the common sense to notice the difference."

  • My gods! This is an eye-opener for me

  • If you don't want to go to war and you don't want the risk of having to kill people, DON'T JOIN THE MILITARY.

  • @sionus9 the point, so far over your head that it makes mine hurt.

  • Comment removed

  • @sionus9 The military is not meant to kill people. It's meant to protect it's citizens. What we are doing overseas is not protecting. We are invading. Going house to house and kicking peoples doors in to protect private industries oil stakes. That's not very American of us. How would you like North Korean troops here kicking down your door every other day? I have great respect for this soldier. He's one of the brave ones not afraid to tell us what is going on over there.

  • @unicron7 i understand what you are saying, and i agree with your point. However, military is not just about protection. Also, i am sorry for saying this, but the rest of the world would say this is actually very American....

  • To the people saying 'They protect your freedoms, you can't criticize them!' - LOL

Nobody or nothing is beyond criticism. Were our freedoms threatened by these people in Iraq? Hardly. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are colossal wastes of lives and money.

  • @MyGrassIsGreenest Criticize our politicians. But until you're out there bleeding, you are just a civilian in no position to make informed criticisms on the soldiers themselves.

  • YAY! I got a medal for killing babies! I rock!!!

  • @DMachine52 coward? holy shit you must be a fucking redneck.

  • @fauxx82 that's an insult to rednecks

  • @ryudom hahah true story my bad.

  • @DMachine52

    How is this cowardly?

Coward by definition is a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things. He endured it and had the courage to do it, therefore he is not a coward. I bet you are a coward, however, because you just sit on your computer all day lacking this said courage.

  • @Yamigekido Yeah let me prove my bravery by shooting a guy riding his bike down the fucking street.

You'd be singing a different tune if one of your family members was taken in this manner.

  • @jdterrell what does family members have to do with anything? it's because they are not related that you can maintain an objective perspective. if they were judgement would be clouded by emotions.

  • Good point Goonie79

  • Impressive that he is giving up this detailed information, but does this imply that there should be charges brought against him? What are his rights at this point?

  • Maybe just maybe he´s after salvation there. Good only that these things come to publicity. You small people think it makes anything any better to stand tall and shout "you monster". I think it is quite obvious the things he did are wrong and theres no excuse for them. Constructive thinking or lack of it led to this with him - how are we doing any better ?

  • 35% of USA budget goes on war.

    nice

  • You didn't fight your war honorably, that's your fucking problem. I hope the faces of the innocent people you shot haunt you. Every Iraqi civilian you shoot creates a family of insurgents and ruins months if not years of hard work.

  • I'm sorry but you will always be a monster. It's admirable that you are willing to open up about your experiences, but this does not excuse what you did.

  • @jdterrell fuck you, war is hell. You get the luxury of taking shots at a soldier like him because Americans are dying to protect your way of life. You are a small and cowardly person and you will never understand.

  • @greenguy109 Who's threatening our way of life? Nobody. We're in OTHER countries trying to establish US friendly power. That's not protecting our way of life, that's fucked up.

  • @kiwisdontbounce Whether or not you agree with the POLITICIANS who ordered our soldiers abroad, their sacrifice allows you to enjoy security at home. So until you're out there bleeding too, you're in no position to judge this man.

  • @greenguy109 Yes I get the luxury of not shooting at innocent civilians. It's hard but I manage to do it somehow.

This man didn't do anything for me. I have a feeling my "way of life" would be just fine if without people like him committing senseless acts of murder. This man is not a hero and deserves no applause.

I don't have to go to war to know that.

  • @jdterrell Not that it's my goal to get into an internet pissing contest, but you are only in a position to observe this man, not to judge him. You haven't served. You don't understand the horrors of war. It's easy to play high and mighty if you've never been over there.

  • What a fucking scumbag

  • Jon - people can change if they possess the good will and you clearly have done just that through the hardest way.Take care

  • I really don´t get these comments. They are what mostly make me sick. How many of you commentators have been sent to the war at that age? How many was too young and maybe vain and saw going to war as his best option to take forward his life? Not many I presume. It is governments responsibility, they are who should be blamed. I don´t have a clue how I would act and / or change if I´d be sent to war field and given guns, fed propaganda and said kill and don´t get killed

  • So what's the value of a medal? what are we debating?

  • 1:45

  • I HATE YOUR VOICE

  • oh you silly deluded americans, you so stooopid

  • i'm not american and this video makes me thing that this man is a murdered and needs to be in jail and not giving speeches.

  • If individuals cannot carry themselves honorably in the time of war, this does NOT make the war unjust. "At one point it was OK?" All soldiers that shot innocent people should be prosecuted.

  • Woah, Democracy Now! on Reddit? Maybe the hive is evolving

  • Fuck fat americunts!

  • Look at these comments.. America.. fuck NO.

  • Looks like a Colorado hippy with that hemp necklace

  • why cant you soldiers be more like snake?

  • @dalektaliban big boss?

  • @dalektaliban Shall we begin the cloning process? GENOME SOLDIERS EVERYWHERE.

  • @dalektaliban Until you kill a man, never question the nature of a soldier.

  • @Li0rE Wow, it doesn't sound like he's bragging at all. Did you not hear what he said? His commanding officer told his patrol squad he would reward those who stabbed targets to death for the first time.

You have to realize there are some fucked up people out there, most likely products of child abuse or a hereditary mental illness, that are so angry they'll do anything to blow off steam.

  • @erikglimpse He didn't sound like he was bragging, but he didn't sound like he was revealing corruption in the military either, per say. More, it sounds like he's confessing to serial murder, which is fitting, considering that's what he committed.

  • your a brave man Jon - the pain your going through must be unbearable .. look after yourself

  • part of the problem is, i think that in the US soldiers are treated like heroes, no matter what they did.

I spent 6 months there, soldiers are refered to as "Heroes" at every chance.

  • hippy

  • @IStevieI nou

  • @IStevieI

Stop being a damn fool, and please know that he risked his life for your right to say that. What have YOU done lately?

  • @itstands4TwoLetters I Saved a truck full of soldiers from a huge roadside IED three weeks ago

  • your a brave man and I applaud your testimony....

  • John Kerry Part 2?

  • everyone can do mistakes! He did , signing in a murder corps (marines) fighting for a murder country, the only one that can count more murdered people than christian church in human history. If only some more people will feel guilty to kill innocent people to drive a SUV in a metropolitan area.

  • So did this guy sign up for war and now he feels guilty. He sounds like he doesn't plan ahead very well.

  • @TheSchug Either you didn't watch the video and listen to what he said and understand what has happened in this invasion of the Middle East by the U.S. in the 00's or youre just an ignorant bastard. I say you are the latter. Also, it hasn't been a war, but a blatant invasion.

  • I meant fuck war.

  • Duck War.

  • @Ivantheserious when did we start a war with the ducks?

  • Racist are very ignorant people.

  • stupid cunt americans

  • So... he's pissed at the Marines because he made choices he regrets? He admits that they admitted acted different around news corespondents and killing out of excitement. He admits to do something illegal purely out of anger. He admits to roughing up people after kicking in their doors and terrorizing them at early hours purely because they were there.

How is this at all the fault of the USMC? I only see second guessing of HIS OWN choices. Fuck this guy, and fuck his disrespect for the service.

  • @AlcoholicPancake

maybe he was given orders? maybe it was at the beginning of the war?

  • @rydermlivingston He states that he's done some of them purely out of anger. In a related video when he talks about killing the " Fat Man " he admits that it was his choice to take him out. It's not the fault of the USMC that he took these actions, but his own reacting out of emotional distress and stupidity.

  • @AlcoholicPancake 4 day pass for the first marine to knife someone to death

  • @10phoenix01 That's not a direct order to go out and stab an innocent to death. Besides, that's one isolated incident that he talks about. And sure, they joke about how many people they kill over there, still though, he admits to firing into cities to " try out " new weapons.and admits to destroying mosques and homes on their own based upon their own will. This man is a disgrace to the USMC, and he didn't deserve those medals in the first place.

  • @AlcoholicPancake Ok so basically what you are saying is either the USMC is Incompetent because they don't know what their soldiers are doing or they are recruiting insane people

  • @AlcoholicPancake also if one general decided to take out an entire village that would be one isolated incident wouldn't it?

  • @10phoenix01 I'm saying that's one isolated instance that's referred to by him. Seriously, go watch the related video: Winter Soldier Burlinton Jon Turner (part 6 of 14)

He admits to almost everything being done by his choice of his own will. He's a disgrace to what the uniform that he once wore meant. His service ( I use that term VERY generously ) to the marines isn't what made him the monster he apologizes for being, it was his own immaturity and lack of responsibility.

  • @AlcoholicPancake LMFAO Proving the USMC is incompetent

  • @AlcoholicPancake also if you watch the video there is more than one marine in it

  • @AlcoholicPancake I completely agree with you.

This guy is a psychopath, and freely admits to committing atrocious acts that HE never even says he was commanded to.

It seems like he's bragging here.

  • @Li0rE Well, finally there's some reason in these comments. I agree though, it does seem quite a bit like bragging.

I'm just glad on one of the videos a number of people are saying that he's a disgrace to the service and the uniform, so we aren't the only ones with a working brain.

  • @AlcoholicPancake US Military has to report all shots fired. You can't just gun some one down without being ordered. This man is not bragging, he's distraught trying to explain some of the fucked up things he had to do.

  • @AlcoholicPancake Psst - hey, guess what? That's the point; he's being given medals for that behaviour and so are other marines that behaved just as he did. People need to be held accountable.

  • @AlcoholicPancake Since you have all of the answers: Why does the USMC condone these acts? Why was there a first-killing competition? He was obviously not the only one shooting at the Mosque, so multiple people were. It seems these actions are accepted. So wouldn't the USMC be at fault for condoning these acts? Play the "pass-the-buck" card as much as you'd like, but at least this guy's taking responsibility for his actions with admission. You're hiding behind a computer.

  • with that being said...

  • This seems like a moral issue with the individuals, not the war itself.

  • @SANNAFABICH

You know who else is butthurt? ALL THE INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO WERE KILLED FOR FUCKING NOTHING ON BOTH SIDES OF POINTLESS WAR.

  • @renaldomoonespecial Only if they were shot in the ass.

  • This woman has a speaking cadence very similar to Carl Sagan

  • Amy Goodman's grandparents escaped certain death in Russia pograms by escaping to America so their grand daughter could grow up free to spend every day of her benighted life squatting bare assed over the flag of the United States squirting filthy brown stuff on the country that gave her life.

  • @miyegombobayartsogt How ironic you say that. You seem to be doing the same yourself.

  • god i hate war

  • why are there 3 IDENTICAL versions of this video? I mean the first one has 87k views. no need to copy-paste.

  • @eLSeniorPancho In case of removal.

  • i would totally plough amy goodman

be like yeah bitch yeah heil hitler

  • What the fuck did BobbyJoeCletus say?

  • @faris0o0 It's only one page back you lazy ass.

  • @faris0o0 "shouldnt be sad for killing sand niggers" his words not mine i hate him for saying this

  • @faris0o0 He said "That soilder shouldn't be sorry for killing sand N~~~ers"
