  • I don't think it's caused by blue eyes. It just happens in some people. I have blue eyes and I can't do it. I've tried a bizillion times. BTW- It's called the photic sneeze reflex. I read it in a book in the 7th grade and it's been a topic of my interest ever since. I just discovered my boyfriend has it. He didn't know what it was until I told him about it. Before he thought that the sun didn't like the dust particles in his nose! :P

  • do you have blue eyes? I wonder if its related to blue eyes.. I have blue eyes and I sneeze if i look anywhere near the sun.

  • I first thought you were Simon Pegg...I watched again, and thought the same thing again.

  • I have this too!!!---I thought I was crazy...now I know that I just have crossed signals in my brain---anyways, I love sneezing---it is like a cranial orgasm.

  • hahaha i have to sneeze when i eat chocolate!!

  • ive always had this... i find it to be a problem

  • I sneeze when I look at the sun too!

  • photosensitive.my optician told me i was.

  • About 25% of people do actually sneeze when exposed to bright lights like the sun. We do not know exactly why this happens, but it might reflect a "crossing" of pathways in the brain, between the normal reflex of the eye in response to light and the sneezing reflex. There is no apparent benefit from "sun-sneezing", and it probably is nothing more than an unimportant holdover of evolution.

  • @adlereagle123

Wow what a clear intelligent comment...

    Thank you

  • @GoodShipDenton haha your welcome, nd i sneeze whenever I look at the sun too tho haha ^-^

  • @adlereagle123 It's a good way to get out a sneeze that's too stubborn to come out. (The sneezes that just pass but still leave that congested feeling)

I know....I look at a light when I need to get it out. When I really need it out, I'll look at a high intensity light.

  • @shrodu hahaha nice , thats pretty cool. I do the same thing too lol

  • @adlereagle123 Yeah, but it only happens like...once or twice. After that, it won't work.

  • @shrodu yeah its like that for me too. Idk it happens. I just sneeze 3 or 2 times in a row and then after that, I won't sneeze again.

  • @adlereagle123 actually 10%

  • kekkei genkai right here. we're people with special powers LOL

  • i used to do this all the time when i was little...sniffing in sunshine and sneezing it out again.....used to try and teach my friends to do it too.... got blamed by one of them after they developed hayfever.....apparently it was my fault ......

  • i seem to have mild allergies, so my nose is stuffed on some days. i have the photic sneeze reflex too. apparently it is only found in 25-15% of humans (mostly whites). sneezing at the sun is welcome at times to clear out my nose!

  • happens to me.. i love it.. except when there are people around and try to avoid it

  • Same.. both sunlight and artificial light

  • I do the same thing. were unique

  • This happens to me too, l got up to seven sneezes in a row looking at the sun. Good fun :D

  • its called sun sneezer but i call it sun sniffer cos every time i look at the sun i hav to sniff som air (or sun light) lol

  • This sneeze reflex also can be brought on by sudden inhalation of cold air or exposure to strong flavors. This implies an overstimulation of any nerve close to the trigeminal nerve can cause the sneeze reflex

  • @FuNnYBoNeTiCklEs nice copy and pasting skills mate...just read that word for word on another site...

  • That happens to me too! Whenever I look for a good sneeze, I just look for the sun! lol

  • u don't have to look at it it(the sun) just has to hit your retina ..

  • I dont need to stare at the sun, just take a look at it for 5sec.. Then Ill sneeze sooner or later, two times, and sometimes a third one.. Classmates thinks Im a vampire, lol ;)

  • I do this too. Close up, even light bulbs can trigger a violent sneeze.

  • I always sneeze twice when I first go outside on a sunny day and the sun hits hy eyes...never once or three times....always twice. So strange.

  • i got da same

  • I've read about photic sneeze reflex. You sneeze when exposed to bright light...

I sneeze when I look at the sun, but not by other kinds of light... Does that mena I have or have not got photic sneeze reflex?

  • yea

    I have it too

but it only occurs in sunlight

  • me too when i look at the sun i sneeze

  • Happens to me too, when i walk outside i sneeze like 3 times. If im inside and its dusty i only sneeze once

  • My best friend does that and I think its so funny!

  • I have the same thing.

  • My whole family does this. It's genetic. It's funny to listen to us after we come out of a dark store together. For us it's just a harmless, humorous quirk.

  • haha

    i could imagine that

me and my sister have it and we sound or look crazy enough when we go outside

especially becuase we sneeze like 3-4 times each consecutively

  • photic sneeze I have it too

  • photic sneeze reflex

  • the sun makes me sneez

  • There is anecdotal evidence for a link between Aspergers and extreme sensitivity to colour (synaethesia) and light (photic sneezing). There is also a link with eye inflamations, such as keratitis.

  • After I had Iritis I found that when I move from dark into the light I sneeze! This came more apparent when I was in Egypt last year. Chilling in the shade only to step out into the sun I would sneeze; which always hurts due to Ankylosing Spondylitis. But I found that when I look directly at the sun I sneeze straight away, which then bizarrely lets me look at the sun for longer and doesnt hurt my eyes and looks like a shiny disk, and has bizarrely helped condition myself for painful sneezing.

  • be careful its going to burn your white bum!
