You leave the old person behind..dead. You are now part of a new "kingdom" . No longer British, American, Argentine etc. You are a Prince/ess, heir to a new throne. Here, your job is to do as our Father tells us. You may be killed for it, but you will never kill for it. This will be strange at first, but you will learn to live it.

You've got a point and a very biblical one; St. Augustine is not scripture. However the principles of "Just War" have been embraced by all major theologians all through time. There is a difference between God's commands in scripture and the application of military force here today. Was Bush commanded by God to "Drink the Blood of Iraqis?" (Excuse my joke) I don't think Bush would even claim that. My main objection is we, as a nation, should constitutionally declare war if we deem war necessary

In order to be a good Christian, one must be a good American and follow a certain American way of life? Christianity has nothing to do with America except for the fact that we've butchered it.

Abortion is not murder of a child. Children are born. A mother is not a mother till after they give birth or adopt, and a child is not a child until their day of birth.

The united states acknowledges your first day of birth as the day you begin. That is the day you are given a name, a certificate of your existence, citizenship, and recognized as a separate human being as opposed to a collection of cells living inside of a person.

I speak to other woman on a daily basis.

Today I asked 3 women who were pregnant in the last year, and they said that they were asked "how are you doing?" while there were pregnant, and after they gave birth they are frequently asked how their baby is doing.

Its a small sample, but it 100% supports what makes sense in the United States society.

The US was founded 50 years before the cell was discovered. Nobody at this time believed 4+ divided cells in the body was a individual person.
