I disagree. First, it was not replaced, it was moved to the tail. Second, making the formal title of the nation the most prominent writing makes the most sense. Luftwaffe is still written prominently on all other transport A310 variants. This is the state transport of the chancellor of the BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTCHLAND, after all!
It was rediculos that the word "Luftwaffe" was replaced by the word "Bundesrepublik" on the VIP transport aircraft a couple of years ago.
