I think that Rip Hamilton is one of the most underrated shooting guards, He has a pure shooting form, and for me is the best player moving without the ball ever.

just look at the lakers roster, they were loaded. I mean when your starting 5 goes: gary payton-kobe bryant-rick fox-karl malone-shaquille o'neal, how can you not win a championship ???
well fortunately the pistons made the unbelievable happen and realised their dream ;)
@Guitarherotimmydude SIKE!!!!! those teams on their running years where more offensively gifted... Detroit put Defence first which caused alot of fastbreak points...
The Pistons got revenge on Malone for hitting Thomas by being the team to deny him his last chance at a championship, and over a decade later. It gave me goosebumps...
MY LAKERS ARE 16 TIME CHAMPS AND ARE GOING FOR THE 3 PEAT. WHAT ARE THE PISTONS DOING AT THE MOMENT, 20-34?????? WOW BE HAPPY WITH 04 BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER WIN ANOTHER TITLE LMAO. LAKERS 4 LIFE.

Also when the Pistons get 16 titles(which they never will lmao) then you can talk, but until then stay in a piston fans place.
@mistanderson Lol well it took you 22 years to get #17 and you choked last year when you had 2 chances to win 18. Also the Lakers have more win, playoff wins, more playoff appearances and finals appearances. We don't have 3 hall of famers on our team and your fans were no where to be found before the 08 season came and the never of some of the new shcool celtic fans say celtic pride???? Get the hell out of here. We are wayyyyyyy more consistant than Boston. Simple as that.
@mistanderson Lol typical Celtic answer. Face everything I said is a fact and no matter what you say, it won't mean anything. It's ok and understand that yall have the most titles, bu the nba world knows that the Lakers are the best nba franchise EVER.
Joe Dumars need to do whatever he can to get this starting five to reunite. Right now the Pistons are falling apart. And that ridiculous trade for Iverson(no disrespect to Iverson but that trade fucked up the team chemistry) is what caused them to fall off.
@batangascoffee23 It's all about Jordan, and pippen then. Rodman was a beast defending and rebounding, longley was a good center, and harper was a consistent point guard. But the important point was Jordan. 2004 Detroit pistons were equally important, without any superstar... maybe billups was the leader, but he wasn't a superstar like jordan. Everyone was equally important. I'm not saying that pistons were better than bulls, I don't know how to explain it exactly, because I'm from spain. lol
Any real piston fan knows that it wasn't "shocking" that we beat this hall of fame team. Regardless of the talent they had we were the team to beat and they showed why.
this was when pistons was awesome. they had the best starting 5 in the league. until chauncey left it just went down man. i wish we could get them back
pistons used to be so dominant a couple years ago, but they have changed so much every season since chauncey left...they are not even fun to watch anymore:/
that year was so sick. i remember i was watching this whole series. the pistons that year was so sick. they pretty much ended the lakers dynasty. too bad their reign only lasted a year.
those were the days. bens fro, chauncys beast like skillz, prince was actually good, sheed was one of the best bigmen in the league, and rip had a outcold jumper.
In 2004 pistons were unstopable if we have chancy billups ben wallace rip tayshoun and rasheed Wallace Pistons are the bomb but today is the draft lets see what happens
not the best players but the best 5 players for a championship !!! billups is the most dominating point guard in history. look at how the nuggets goes right now
@nieto1992 ur right but it was vs. kobe byrant 1 of the best ever and shaq 1 of the best centers ever... together they were 1 of the best teams ever but the pistons still won thts wat makes them dominant
@wherearetheturtles no way if it was malon of 98 the lakes would have smashed anyone. You know that would have been three HOF players in their prime on one team.
@janitormopmop yeah but it ain't malone it was kobe hogging the ball. i got phil jackson's book man. and kobe promised before game 4 that he'd work with the triangle but he broke that promise and hogged the ball all the way.
Also he kinda gave up when he decided to retire after spending some time training with the Spurs. Turns out he should have hung around for a bit but it happens.
really sucks they lost Okur/Corliss/Mike James and Hunter in one swoop in the offseason. They took the Spurs to seven the next year and with half those guys they'd have one another one.
quit bitching Pistons won and your team did not every fan has the right to relive their teams championship moment I bet if this was your team you wouldnt complain

the sickest starting lineup everrrr....if b.wallace was still that good, put them together again and theyd be beating the lakers in the finals this year again
Yes, and I saw it was in parenthesis and part of an entirely different sentence. So you were basically saying "Only team to beat Kobe and Shaq together. Plus they had Payton and Malone, too"
epic! as a piston fan this seems like just yesterday. i remember watching this series against the lakers and masterbating the whole time, not ashamed to admit it either.
and just remember that grant hill was a superstar and we traded him for ben who nobody every knew him. same with rip we traded stackhouse for him and jerry was a superstar also. joe d is smart. watch this offseason and next year. pistons 2010 champs
well they preferred changing the face of the pistons by trading chauncey and his stagnant old on the pistons. With Rasheed's contract expiring as well, they'd have a lot of free cap space for a high level FA.
for one, he traded chauncey because of chaunceys 5 year contract and iverson's expired in 1 year so the pistons have the cap room to possibly get someone in the free agency next year so shut up u idoit.
i really hope what you said comes true. BUT joe d missed on carmelo and chris bosh picking a weak darko and he traded ben wallace 4 time defensive player of the year and fired larry brown one of the best coaches ever AND trades chauncy billups for an old and ball hug in allen iverson. joe d destroyed the pistons after a championship.
pistons1ply, Larry Brown left the pistons. He didn't trade ben wallace, they lost him in free agency. The bulls paid way too much for him. Get your facts strait before you dis the best GM in basketball.
If you watched the interview with Larry Brown u would know why he left. it was either leave or get fired. and i know they lost Ben Wallace to free agency, but they could have sacraficed for him and it would have been better. he was a beast during the time. and dont even defend the GM he's dumb. i know he won the championship but he lost 2 or 3 other ones because of his bad picks and decisions.
The GM... do you even no his name? It's Joe Dumars in case you didnt know. Ben Wallace wanted 60 million dollars and the Pistons correctly denied this and offered 48 Million. This was more than enough for a guy whose stats were declining every year for 4 straight years.
The Draft picks had little to do with what happened from 2004 till now assuming that is what you are talking about.
Since when does a GM win or lose A championship? Putting a team together to win is his job and he did that.
First of all yes i know Joe Dumars idiot. Not only than, I have also met him (unlike you). The money had nothing to do with ben wallace leaving. It was the coach, flip, that ben wallace hated and i dont blame Big Ben for hating him he is a loser. he has no defense wt so ever. the guy is all offense unlike larry brown (who btw gave us a championship and took us to the finals the following year) wt did flip do? ill tell u, awesome record but not even one finals appearance.
Haha... first of all I have been a season ticket holder since 2004 so I met Dumars and the whole team on many occasions.
Secondly, you have no idea what you are talking about.
The team quit on Flip after during Ben's last season and long after that. That had nothing to do with Flip's coaching ability. Fact is as soon as somebody punched this team in mouth they curled up and died and that lies on the players not the coach.
Yeah but Flip is still a great coach gave us good runs....ill take him anyday over curry....Cuz Flip knows how to OFFENSE AND A.I on his team would be champion...

And was Sheed kicked out of Portland due to the Techs?
adultgohan01 2 years ago
for rip we traded stackhous
for sheed we traded sura, rebrejica, and atkins
and for ben we traded grant hill
and just remember that grant hill was a superstar and we traded him for ben who nobody every knew him. same with rip we traded stackhouse for him and jerry was a superstar also. joe d is smart. watch this offseason and next year. pistons 2010 champs

hes a dumbass he traded chauncey for AI
cooliovasquez 2 years ago
well they preferred changing the face of the pistons by trading chauncey and his stagnant old on the pistons. With Rasheed's contract expiring as well, they'd have a lot of free cap space for a high level FA.
rawallace36 2 years ago
for one, he traded chauncey because of chaunceys 5 year contract and iverson's expired in 1 year so the pistons have the cap room to possibly get someone in the free agency next year so shut up u idoit.
Munising1 2 years ago
that makes no sense
cooliovasquez 2 years ago
All the big stars like Lebron, Garnett ect are up in free agency next year.

@Munising1
I thought the Pistons were confident in R. Stuckey so they got rid of Billups and wanted some cap room so they didn't resign Iverson.
Rockerzx360 2 years ago
ik but they are dissing joe.
Munising1 2 years ago
Chauncey didn't havva 5 year contract, he hadda 4 year as of 2007.
GrammyDude22 1 year ago
i really hope what you said comes true. BUT joe d missed on carmelo and chris bosh picking a weak darko and he traded ben wallace 4 time defensive player of the year and fired larry brown one of the best coaches ever AND trades chauncy billups for an old and ball hug in allen iverson. joe d destroyed the pistons after a championship.
pistons1ply 2 years ago
pistons1ply, Larry Brown left the pistons. He didn't trade ben wallace, they lost him in free agency. The bulls paid way too much for him. Get your facts strait before you dis the best GM in basketball.
GoPistons04 2 years ago
If you watched the interview with Larry Brown u would know why he left. it was either leave or get fired. and i know they lost Ben Wallace to free agency, but they could have sacraficed for him and it would have been better. he was a beast during the time. and dont even defend the GM he's dumb. i know he won the championship but he lost 2 or 3 other ones because of his bad picks and decisions.
pistons1ply 2 years ago
The GM... do you even no his name? It's Joe Dumars in case you didnt know. Ben Wallace wanted 60 million dollars and the Pistons correctly denied this and offered 48 Million. This was more than enough for a guy whose stats were declining every year for 4 straight years.
The Draft picks had little to do with what happened from 2004 till now assuming that is what you are talking about.
Since when does a GM win or lose A championship? Putting a team together to win is his job and he did that.
jerryz9983 2 years ago
First of all yes i know Joe Dumars idiot. Not only than, I have also met him (unlike you). The money had nothing to do with ben wallace leaving. It was the coach, flip, that ben wallace hated and i dont blame Big Ben for hating him he is a loser. he has no defense wt so ever. the guy is all offense unlike larry brown (who btw gave us a championship and took us to the finals the following year) wt did flip do? ill tell u, awesome record but not even one finals appearance.
pistons1ply 2 years ago
Haha... first of all I have been a season ticket holder since 2004 so I met Dumars and the whole team on many occasions.
Secondly, you have no idea what you are talking about.
The team quit on Flip after during Ben's last season and long after that. That had nothing to do with Flip's coaching ability. Fact is as soon as somebody punched this team in mouth they curled up and died and that lies on the players not the coach.
jerryz9983 2 years ago
As far as blamming Dumars for all the failed runs to the Championship after 2004 lets look and see what happened...
2005 - Sheed leaves Horry open and they blow a 9 point lead in the 4th quarter of game 7
2006 - Completely give up after a huge game 5 win against Miami and totally shit themselves in game 6
2007 - Give up Against a bad Cleveland team after going up 2-0 because they lost in triple overtime in game 5
2008 - Give up a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter of game six against Boston.
jerryz9983 2 years ago
ok 2005 we went to the finals and lost in game 7. game 5 was sheeds fault as the whole world knows by now.
2006 and after he brought us a coach like flip who probably doesnt even know the defenition of DEFENSE!! Offense doesnt win u a championship.
pistons1ply 2 years ago
Yeah but Flip is still a great coach gave us good runs....ill take him anyday over curry....Cuz Flip knows how to OFFENSE AND A.I on his team would be champion...

wow dude why not just repeat what I said above to prove your point! lol

This is when Detroit was in their prime the best damn defense ive seen in years. They shoulda kept Billups there that was a mistake.
