  • Awesome Tutorial! Great info. By chance is there a "Rectangle" Font? The image I am using is not square and it cuts off the left and right sides. I'm just trying to get this to rotate on its axis like this video.

  • @jim14j - Thanks for the comment.

There are some Rectangle shaped fonts, in the zipped folded mentioned in this tutorial’s Description box above.

How well this technique may work with a particular "rectangle" font, seems very dependent on how well the resolution ratio of the rectangle image you wish to use, matches the resolution ratio of the rectangle font you use.

I’ve sent you a PM. Please see your account’s Inbox.

  • @PDtoots

You're correct, I had to make the resolution a bit smaller but it worked!

    Thanks for your quick response!

  • Hello, I saw sue tutorial and loved it, I'm watching and practicing all, but I need the source used in this tutorial, would send me to download the source, I'm from Brazil and if you can send the compressed file would be nice.

congratulations for the tutorial is fantastic. I look back

    Goodbye.

  • @PENTLIFESTYLE - PM sent. Please check your inbox.

  • Can you supply the Square font that you described. I'm sure that I am doing this all wrong.

I downloaded several square fonts and none of them appear to work as shown.

I simply haven't been able to achieve the same desired results. Do I need to have a color background?

  • @mitchumky - PM sent. Please see your PM inbox.

  • I have no idea what you mean SQUARE font? I cannot find anything on-line like that and nothing seems to work. You need to be more clear or provide a link to this font! Wasted lots of time trying to do this.

  • @BalletBabyBoy - This tutorial is only intended to demonstrate how to create a specific effect using PowerDirector 10’s Title Designer.

It is not a tutorial on how fonts work in Windows. (Please see 00:25 to 00:37)

The PDtoots tutorials are offered as a free courtesy. If they are a waste of your time, you have the option to simply move on.

The exact font used in this tutorial, has always been available, and has been provided many times, to PDtoots Subscribers, who have requested it via PM.

  • @PDtoots I know what fonts are and how to find and install them. What do you mean by square font. Is it a wingding? I can't seem to figure out what you mean. Obviously others can't either.

  • Great tutorial I'm currently trying PD10. I've just tried your tutorial, very easy to follow. Is there any way to stop a spinning 3D logo from fading at the end? I want to have a spinning logo on screen for the full length of the video.

    Thanks

  • @snappuppy - Thanks for the comment.

I haven’t found away to customize (or eliminate) the fading, so I think that unfortunately, it’s not possible. But what I have done is open a new project/session of PD > Create a rotating cube at an extended duration > Produce to high quality > And then import the pre-produced rotating cube video into my main project, fading in and out at will.

  • Hey guys just updated to PD10 :-). Where did you get your 'square' font from?

    Thanks

  • @CubbyHouseFilms - I've sent a PM to your forum account.

  • Great hint! I only wonder why the maximum font size I can set on my system is 72 (irrespective of the font selected, as far as my observation goes)...

  • @jirkabolech - Thanks. If you want a size larger than 72, you need type the larger number into the Font Size box, and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

  • @PDtoots Indeed! How obvious! I didn't watch carefully enough. Thanks again. This opens up a whole new area of creative possibilities...

  • Wooow, please do more out of the box tutorials like this!

  • @sam4sb - We'll try!

  • I'll wager the designers never even THOUGHT of this!

  • @BarryPG - Thanks Barry. And that's why CL shouldn't forego Beta Testing, like they did this last time with PD10. They only benefit from beta testing by long time users (such as yourself), who think... outside the box.

Or in this case... outside the cube, hahaha.

  • As always - brilliant!

  • @CubbyHouseFilms - Thank You!

  • in 9 is same

  • @17Aln - No. Only possible in PD10.

  • Great vid tutorial...

  • @brobillntexas - Thank you! Very kind of you to comment.

  • Thanx!

  • @Xavely1978 - Thanx for watching!
