I actually beat this game when I was a kid, and it was a pírated Cart from Japan used with a special adapter on an American NES, Took a while, but I actually ended up beating it, and without even be able to read a single instruction ingame cause it all was in japanese, also I would not have been able to figure it out by just reading cause the other version was in English and I did not know any English back then, I learned years ago. Of course no one is going to believe me just that easy.

Same thing happened to other challenging games like E.T. (Atari 2600) and StarTropics. Movie rental stores, pawn shops and other used-game stores often don't include a manual. I remember hearing the Irate Gamer saying "So why am I even fighting here? Is there a specific reason for this? I guess there could be an explanation in the instruction manual. you would be right. This is a "TAS" tool assisted speedrun. The video should of been label as such to advoid confusion with true speedruns. Basically, in "tas" you can slow it down to frame by frame play or redo as many parts as you want if you mess up and then put it all together and make it look normal. it is not really playing the game at all.

omg... i never figured out how to get thru the 2nd room. i came back to play this game over and over and always got upset i could never find the way around it, and i remember i read into a magazine you had to throw a bubble at some monster than jump over it... but the monster die as u shoot boobles at it... in the end it turned out to be ridiculous secret passages EVERYWHERE...

I rented this about 15 years ago and played it for 3 straight days without turning off my NES before finally beating it.

I wouldn't have guessed the game could be beaten in under 30 minutes - even with an emulator. Great work.

It's underrated. Part of the game's difficulty comes from its pile of obscure secrets that need to be uncovered in order for you to beat it. The unlimited continue mechanism is non-obvious, and you tend to die frequently. That said, I had great fun with the game back in the day, and I still consider it decent. The controls and hit detection are solid, and the rooms are fun to poke around in. The trippy charm of the castle - especially the catchy music - kept me coming back for more.

also, he never picked up an embrella, increasing the flow of your bubbles, and without your bubble flow is very slow. he machine guns his faster than posible even with the umbrella. tas isn't "the fastest possible time.  it's faster than the possible time.
