@teleportboy In Empire you can have scholars, who speed up research, BUT can also challenge other scholars (and spies, iirc). What you see here, is a duel, where that one guy won, but the other stays alive.

hahahhaa laughed my ass of when the guy got angry at his pistol & threw it at the other's face, lol with throwing it he scored a headshot lol. Not so long ago i saw a documentary about these duels it said in one duel, one guy shot early & missed while the other guy's pistol jammed, the guy that missed got screwed & could do nothing except waiting for his opponent to slowly & cool unjam his pistol, took good aim & killed him.
