Ian is a god choice but I don't like the idea of having such a well known character such as Rachel as Melanie. This novel is new and should consist w/ someone more fresh + I think most people imagined her looking waY different than Rachel. Also having Thomas as Jared is a poor choice because he doesn't look like he could ever relate to being Jared and he seems to (no offense) not be very outgoing [yes I know this is real life. I dont think that these actors would be perfect for the cast. rachel bilson doesn't fit in the role of Wanda/Melanie. non of your selection fits in the cast :S except ian somerhalder, but he would play the role of ian very well

Jared is tough, so it's perfect. Kyle is a bit too pretty for the Kyle I had imagined. Melanie is "meh", I'm sure there are many other brunette actresses that could also do the role nicely. Ian is good... :)

it's kinda funny that a guy named Jared plays Ian, and a guy named Ian plays kyle.

I think it's a good cast though. Melanie actually is not how I pictured her, but the rest are pretty close. And the Melanie choice still works, so that's good. I'm actually really excited about this movie.
