Gaara reminds me a lot of the Phantom from the Phantom of the Opera. He's unloved... I know a lot of the fangirls say that they would totally stick up for him, but I've always been the kind of person to befriend the weird kids. It's kind of bittersweet, Gaara overcomes his horrible past and rises to become Kazekage, then he finds out everything he suffered was a lie, his Father didn't hate him, Yashamaru loved him, and his Mother truly did love him, and now they're both gone.

But difference is Gaara first was evil and then he turned good, while Sasuke regressed so much.
