im not sure why chris would be happy about this cover... black hole sun is not suppose to be a happy song... its kind of a morbid, depressing, slow, dark, ominous, and dreary song.. this is happy. it distorts the meaning of the song. this cover doesnt seem to preserve any of the songs qualities. i understand that when you do a cover, you dont want to make it sound like the original song, but you should still keep the same mood in this case..

@seanthemusicdude I think the idea of the song using this tone was to portray a sense of irony. The band obviously chose this song for a reason. Not just a straight up cover, but really taking an iconic song and using its (morbid, depressing, slow, dark, ominous, and dreary) appeal to present that contrast.

@seanthemusicdude it's called "cover" because its "your cover", your own idea about this song. and about your "hey this cover sounds too happy" comment, you know at first listening it gave me the feeling of a "post nuclear warfare" atmosphere, just like fallout games or madmax movies you know what I mean? even though the melody seems happy, it includes tragedy and irony within. ( no man I'm not high right now.. %100 guaranteed :)
