FYI, this song was written by Mingo Lewis who is also playing percussion on this track (as well as writing/playing on "The Wizard") and is missing from the Credits. This was also first recorded by the Tubes when Mingo Lewis was their Percussionist.
any chance someone could post the album versions of electric rendezous (the track, not album) and or black cat shuffle. some one put up a live version of rendezvous but it just not as good as album version, and the somalia thats on youtube is really crappy quality too

@petete21521 Between 1555 and 1931 the Jesuit Order was expelled from at least 83 countries, city states and cities, for engaging in political intrigue and subversion plots against the welfare of the state, according to the records of a Jesuit priest of repute(Thomas J. Campbell).-J.E.C. Shepard
@petete21521 "The public is practically unaware of the over wheming responsibility carried by the Vatican and its Jesuits in the starting of the two world wars-m a situation which may be explained in part by the gigantic finances at the disposition of vatican and its jesuits."---Edmond paris, The secret history of the Jesuits
First off , the song was written by Mingo Lewis during his stint with The Tubes, inititilaly appearing on the Now album and later on the What Do You Want From Live release. It's a nice cover here done by the ADM band, signature Latin beats predominant, exeptional pitch bend control by Jan Hammer and a non-understandable bum note by the master himself at 3:04. Accentuating a flat fifth on a vamp circumventing a perfect fifth rif is just not done, however 'out' you want to go with the 'Jazz Thang'
@boomhooler Shut up man, Al Di Meola loves to walk out of his chords/scales all the time! It's THE Al Di Meola moment in this song, I love the tension!
But I can't explain one thing to myself: How come I thought for decades, that the man on the drums was Simon Phillips? After checking SP's carreer I found he had never played with Al Di Meola! That's quite odd.
@teeshowchesmoob According to another video it says it was written by the Tubes drummer in 1977 and then Al Dimeola did it?????? but i know little about either :)
this is what really all started it off for me. Yeah, Van Halen was first, but once I heard this album, I knew guitar probably wasn't going to get much better...and it hasn't. Basically, been trying to play like him ever since.

@Raphos4ever
what similarity do you see/hear between Al DiMeola and Dimebag Darrell?? C'mon man.. Probably not THat into music....

@Raphos4ever
uh no...I love both but sorry lol
This has a panther on the cover and Pantera is spanish for Panther....
That isn't exactly enough to compare a jazz fusion guitarist to a groove metal guitarist.
They are both awesome but not alike in anyway and Pantera started out playing glam metal....so that's as far from this is as you can get lol

the intro has a True Lies Super Nintendo feel to it. specifically the level where you are attempting to exit the chateau.
