  • is that fonzie spotting him?

  • Waddington was the 1st 1000lb squatter

  • Paul Anderson 6,270 lb. Back Lift...case closed.

  • Paul Anderson. 1206 pound squat. Nuff said

  • @rifleman1002 but hes like 300+lbs. this guy is less than 300lbs.

  • I remember that competition. Fred took that 1003 for his SECOND attempt! He tried 1052 for his third and actually got back up with the weight but only got one white light for depth. This video is probably put together from bits of all three attempts that day. It was the Hawiian Invitational. Of all the 1000 pound squats on Youtube, this one is not ony the first but it's the deepest and the easiest. Note how well Fred controls the bar with 1003 pounds while he weighed only around 255 himself.

  • Still got my glute ham raise Freddy

  • I've heard that if you go below parallel, it destroys your knees. Is that true and why? If you are a successful power lifter can you please answer this question? Thanks a bunch.

  • @arreoman2 If it's not below parallel, it's not a squat. Keep your knee's behind your toes, and flared, and you will be good to go. Watch ed coan squat.....very easy to see a proper technique watching him. Best of luck to your lifting

  • in response to comments on the padding,

the squat sponge changes nothing. and with that kind of weight it compresses to like 5mm thick. if you think that someone is a pussy for using it you are clearly a meathead with insecurities of your small penis

  • Even if I could do this, I would be affraid to. He's got rediculous strength

  • @ManardGCrebs Paul anderson weight like 350. Hatfield was 255 in that lift, and pretty lean I might add.

  • @ManardGCrebs it was in 1987 or there abouts. He was 45 years old at the time. Roids were definitely around and his training methods are still some of the most advanced and scientific to this day.

  • Well I guess that's roughly quadruple my theoretical maximum squat

  • @TimpBizkit anybody can squat more than 250 if they work hard enough

  • @BXAssasinatorXS well I didn't mean my genetic limit lol, I mean my current one rep max. All I know is if I put my friend Nathan on my back who weighs about 225lbs, I can do 7 below parallel squats before my legs turn to jelly and I collapse. Not very scientific I know. I don't have a squat rack and any bar over 80lbs hurts my shoulders if it's not padded enough.

  • @TimpBizkit u just gotta work out your upped body specifically your traps and rear delts or just toughen up, u gotta get some of your own padding, you know what i mean? dont use a squat sponge, there for pussies and women, and they are very bad for form

  • @slimbw93 I read on T-Nation that I was putting the bar too far up and should rest it lower down

  • @TimpBizkit yea you probably were, you want it right on the meat of your traps and shoulders, there really isnt much bone, if any that it should touch, the problem with a squat sponge is that it allows you to keep the bar higher up on you neck, pushing you forward and not allowing you to keep your weight on your heals, best of luck dude keep training and developing that form!

  • @TimpBizkit

There are so many different types of squats that there is no wrong way! Even sissy squats have their place (lockout and quad mass). But the high bar squat which you are doing is refered to as an olympic squat and places more emphasis on the quads.

The low bar back squat is a powerlifting position. This is a much better position for strength and lifting more weight, but always know when you progress in the high bar squat you also progress in the low bar squat.

  • pff light weight!

  • That was more like 20 years ago. Anyway, NO BULLSHIT THERE. ROCK BOTTOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looked like he was 315 for christ sake!!!

  • @ManardGCrebs Remember that P.A weighed 137.9kg while Dr.Squat only weighed 100kg. That's 83lb/37.9kg on Dr.Squat. Paul anderson ain't no dr.squat.

  • I remember the first time I squatted 1k pounds, that was a good day.

  • In 20 year they will be deadlifting 1000lbs for 5 reps!

  • Not the first 1000 lbs. squat.

  • thumbs down as its not eh first 1000lbs squat

  • HOLY JESUS.

    That was nothing for him....

  • Has anyone noticed these are two pieces of footage stitched together? Not sure why the video creator switched to a different close up shot and then switched back to the original. Notice how the background and spotter change in the closeup.

  • @AmusingYeti did you notice how the footage came back when he was going back up?

  • AMAZING SPEED!!!

  • Misinformation abounds. First true grand squat, in a judged powerlifting meet was performed by Dave Waddington.

  • 1,000 lb squat BYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

  • heck yeah he can do more then that he did that lift pretty easy :)

  • i wouldnt mess with rainbow shirt over there.

  • is it me or is the short stocky guys who are the best squaters?

  • @cleveland33cm yes bc of less range of motion :)

  • @steroidsR4losingfags Are you the only guy that is behind all these anti-steroids accounts, or is there a whole pathetic team of you guys that have full-time jobs preaching anti-steroid nonsense on every weightlifting-related youtube video?

If so, how much do you get paid? I'm pro-steroids but I wouldn't mind talking shit on the internet if I'm getting paid well.

  • @steroidsR4losingfags what the fuck? are u retarded? it wat way does what you just said make any sense as to what i said? how is it even related??

  • @Bishiup Only losing faggots take steroids and drugs. They like sucking each others cocks and doing drugs. Shooting their loads in each other mouths and shooting up on drugs.

  • @cleveland33cm your correct

  • What the fuck! He accelerated with 1000 lbs. I didn't see any sticking point that was obvious...he could have done even more.

    Respect!

  • @mohammad112388 I would still have respect for him even if he didn't get the squat. Any man who puts 1,000 pounds on their back is fucking crazy!

  • @mohammad112388 If memory serves, it was more than 1000 pounds, something like 1035 or 1055.

  • First? Go Google Paul Anderson, bro. He did it without a warm up, drugs, wraps, or 'roids. Educate yourself on iron history.

  • @Paripovich fuck off

  • @bretchet23 Suck my dick after you go educate yourself on iron game history.

  • @Paripovich Jim Wendler did it first.

  • @helioseismologyNutswinger

  • worst filming ever. we basically missed the lift because the camera zoomed in on his face while he went down...................................

  • everyone dissing hatfield:try taking 1000lbs.off the rack and take 2 steps back.until then u have no right for an opinion.

  • only 385 pounds to go....

  • Pity they didn't just keep the same footage all the way through. At 9 seconds it looks like a totally different venue. You can see the sign in the background that is red and reads NATI whereas the rest of the clip it is in black and reads HAWAII

  • real men wear purple

  • @omarhjawaid lool at first i thought tht was a unicorn on his shirtt

  • @MacMaraScott I think that you mean is he a real doctor. Dr. Squat is alive and well and yes, he has a Ph.d, which makes him a "doctor", but not MD. He started ISSA a company to get certified as a trainer and is very well educated. His books, although boring to read at times, are full of info.

  • I still have no idea why his femoral joints don't shoot through his pelvis...

  • Now THAT'S a full squat. Bravo!

  • @flononag actually it didnt if u watch rly closely

  • jesus even the spotters need spotters

  • THE ONLY GUY WHO CAN WEAR A PURPLE SHIRT WITH A RAINBOW ON IT AND STILL LOOK FUCKING BADASS!!!!

  • This is real, the back ground did not change. This is fred Hatfield, one of the greatest powerlifters of all time.

  • so clean!

  • Dr squat haha

  • btw, i never said i doubted it. It just doesn't look like it adds up in my mind. That's all i'll say,and please everyone stop, stop!, commenting on my post. I keep getting inbox messages over and over. Thanks!

  • Hatfield was not the first to do an official 1000lbs squat....Moran was. Hatfield was much lighter though

  • We're seeing two different lifts here, no question about it.

  • FAKE!!!!

  • I just can squat 225.....

  • for everyone that says that the background changes, it doesnt change, its just another camera angle close up from below..

  • @Dimka2 You are joking right

  • Btw, there is no way that's 1000lbs. There's only 6 45's on each side and the bar looks to be a standard 45lbs. That would be 270lbs +270lbs+45lbs=595lbs. in total. um... a tad short of 1000lbs, and btw the backround is totally different when he squats

  • @mmarano869

    *Sigh*

Powerlifters aren't limited to 45 pound plates. 100 pound plates can be found at gyms across the nation, and at every single powerlifting meet.

As to the background - look at the lower sign from when it is zoomed out. Don't know if that one or one higher up is what we see in the close up shot (angle is upwards) but that should help you out.

Finally, this is a historic squat with hundreds of witnesses and tapes from multiple angles. Nobody in lifting questions it.

  • @tgtennis from the size of the weights they are not 100lbs. and if they are 100lbs that would mean he is squating 1245lbs..

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, competition plates are made of denser metal, and the guy behind him is the same guy the whole time.

  • @ReignzOfBrainz you didn't answer me saying that they were 100lbs and 6 on each side? It still doesn't add up. Look at the color of the t-shirts behind the guy as he squats. When he is squatting the guy behind him is in a maroon shirt? Nobody is wearing that color in the original starting squat position.

  • @ReignzOfBrainz No, it's not. The guy behind him is someone different at 22 seconds, even the sign behind him is different. Look again.

  • @mmarano869

It's standard for gold plates to be 100 pounds (45 kgs or so) and visually there is often little difference when observed at a distance. I've been at two gyms that had 100 pound plates with little or no coloring, and they don't stand out as being huge compared to the standard 45's with the "lip" design. Thicker and not so hollow but it isn't a glaring difference at a glance.

This is extremely common knowledge - records across the world are dissected, nobody doubts this one.

  • @mmarano869

Honestly, I was shocked that you doubted this - then I looked lower and noticed several other posters who also apparently know very little about this subject and are inclined to doubt the veracity of this squat. Suffice to say that, in the strength training world, accusing Hatfield of faking squats based on scattered video footage makes considerably less sense than 9/11 truthers. 100's of witnesses, pictures (you can find them elsewhere) and videos from a good org support this

  • @mmarano869 Look carefully. Maroon shirt guy came from the right of the video, behind white shirt guy on the far left. He only switched his position during the concentric part of the squat. Basically, to standby to offer support if Dr. Squat can't make it. I thought that was obvious enough.

  • Is this raw or is he wearing a suit?

  • Haha. That looked so fake. Im 16 and i squat 350. I weigh 164 lbs :)

  • I'm not seeing 1000 pounds. Looks like 7-8 plates on each side, maybe 700-750 but not 1000. All the plate look to be the same width. Are some of them 100lbs each and the others 45lbs?

  • thats was so nuts that i want deaf geast from watching

  • kinda looks like bob form thats 70's show

  • - im sure his one piece of shit is heavier than my 1RM

  • Sorry, though it's a nice 1000+lb squat it ain't the FIRST passed in competition!! That distinction belongs to Dave Waddington. 1st 1000+lb squat ATTEMPT in competition was Jo White.

  • @best496

That guy was joking lol -.- look at the last thing he says, did he really die LOL that's sweet.

  • @1968bigcity

If you weren't an idiot trying to prove this fake you'd realize his sleeve doesn't go up, it just moves a little, and the guy in the purple shirt walks over. Fucking idiot.

  • If you notice at 10 sec. when the camera angle changes his right arm (left hand side of screen) where his sleeve is, is unrolled but at the beginning of the film its rolled up and at the end, plus the guy thats in the 10 sec.shot looks like a purple shirt he has on,where is he in the other parts of the video, if its a like 10 sec. lift where is he hmmn.

  • @1968bigcity Why bother dude? Just stop being a douche and appreciate the lift

  • @rileymcpl cause i want to know if im watching something real or bullshit thats why douche and dont write back in a month i know your slow but come on. GOOF.....

  • @1968bigcity You have sick chirps

  • Dr. Squat was a big mofo.

  • Dr.Squat haha

  • Nice squat

  • I hate how you virtually always need a spotter in weightlifting.

  • @theresidentone not if you know wtf you're doing and don't attempt 1RM. you don't need to test 1RM to gain strength.

  • @theresidentone id hate to attempt 1000lbs without a spotter lol

  • Listen up NON-USAPL powerlifting federations, this is how a squat is done.

  • For the people trashing 13andincrediblycut. I once saw a video of him squatting 2000 lbs. And the background changed, so you know it was legite.

  • @Polarcupcheck actually he could never do the things he claimed to be able to do and he never squatted 2000 pounds. he closed his account and killed himself a month ago because he was a worthless loser with no life

  • thats a squat........

  • Why does the scene change when he squats? It's a totally different building...This is an edited video.

  • @Cambria2007

    NO, THE BACKGROUND DIDN'T CHANGE.

  • @Draykid It did change...

  • Fred Hatfield is just the man PERIOD. Squatted 1,000 with a loose belt while wearing a purple shirt with a rainbow and a dolphin on it with a receding hairline. Just get the fuck off him.

  • @aznclownwithabigdick Epic fucking comment man!!! wish i could give it 5 thumbs up!!

  • @Zeuzz

    haha thanks bud

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting this. Do any of you remember misc.weights.fitness and the like? Dr Hatfield used to be on those in the mid-90s, and I remember him saying that he forgot to fasten his weight belt for this lift. Sure enough, look at that, it's loose! Also, it looks like he could've lifted another 50lbs for sure.

  • Fred your the Man Deep and single ply-Shit today's suits have a 300+ carry over what a joke! The Leviathan has ruined the sport just ridiculous what guys or girls are getting and then the bullshit federations that pass squats 5 inches high where is this sport going. Raw has to be the future

  • Thats 450kg..... Holy s....!

  • now this is a real squat

  • who needs monolifts? dr squat sure doesnt

  • OMG

  • a proper squat, not like todays half attempts

  • @GaoRenEUMGO Still with the aid of drugs though, sadly.

  • @13andincrediblycut steroids are for dedicated elite athletes. you are a pussy troll on the interwebs. u mad u cant even bench 2 plates?

  • @benchfordeath Hey, soo hows it goin over at Scooby's?

  • hahaha fuckin beastttt

  • i bet he cant run a marathon as quick as me

  • @diddyxxxx1

As I recall in one of Dr Squats books from the 80s (which I am pretty sure I still have somewhere here), he said something along the lines of: running is for pencil necks.

  • i would shit myself

  • i like how the background changes when he is going down:)

  • @flononag the background didnt change

  • @flononag never notice that now i'm wondering about the squat

  • that was too easy! add another 100lbs!!!

  • heyyyyy! i did something like this once.... just without all the extra zeros in the number.

  • yea im 146 years young and my best squat is 8000 pounds raw

my great grand daughter who is 12 does 1200 pounds first thing in the morning before her ready brek

  • @jonafromwales well im 13 only and i can squat 614lbs raw ass to the grass no suit no pads, straps, nothing. no straPS! :)

  • @INTIMEFILMPRODUCTION Thanks! Taht's my dream! X

  • @13andincrediblycut yeah, the other day my car got a flat tire and i couldnt be bothered getting my jack out so i just held the car up with my left arm while i undid all the bolts and changed the wheel.

  • @gt3510 Foooo reeeal?

  • @13andincrediblycut Everybody, disregard any inormation coming out of 13andincrediblycut's mouth. These ridiculous statements are just to attract people to HER pathetic channel. Fuckin loser. Do you really need youtube people looking at your videos to make you feel better. Sad.

  • @13andincrediblycut I'm 13 and can Squat 2000 lbs raw. You lose

  • @gt3510 hahahahah good stuff

  • @13andincrediblycut man ur a little bitch just talking shit on peoples videos saying u can lift more. weak ass pussy emo kid, go jack off to ur anime porn u fucken troll. bitch ass claiming u can lift when u have no videos to prove it.

  • @KidunstopableDMK Well you should grow a brain before you even both replying to any thing I say, bud. ;)

  • @13andincrediblycut Wow. Aside from the complete BULLSHIT lifts you claim to do, you also claim this on your profile:

"i can also do karate, ju jitsu, martial arts, tae kwon do, boxing, wrestling, brazilian ju jitson, muay thai, armwrestling, sprinting, hurdling, backflips, wall climbing and even ONE arm rope climbing!!!! :)))) PLUS i can fish really good....and i can also COOK food too. :))))"

I cannot believe how much shit you spew out over the internet. You definitely have no friends.

And every thing on my profile is 100% true. :P

  • @13andincrediblycut ahahahahahahah

  • @watchingyourvid What's so funny? :P

  • @13andincrediblycut your a fucking FAGGOT

  • @squeaky92 You hurt him bad with your comments lol. He dropped his acount. Nice work :)

  • @squeaky92 You idiot, he is trolling.

  • @tempac91 Unsuccessfully, I ripped him apart so bad he deleted his account. A GOOD troll causes infinite rage among tons of people with minimal intervention. This guy overdid it.

  • @squeaky92 No he actually can, I've seen him to all these things with great expertise. He also watched all the lord of the rings movies in a row without going to the bathroom, eating, drinking, and he only blinked 3 times.

  • @bigj687

That's amazing, I can't watch those shit movies without puking.

  • @squeaky92 no hes just trolling some bit in his free time , goal of trolling is to piss ppl off wile remaining perfecly calm for the lulz
