@buffymovies- actually, it is possible to walk in and get a lead role on broadway, even if you've never done a show of that nature before. Prime example? The original Roger, from RENT. He had never done a large acting role( actually, I don't believe he did ANY live theatre performances before he auditioned.) walked right in, and was told one thing: if you come back in next week, and are able to sing with your eyes open, then you got the part... So, it is in fact possible to walk in off the stre

this is definitely my least favorite wicked performance. and ironically with my favorite elphaba. You can tell they used the pre-recorded chorus track, so i'm guessing the leads didn't want to over power the soft backing vocals. they were holding back alot.

The reason he didn't get the lead was not because he wasn't good enough. I think its probably hard to get ahead if your not friends, or family. Thats what I think. You may not like it, and may get all pissy about it, but that isn't going to change my mind. I'm not going to stop praising Adam. He has had a hard time because he is honest. His fans need to back him up as much as possible. I want him to have a long, and happy career.

@wickedglitter1 lol people get lead roles in theater without being "friends or family" all the time. but you don't just get to walk in off the street and get a lead role. like any other job you have to work your way up to it. the other people most likely had more impressive resumes at the time

Um, it' was Adam's job at the time, and he was also an u/s for Fiyero, a lead role. While he's doing unbelievably well now, he still had fun with Wicked.

@wickedglitter1 ok he's not like a god, so stop like praising him, and the reason why he didn't get the lead role and only a chorus was because his voice wasn't the perfect fit for the role, or he couldn't act. yeah he has a damn good voice, but really the fiyeros that they had were just as good or even better than adam, and they're not kicking themselves they broke broadway history for the highest grossing show ever, so I doubt they care. I still luv adam though!

I saw wicked on broadway last summer as our school's musical theatre and dance group. The cast was so funny (-: We even got to learn the dance to this song with one of the characters. Best experience ever!

adam was in the touring company and it was the TOURING company on Leno that night. See playbill July 18, 05. He was in the Ensemble and u/s Fiyero. Fiyero is not in this scene it's Ensemble..
