  • America doesn't make modern boats like Beneteau and Jeanneau, do they?

  • @IchiTrois Beneteau's ARE built in the USA. I'm not sure I understand your question.

  • @YachtSalesWestCanada

Yes that is true, but it is still French design. Off the top of my head there's American companies like Tartan and Hinckley. While innovative in materials and construction they are classic in design, yes? I don't want to mention Catalina or Hunter because they look like they come from the 80s. Modern boats like the Oceanis and Sense series, does America produce something similar is what I was getting at

  • @IchiTrois What I understand is that by "modern" you are referring to design. The look of Beneteau, Jeanneau, Dufour, Grand Soleil, among others, is the French design style. Although Catalina has become very refined in recent years when compared to their designs of the '80's, they have never strayed far into certain design trends. Their success as a builder and company shows for it. What are your thoughts on the style of C&C yachts?

  • @YachtSalesWestCanada

Yes, the modern trend of sharp entry, wide aft, large cockpits, chines, dbl wheels, etc. The Tartan 4000 is close to this while keeping to classic design. C&Cs are performance oriented, not exactly leisure cruisers and I would much prefer a J Boat in that category, although myself I own a First 40.7. It would be nice to see trend setting modern design coming from the States. They seem to be stuck in the cookie-cutter phase both in exterior and interior.

  • very nice upload- thank you very much!
