call me an old fart or not ,but i seen big country 4 times live in the 80`s and on there day they where awesome live.i have seen hundreds of bands and i would put them up there with the best .RIP stu.
Well, it seems that Stu's second wife was a total bitch who pushed him over the edge; she filed for divorce some time before he killed himself & she was obviously trying to get a good divorce settlement, no matter how big should Stu's pain & distress be over this. She didn't give a damn about Stu's probs with alcohol as she was busy trying to rip him off big time....I'm sorry to say this, but women can be total shits sometimes, American women even more so.

I LOVE this song, and after many years have again remembered the great songs of Big Country that me and my mates used to listen to at university. Now with the power of the internet it's great to find out how they made the unique quitar sound, though also, sadly, to find out of Stuart's passing. His music will live on and now I live in Edinburgh it's great to see how well loved they were. One of the great Scottish bands.
If only there was someone to help Stuart...my God,what a talented, handsome man.....I was devastated when he left us....he never left a note for his wife and kid either...he must have been
if my memory serveds me right steuart adamson but this band together in six weeks scouring the country, i also agree totally under rated so love 13 valleys and save me
it is so amazing when the 80s were here everyone thought the groups were shit now we realize how good they were and talented even wrote and played there own music unlike now
I'm prepared to admit that I was wrong back then to write off a lot of the groups of the era as crap. But no way will I have a change of heart in 20 years' time about most of the poisonous scum that pollutes the charts of today. They are and always will be garbage, pure and utter garbage
I wish I hadn't watched that video now. ruins a great song. Just hope i can get the image of the shit dancing and Stuart's pouch out of my head when listening again
Overlord1841, ask your aunt to please say "hi" to Mark for us and that we love him. That's cool that you are related to him, even by the marriage of your aunt.
I've felt a bit like St. Peter who betrayed Christ ever since I was at a small venue in the late 90's (the River Club) with BC playing and I just stood around chatting up girls. This despite they were the biggest single influence on my life in the 80's. Now I am so sorry, Stuart RIP
oh dear me MITH..for your sake..metaphorically get your head out of your arse.. why compare..nothing is new..their all ours.all great..who cares..its love love love..to quoth donovan..aye he's ours too
Runrig formed in 1973, but were quite different in the early days. Came out of their concern for preserving their native tongue if I remember correctly. The 'Play Gaelic' album is wonderful and came out in 1978.
As an aside, I crashed my car because of this Big Country song. Sad but true. Was too busy trying to justify to my wife buying the 12" version to notice the car in front of me had stopped.
This song was the first one i heard from this wonderful band , and many other fantastic song swere to come !... It 's such a shame they did not get the recognition they deserved ! To me , they were the best band ever !!!!
just to let everyone know that this is one of my favourite classics from Big Country .. i remember buying this way back .. and to this day it still sounds amazing ... !!!
mark being one of the best drummers of all time.. and of course His singing .. bass just brilliant ... in a word ... fantastic .....
RIP Stuart, but jesus massive knackers there, fella!

What an awesome band Big Country were-TOTALLY UNDER RATED. Stuart Adamson was an exceptionally nice, modest and humble man. He is greatly missed

Most underrated of the 80's IMO, and I am being serious! He was a great songwriter, and that bass player GOOD LORD! He was so damn good too.
