You need better armor.. May I suggest the Cenatuar armor? It's the best you can get until the Tigrex armor. :)

@kishita9 Look at the armor's skills. Those are great for a gunner, and a good gunner isn't going to be hit many times.

@sasuke19kraven if im not mistaken bowguns have limited compatibility with elemental shots, it might be that your bowgun can not support water s, check the bowgun's detail beforehand.

Normally I am a S&S master but I used the Dark Scynth to kill it. Do not be fooled when the LS bounces off-it still does damage!

Still don't understand wy this is a 4-star quest, Killing the Basarios was so easy for me. (i have the game 2 weeks now and i'm at the 4-star quests) I really enjoy monster hunter and am definitely going to but Monster Hunter Portable 3 (MHP3)

Another way to kill him is to make him run in to the rocks you'll see in areas...4 & 2 i believe, once he runs in to to them they explode and he goes off guard and then you can light him up with what you got. Just a tip for anyone thats still stuck on this, because thats what killed him for me. Its a great feeling of accomplishment once you kill these harder bosses :) I just recently took down my first Rathalos, boy was he something. Happy Hunting!

in mhf i used iron katana gospel everytime i killed bas (which was almost everyday or hour ) but when i tried to fight him with gs or ls he was too hard so... i just used bowgun. i killed him with valkryie (or however u spell it) blade he was still a challenge but in any other case grreat vid 5* hope u make more mhfu vids soon! =D

@Glare999 .. nw you mention "valkyrie" derived from a goddess of Norse mythology... Just shared.. basarios is just a simple foe but beware just be careful specially when using gs or ls.. one request is armors with poison negate... but still there are many others that can defeat it inn just a few minutes

For Basarios, a gun would be a good idea. Since this dragon is almost ENTIRELY close range, and extremely slow, using a bowgun, a light bowgun perferably for me, is an amazing idea. I took it down no sweat. The Ioprey annoyed me more during combat.

I'm a longsword user, mostly. But since my sword didn't have high sharpness and I didn't know the dragon's attack abilites as of yet, I went with a bowgun. I never knew fighting a baby would be hard xD

That's why I use my Hidden Spear! It has white level sharpness and 50% affinity! All I need if a fencing suit and it will be perfect! Also, I use my white monoblos sythe. I keep forgetting it's name.

back in MH1 I used my spear for everything by the time MHFU came along I was good enough with all the weapons to use them for different occasions, I recently found the spear hard to use on bas but as it always seems to have been DS work wonders... monoblos scythe works well on it with the proper setup, YAY ESP

No, I'm sorry. It was my fault. I've miss-read it all along! It's Hidden SABER! Not hidden spear! But 'hidden' weapons are generally Nargacuga. And hidden spear sounds like what the lance may be.

That it did ^^ Thanks for talking to me. It's weird. To make Nargacuga weapons you have to a tigrex weapon and upgrade it. But, even though the Tigrex weapon is sharp, it has low affinity and usually bounces. The Nargacuga weapons are the opposite! Weird.

bounces I thought they were pretty much some of the sharpest weapons when you get them, eh I never used them though not even my reckless abandon could solve an issue I had with them, I am just a collector but maybe it is a whole harder monster better version thing (though I have more trouble with tigrex)

The reason they bounce is the Affinity level. Also, Nargacuga weapons are MUCH sharper. Much more worth it. Even though they'll empy your pockets easily.

@LeonLethality just check it's sharpness.. if you want a good hammer.. fiind a hammer with a solid green or a hammer with blue sharpness.. that's one of the dreams with hammers
