  • I have 5 plastic gears running my Atlas turntable, and no rubber band.

  • if you dont want to deal with the belt they also have one fully geared im useing it for a g scale turn table so hold up quite well but its item number is 301 but sadly the gears are plastic

  • Could an HO scale Berkshire fit on it?

  • @indie1361 if it is any longer then an HO Athearn SD70M, SD70Ace, SD60 and so on. Then, no. Those are teh absolute largest it can handle, even those just barley fit.

  • Nice vid I bought a used one with no rubber band could u tell me were I could find one or do u have an extra one I could buy for a cheap price

  • @loganator78r look at atlases website, or google it,i now that they sell spares. you just have to look around a little.

  • @drewzdrew27 Thanks

  • Also, what is the grey piece of plastic between the turntable and the roundhouse?

  • @MachRacer4 Not sure, but my guess is your talking about the provided base. the structure sits on.

  • How deep are the stalls of the roundhouse? I ask because I am looking at getting two of the roundhouse kits and the turntable for use with my smaller steam engines.

  • @MachRacer4 i dont know the exact measurement, but i know the turntable can handle most 6 axle diesel locos. Like the Athearn Genesis SD70, SD70Ace. and RTR sd-45t2, CW44-9. they fit in the stall tracks, but not behind the doors.

  • Can this turntable be used with dcc?

  • @dep92 Concerning the track, yes I do believe it is DCC compatible. You may be able to Put a decoder on the motor as well, that you would need to research.

  • @drewzdrew27 I once saw a show on the DIY channel called Working on the Railroad and they had an Atlas turntable modified with a DCC equipped turntable motor. It is just a matter of figuring out what decoder wires are soldered to what parts of the turntable motor.

  • @MachRacer4 sounds like a project may want to investigate!

  • is it ho or n scale ?

  • @riemck This specific one is HO Scale. I believe they have an N scale version available which should be identical.

  • How did you attach wires to the roundhouse tracks for power? I need to do this with mine because engines are going to be inside of it.

  • @knightbob81 for the roundhouse stalls i connected each track to an atlas "connector" which is like a on/off toggle switch, and the atlas Connect goes directly to the track bus power line.

  • @drewzdrew27 I literally meant how did you put the wire to the metal track. like did you solder them on? If so where did you attach them from and how?

  • @knightbob81 ohhh, so as the instructions say there are three diffrent sized pieces of track you use. so i bought pre-soldered rail joiners. put the metal tab in the inside of the track , cover it with electrical tape. the repeat with the other side.

  • If the turntable is in the middle of a loop (part of the main track), where the bus goes out of the Atlas controllers, would you have the bus branch in two, one going to the turntable and the other around the normal route of track?

  • @KnapfordMaster98 yes you would need to split the bus line whether in a loop or not. the turntable track is isolated from all tracks leading to it.

  • Cool, I am going to be putting mine in a couple months probably. Maybe earlier but that depends on work.

  • is the turntable suppose to come with screws to screw down the motor and does the motor come with a cord that connects to the transformer?

  • well the turntable i got came with alot screws and i believe that the ones for the motor where in there. but the it did not come with a chord for the transformer, what i did there was cut off the end that would normally go to the track and connect it to the motor.

  • Mine just came with the turntable and the crank. I guess I just got ripped off pretty bad. I did a video about it if you can tell me if I hooked it up the right way?

  • I must have a really old turntable because I am going to have to self power the track

  • Is that motor belt driven? The one I bought years ago was gear driven and it was really loud.

  • yea, it is belt driven, it still can be loud though.

  • Awesome!
