@kwmkc13 Well Norway are changing to JSF (F-35 Lightning II) in 2018 if it isn't postponed,

I spoke to a couple of pilots in 2008, and they were happy it was the JSF, and not Gripen or Typhoons which was the opponent fighters.

I'm 15 ;) But just try to fly as much at you can. The more experience you have, the more chance you have of getting the job.

You could also join your local gliderclub, you can fly gliders solo from the age of 14 ;)

Or just fly in flightsims (like falcon 4.0 AF ;) ) If you want some more info. Just mail me ;)

How good does your vision exactly have to be ? Is it ok to have very light glasses (if you know what I mean) or wear ophthalmic things (don't know how to call them) or is it ok if you just get laser eye surgery ? Please respond because I would love to be an F-16 pilot but I am afraid my vision will be getting worse and worse and I am afraid I have to wear glasses and therefore loose my lifelong dream of becoming an F-16 pilot :(

You need 20/20 vision. That means no glasses nor contact lenses I'm afraid. Some airforces like USAF accepts a laser surgery methos called IntraLasik. Other methods like PRK/Lasek or Lasik is not allowed because they are afraid the scars from the surgery might rip open during high amount of G. In Norway this is not allowed, but i imagine it will be in a couple of years.

Its a record from the pilots HUD.

Its set in EEGS mode, or "gun-mode" if you'd like. The funnel-like lines, shows the path of where the bullets would go if you fired at any time. On the top of the funnel, is a target appr. 600 feet away, and at the bottom its at 3000ft..

In this case the target is locked, by radar, so the white little dot follows the target, and the wide "half-circle" displays the distance to the target.

The pencil-shaped square to the left indicates airspeed, in knots, and to the right indicates altitude in feet. The line you can see crossing in the right top corner is the horizon-line, which indicates where the horizon is. when its striped like in this case, it means that the horizon is "in this position, but further out from the hud". When its not striped, the horizon is visible in the HUD.

In this case, the ground is outside the camera up to the right, so the F-16 is upside down.

f-16 is know for its simplicity and low cost, that is why so many air forces use it. The U.S uses them for most of the missions in Iraq because its cheaper than using an f-15 or f-22

I is a multirole ac, both for operating AA, and AG operations.

Its was made with the intend as a dogfighter though (light weight, good maneuverability, low cornerspeed etc), but proved itself on AG level too.

These are only the ac stats, and people tend to use them for more than they are worth. People tend to compare f.ex the F-16 against the F-15, saying the F-16 is a better dogfighter, and the F-15 is a better bomber.

Thats meaningless, because the pilot training is a very important factor. F-16 pilots have a wider are to operate, and the training goes thereafter both AA and AG. F-15A to D, are intended for AG only, and the pilot training is also there after. So logically F-15 pilots are more experienced on this area, but it hasnt got anything to do with the ac stats..

The Aegean seaarea is located between Turkey and Greece. The Aegean vipers belongs to HAF, and are used in this area, so thats why they're called Aeagean.

They have Mirage 2000's but i think only 1/3 of the amount of F-16's.

But F-16 and Mirage 2000s are the only fighters in their inventory. I may be wrong. What I do know is they have alot, alot of other different aircrafts from alot of different nations.
