wise move using 'song for bob', your trailer was excellent but using the most emotional piece of music made for the film was the icing on the cake....if i had a hundred thumbs....
@kevdura well that clearly untrue. Although "Long Riders" was a good movie at its time, and it is still a good watch. This film is far superior in almost every way. Historically it is far more accurate than "Long Riders" it is also MUCH better quality of cinematograhpy, production, and acting. The performances in this were astounding totally unparalelled when compared to the "Long Riders". So you're "Broke Back mountain" observation is perhaps a little far-fetched, to say it politely.
@deadpandadolls Its definitely great but there are many westerns that could be the greatest, like have you ever seen the Good the Bad and the Ugly or The Wild Bunch. Both are speggetti westerns an are classics and the Wild Bunch probably has the best ending in movie history.
I love this. I honestly believe it's one of the most underrated movies of the last decade. The type of film that once you've seen it: you go out and buy the book, you soak that novel and its contents in, like it were rain water and you was a torn, old shirt.
i often think to myself what this film would be like without the music, theirs no denying this beautiful picture and the musi makes it a masterpiece with deph and soul
I enjoyed this movie a lot i guess some people wouldnt if they havent heard the name Jessie James.... watched his documentary Reminds me of Billy the Kid
calebinoutlook: That's because the movie is centered on his assasination, covered only the last six months of his life, those things aren't important to the movie. Hansen should write a couple more books on his Civil War days and early life. He shot his own finger off cleaning a gun and that's how he got his nickname. The bullet hole in his chest he got while surrendering to the north toward the end of the war.
its so weird (and gross) that Jesse James married his first cousin Zee (short for Zerelda who was named after Jesse James mother) i wonder why they don't mention that in this movie. or how Jesse James got the 2 bullet holes in his chest. or how he lost the tip of his right middle finger.
if anyone wants ot know how u can message me. i would post it here but the storys for all of those are kinda long
this movie is AMAZING and very under rated. for some reason not as many people like it as it deserves. or even heard of it. probably cause alot of the people who did see it were looking forward to some big action movie with tons of gunplay. whatever reason its dumb. cause this movie is awesome and is one of my favorites ever.
why does jesse beat up that kid at that house can someone explain that whole sence please coz it was kinda hard to follow it was an amazing film though might watch it just now infact
"i go off on journeys outside my body an i look at my red hands an my mean face.. an i wonder bout that man thats gone so wrong.. ive become a problem for'myself" great fuckin line
The most beautiful movie ever made--from the script to the acting to the cinematography to this haunting, lovely music. There's ugliness in the story and in all the (male) characters, but the story could not be told better. How can anyone call this film "boring"?! Long, yes, but there is so much to look at, listen to, think about. And, man, how it stays with you long after you've stopped watching. Criminally underappreciated, but in the end it will get its due.
i loved the original trailer, but i think the new song heightens the action and tension. It makes you wonder what happens next, whereas the original makes the movie feel...well, over.
Man to be honest, I like this one better than the original, and that being that I watch the trailer about as much as I watch the film. I think that part where Brad Pitt stares at the long row of fire is one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a movie, and I like the way it meets this song better than What Must Be Done in the original. In fact, whenever I hear Song For Bob now when listening to the soundtrack I think of this version of the trailer.
As the editor of the original version of this trailer, I find it interesting to watch it with a different cue in the back end. The score for the film is among my favorite film soundtracks, and this cue in particular is heartwrenching. But dropping it in as you have loses the effect of certain shots or moments landing on certain parts of the original music. The mallet pounding the sign, for instance, happens at a very specific beat in the original. Still, your channel is awesome. I love it.
To me, the original song at that specific part is what made the trailer so powerful and awe-inspiring. It changed the mood set by the previous two and steered it into a haunting and gripping tale. I feel Song For Bob just doesn't fit the impact needed at the end.

The movie, "The Long Riders," was better. This is more like "Broke Back Mountain starring Jesse James."

This is my favorite movie, ever.
However I didn't know Jesse James story, Bob Ford's one neither.
I don't believe Ford is that coward the people think he is ; he was the puppet of the government and the target of Jesse James.
He was too young and wanted to live.
Bob just didn't make the right choice.
He would be that coward if he hadn't repented his act.
This movie would put across that.
Ps : I'm french, then sorry for the mistakes.

Good job on the trailer... "Song for Bob" is a masterpiece and the orginal trailer should have included this song on it.
btw watched this movie yesterday and again it blew my mind. It's perfect and every time you watch it makes you see things you haven't seen before.
