Thanks for the comments. This was built for a design class project with a time limit, so it's more of a proof of concept than a final design. I'm sure a bit of reconfiguring would allow a higher toss and the user to not have to step to press the lever. If I were building this for actual training, I would probably add weight and use better materials for the frame. This one was only used for demonstration purposes and was dismantled after the class ended.
Is there anyway to bring the pedal out far enough that you wouldn't have to step back. Also have you tried more weight or training balls for a better toss?
