  • What kind of mic is that Ken?

  • @ElephantHillMusic It is a Zoom H2.

  • @KenMiddletonUkulele Great job, lovely rendition.

  • @ElephantHillMusic Thank you.

  • Stunning

  • @wknightm Thanks.

  • @KenMiddletonUkulele I really mean it, I heard you play this a year or so ago and it's a hauntingly beautiful song Ken. I am a writer, and you inspire me to work harder at what I do (this song in my mind as I write).

Many thanks to you too from the bottom of my heart.

  • I write screenplays I mean, not music, and I have this specific story in mind that this song just sums up beautifully, I should have been more specific ... that's how I write, im inspired by music and it just stays in my mind as I write... not important... anyway, good tidings to you my friend :-)

  • @wknightm Thanks again.

  • Amazing, both Bob's words and your performance.

  • @DesecrationSmile52 Thanks for listening.

  • Yes, thank you.

  • Beautiful job! I grew up with the same music, but in a different country. I could understand the music. The performer and his/her message was not over-powered by overwhelming special effects. Dylan did go electric, but in such a positive way.

  • Thanks very much.

  • That was fantastic.

  • Thank you Adam.

  • Beautiful Ken! 9 minutes is never too long when it's one of your songs. They're always so enjoyable.

  • Thank you, Michelle.

  • Lovely, lovely, lovely.

  • Thanks Jake.

  • Ken, really outstanding! It is a very moving and powerful performance!

  • Thanks again, Michael.

  • Thats a tough one to pull off but that was a great performance 5 *!

  • Thank you.

  • Ken, try adding yt:quality=high in your tags section. Your viewers should see your videos in high quality.

    Great performance!

  • Are you sure it is the setting on your channel, John? Under ACCOUNT - PLAYBACK SETUP.

  • I have done it. Can you let me know if it works.

  • Yes, it's working now!

The "account-playback setup" thing is so all videos YOU watch will be in the highest quality possible.

  • Thanks. I will be sure to do that in the future.

  • Ah Ken,

man, i love this song....again, it's a bit more 'beefed' up, but if you get a chance to check out 'Buddy Miller's" version (Universal United House of Prayer album) of the song.....i'm almost positive you'll like it.....it nearly brings me to tears every time I listen to it.....he sings it with such guts and anguish.....

  • I'll check it out. Thanks Todd.

  • Dylan and Cohen seem to be your forte Ken. Well done! 5***** from me.

  • It is mainly because I don't listen to many songs, Derek. So I don't know that many.

  • I was going to sing thios one but the length put me off which is why I ended up doing My Name Is Jack (manfred Mann did With God On Our Side as well)

You do this type of song so well, Ken

  • I don't remember the MM version. I wanted to get it closer to 10 mins, but I miscalculated.

  • You can be forgiven for missing it. It was on a 1965 EPcalled The One In The Middle - The tracks were:

The One In The Middle, Watermelon Man, What Am I To Do? and With God On Our Side. A bit on the obscure side, I know but, as the Beatles would say: "Hey Jude, don't be obscure..."

  • A powerful song, and you delivered it powerfully. Thanks.

  • Thank you, Yoppy.

  • My pleasure. Thanks.

  • Wonderful Ken! I also grew up on the Neville Brothers version. Such a good song.

  • Thank you, Zoe.

  • Another poignant, evocative and beautiful gem

  • Thanks very much.

  • I really enjoyed that. You gauged it all beautifully. Thank you very much.

  • Thanks for that comment.

  • Loved that Ken - again you brought a great song and a wonderful interpretation.

    Congrats

  • Thanks very much.

  • superb Ken, i have this by the neville brothers,

    great version

  • Thanks K.

  • Wonderful performance Ken.

I was lucky to grow up in the more innocent 60's

  • I know it wasn't all good, but I have positive memories of that era.

  • Excellent very expressive, well played and very well recorded! The black and white adds to it and the setting is perfect!

  • Thanks very much.

  • This is the kind of song artists have to try to sneak onto an album, since they aren't "radio friendly", but often have a much greater impact on the listener. Absolutley wonderful.

  • Thanks very much for that comment FBG.

  • You did beautifully Ken. Great song by a Great artist.

And even though it's 46 years old, it's just as powerful as it was...timeless.

On one hand, I wish I was born at that time. On the other hand, I'm happy I was born when I did, because now I can look back and see all this great things and reflect about them, like this song.

    Great video Ken =)

  • Thanks for that comment, Carlos.

  • just headin to bed and then youtube decides to let this show up. i'm glad i stayed up. absolutely sterling. you always bring songs back to life for me. wonderful

  • Thanks for that great comment, Shane.

  • totally worth listening to in it's entirety. beautiful performance Ken and great song choice. 5*****

  • I was going to do a little more instrumental stuff at the end, but I wasn't sure whether I had gone of the 10 minute mark, so I stopped. Thanks Russ.

  • A beautiful delicate song, played with such great technique, I think for me this is one of your best, and there have been many, but this one just hit the spot really.

  • Wow! I thought it was a bit naughty recording it again, but I'm glad I did.

  • I love this song. Well done Ken. This song is still powerful and relevant today.

  • Thanks very much.

  • Great cover Ken, honestly gave me goosebumps! 5***** favorited!

  • Wow! Thanks so much.

  • Dylan could write a 9 minute song worth listening to, and Ken can play & sing it well enough to make the 9 minutes seem too short.

    Gave me goosebumps.

  • Thanks Adelle. That's really cheered me up.

  • Thanks.

  • remember your last post...

must have been sticking in my head.

    No wonder, its great Ken!

  • Thank you, Christoph.

  • wow, It is reallly goood! :)

  • Thanks Lisa.

  • It really is a powerful - and at the same time beautiful - song. And you do it brilliantly of course. And although it's 6 years younger than me, it seems a lot fresher...

  • Haha. '69 was the year I started college.

  • really nice job Ken .

  • Thanks Stephen.

  • Beautiful singing and playing Ken.

  • Thanks very much, Deach.

  • The depth and nuance in that lyric is astonishing.

You my friend, absolutely did the best cover of this Ive ever heard. Just perfect.

  • I really appreciate that, Coyote. It's a favourite of mine.

  • Very nice, thank you.

  • Thanks.

  • Wonderful Ken!

  • Thank you.

  • A very nice song. Your quieter tunes are my favourites.

  • Thanks. I like quiet songs too.

  • Amazing that Dylan thought he could write these incredible testaments of an era and then be surprised when people were upset when he decided to go electric.

What a great performance, Ken. Your uke sings in this. Five Fab stars!

  • This Kanile'a always seems to record well. Thanks Alan. I appreciate it.

  • I think people would have followed the acoustic Dylan for decades.

  • This is fantastic Ken, I'm a huge Dylan fan.

  • Thanks HH. I'm in a time-warp I think. I only like his old songs.

  • Thank Jeff. It's one of my favourite songs.

  • great take on this ken!
