  • Very cool work with the spindly crabs. At first I thought your character lost an eye, but it was the camera angle. lol. Great work

  • Nice work! I liked it!

  • Fantastic :) I loved the motion of the crabs'. Great scenery. The flower was great, too!

  • Wow, awesome work John! I loved the set, lighting, and mood of the film! And the characters were super great as well - must have taken a long time to make - excellent job man!

  • @Carrotkid thank you...it means a lot...yes, it took forever...almost exactly one year of work from day one design to release to public

  • Wonderfull ^_^

  • really great job, great animation keep up the great work.

  • Utterly charming, you've done really well there, CG! And Brett for his music too!

  • This is fantastic stuff! I am awed by your patience and craftsmanship!!

  • Stunning film John. The puppets are amazing and everything moves so beautifully. Love it :D

  • A beautiful little film all around congratulations on a job well done.

  • That was really detailed and I loved the opening bud at 2:50 :D

  • This is better than Avatar!

  • Really nice work John! I haven't visited the stopmotionanimation site in a long time, but I remember when you started on this film and now it's finally finished! Congrats man!! You have made huge progress in your animation! :)

  • Excellent work Castlegardener!

  • Really nice film, Castlegardener!

I loved the character designs and the set. I thought the blooming anemone was beautifully done. The music was a very nice fit too.

  • Love all the creatures - but maybe my favourite is the thin white shrimpy thing... apart from the star, the seahorse with arms that is... But I like how there is such a variety, each with their own way of moving.

I don't know what it is, but I have this sudden compulsion to sweep my studio floor...

    Another Castlegardener Classic!

And - great work on the music Brett!

  • Hooray! I'm nutz about this film! There's so much great stop mo charm in it. (I'm so stealing your wonderful underwater camera angles) I love all the details and the sophisticated musical choices.

You have such a great way with these creatures, John. Is that due to your extensive underwater photography/diving experiences do you think?!

  • @NobleDesignMedia the creatures and how they walk I see all the time underwater and in my fish tank so I am sure that helped with the realism of their actions.

  • YEAH! IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! IT TURNED OUT FANTASTIC! (I've been watching it non-stop... on my fifth time now)

Now, begin work on your next stop motion immediately so that I don't have to wait as long for you to finish it ;)

  • @terrymation by the way, the hermit crab is my favourite, he is just too great!

  • @terrymation next one is storyboarded and some props built already...A blacksmithing goblin

  • @castlegardener A Blacksmithing goblin? Excellent! Sounds like classic Castlegardener to me!

  • love it. the music is perfect too

  • Wooo Hoo man!! you are awesome......so impressive how you keep making these great films. I love the little hermit crab dood

    jriggity

  • That was really fun john. I loved the Chinese garden gag at the end. Well I'll tell you what. I came out real good didn't it. Nice set. I really enjoyed this one sir. Congrats on getting it finished. you not only talk the talk, you walk the walk. :D Keep up the good work. This would be great kids TV stuff.

As for animating, you have challenged yourself like never before, under water.. i imagine there was a lot of rigs arounds....so inspiring, please never stop the art of stop/motion. and thanks for the inspiration once again!! shall not be wasted.
