Dog play is brawling. They are practicing FIGHTING. Play=fight.

How hard is that to see?

The only difference between PLAY and FIGHT is the intensity of experience.

ALL The MOVES are the same.

This is teaching dogs to fight to let them spar with each other. Like BAR BRAWLERS they get to practice and become better fitghters

This type of playing is perfectly normal with dogs that know each other and are friends. All dogs play like this, from toys to workers. The owner is in the background makin sure when one dog looks like its had enough the other calms down, as long as both tails are waggin and everyone keeps runnin back to play some more its ok. Dogs that are on they're own require alot of people play, it gets soooo tiring, best to let the pooches wrestle then everyone can take a nap.

dont forget theres alot of pitbul or staffie cross breeds tht look like pitbulls tht have had the bad press, when purchasing a dog make sure you meet the parents and maybe have a kennel club certificate, also pitbulls are lovely dogs, michael j fox had one, ive got a mix which is lovely, but i relized tht one dog which was a bulldog in uk, was put down as of aggression and in the paper it states pitbul attacks???

@milktray9999 Like different countries have different dogs down as dangerous.. in america you cant own a dog that has more then a quarter wolf in it and most places cant own a pit (which is classified as ANY staffordshire blood-bearing dog). In the UK Staffordshire bull terriers are very popular but still have the bad rep cause of shitty owners. However in the UK they ban Japanese Akita's, AMERICAN staffordshire bull terriers and theres one other im forgetting... i think its a rotwiller?

I don't see what is funny about dogs sparring or brawling.

What I see is an older dog teaching a younger dog to fight. Did you see the death shake?

Do you see the older dog pinning down the younger one and going for the throat?

What this shows is a fighting breed practicing and learning fighting skills.

This "play" is play fighting....

What is appropriate play is sharing a tug toy or playing together with a toy...

Dogs learn to fight by "playing" and practicing their skills like this.

and tug-o-war is a game where dogs are trying to be dominant, which MIGHT increase agression, so i wouldnt recommend it.

A dog can be harmless even if it plays rough as long as it knows its place, below you, in the 'pack haierarchu'.

Dogs that show aggression are either trained to do it, or their owners are too weak to be the dominant party. People like this should not own dogs. Get some fsh.

it depends on the breed of pit. i have a red nose apbt mix who's 5 years old and he's only 59lbs. it also depends on how stocky/muscular they are. the more muscles the more they'll weigh. from what i understand blue nose and apbt weigh more than red nose mainly becuase they're stockier/muscular than the red nose breed.

@goofychris27 I never said Pit Bulls were bad dogs otherwise I wouldn't own one. I'm in the process of adopting 2 Pit Bull puppies right now. I work with dogs and have been bitten by ever yother breed except for a Pit Bull. My boy has gained weight since my comment and is now 69lbs and he lives with a 18lb Morkipoo(Maltese, Yorkie, Poodle mix) and they get along with no prob. I know for a fact that Pits are the best breed of dog.

@milktray9999 actually i heard about that.. it wasnt so in this case, but in alot of cases involving rotty attacks the dog has hip displasia (very very very common in rottys) so they're thighs hurt incredibly bad, ya go to give em a firm pat and they rip your hand to crap.. natural dog reaction to sudden pain. Again i dont think the dog in question had displasia(sp?) though.
