  • I thought Ron Paul did an awesome job of playing Gollum in the LOTR movies...

  • And here is why nobody should be coming on YouTube and screaming "RON PAUL 2012". The dude is a liar and Cenk exposed it a long time ago. Ron Paul wants to end Social Security (3:56) even though we have a 2.4 trillion dollar surplus. Ron Paul says that it's broke and has failed. That is the lie. If he can blatantly lie about something so big, what else is he lying about? The answer is: EVERYTHING. He's a bigot and a liar.

  • @ShogaNinja The surplus is only when you do it over time. Even right now, today, social security is paying out more money than it takes in with taxes. I think we should do everything possible to save the system though. It can be saved, but ending the wars and the endless military spending has to happen before any progress can be made with SS.

  • Let them CENK themselves...GOP=Open mouth, insert foot...Amazing GOP logic=Amazingly obvious outcome...Just...Amazing...

  • Ron paul is a wacko Obama 2012!

  • sounds like Cenk ask straight forward questions.

  • i thought this old guy was great because in some videos he talks against the war and especially the evil financial system, but now im hearing that tsome of the fundamental rights of a civil country(i.e. education and health care) are negated!! OMG and such a man would be permitted to be president of the united states? Well, u know after Bush im not surprised anymore, all is possible in this country inhabited by morons. BTW a lot of respect goes to the host, this is how a journalist should do!!!

  • Ron Paul Put His Foot Into His Own Mouth, and he did this by saying that "Both partys are at fault and that we need to cut over sees spending." So what is your point?

  • @gunniesack Idiot. He put his foot in his mouth by saying that we need less of a budget and less spending at once, when what we need to do is maximize spending to maximize inflation, so corporations and education systems can't take advantage of poorer people. We need to get rid of paper currency, what we need is a card that has digits on it and that is our money (seriously, gold wastes the gold supply and paper wastes trees). Stupid libertarian loons.

  • @masterskyrunner If you devalue the currency the amount of money people are paid is effectively reduced while staying the same while markets adjust prices. In your plan the middle class is wiped out and other markets are left relatively unchanged, particularly the institutions you sought to punish in the first place. But since that's the direction we're going in as a country anyway you will get to see it for yourself so don't take my word for it.

  • Nice

  • Ron Paul has been shouting about bankruptcy and inflation for decades. It keeps not happening. The funny thing is that he believes this because of an economic doctrine formulated over a century ago which, even at the time, was warning of the same thing, and it has never happened. Market cycles have gotten easier and crisis fewer with regulation, contrary to his ideology.

The Fed sets inflation targets, usually at 3% a year, and they hit it every time. They know exactly what they're doing.

  • @jessemaurais Exactly this fear mongering by the right is insane

  • @jessemaurais of course. ron paul is an IDEOLOGUE, theorist & fruitcake. all libertarians are. they're the direct spiritual & ideological descendants of the nutty religious extremists who fled civilization & came to this country looking for "religious" freedoms in the 17th C. they're still running from civilization. all they've done is exchanged one batshit, extremist, unprovable, antyi-social ideology for another.

  • Cenk is the man

  • TYT Army going Strong!

  • Is it me, or is Cenk Uygur is wearing Sky-Blue eye shadow?

  • Cenk is awesome but he wasnt born in the US so he cant be president unfortunately

  • Cenk for president!

  • ron paul just bullshits his way through arguments with noob rhetoric and scare words like inflation and the dollar.

  • @igotscamed1

lol true, but that's what his austrian/libertarian ideology teaches even if its baseless

  • if the choose was between Obama and Paul ...i would take Cenk any day of the week

  • Forget Ron Paul, Cenk should run for President

  • This was a good interview. Good questions, good interviewee, no shoving words in one another's mouth.

  • Ron Paul is wrong on one thing: inflation is somewhere near 3%, hardly considered a runaway inflation. But he's right: we gotta damn get rid of outta control military spending

  • @iseeallforme What's wrong with 3% inflation? What's wrong with the piddling military spending we've got. How is it out of control?

  • Welfare states fail because the powerful wage war against it, so they can take a bigger piece of the pie.

  • @Alecal892

Welfare states are pretty successful. I'm an anarcho-socialist and even I admit that. I think we can always do better but there is no denying that socially democratic or socially liberal welfare states are the most successful in the world by utilitarianistic standards, by average wage, by life expectancy, etc.

  • haha the right to take care of yourselves...

    a slight social darwinistic tendency.

  • @khoroshoorange slight?

    Rather extreme.

  • Ron Paul: Educated idiot. He's right about the military though......

  • Sooo, which country has food riots because of American Fiat currency? Is he doing a madlib?

  • ron paul: biggest douche in DC

  • @BobMarley211 And explain to the crowd why you believe that RP is a douche. Convince us with your beliefs.

  • Cenk Uygur vs. Ron Paul... funny.

  • Cenk eats "Fair & Balanced" for breakfast.

  • Paul problem, and the whole libertarian philosophy, is that it puts too much trust in voluntary altruism...its just nonsensical the way they maintain this dark world view all the way thru concerning government agents until it apply to people doing what they want with their own money, then magically people are magnanimous creatures.

  • @carlo88moe I agree. I just can't wrap my head around how he figures the spoiled youth of today is going to be bothered to take care of their parents in their old age. Everything else he says is quite logical, his only weakness being he places far too much faith in humanity to do the right thing.

  • I think Ron Paul's own interviewing habits sort of reflected badly on him here. What he said wasn't irrelevant, I just think that he is so used to trying to force his message through hosts that ask irrelevant questions that he answered Uygur's questions quite badly.

  • You now see the dark side of Ron Paul. I've lived in the pre medicare days. I can tell you first hand how hard it is for families to take care of elderly parents\ grand parents and provide for their own families needs at the same time. That's dumping a big pile of poverty onto folks who were already poor. That's the good old days he and his supporters want to go back to.

  • Mo'ron Paul

  • I don't even like TYT much, but Ron Paul and his supporters are some of the most insane and fanatical in this election. It's like they run around as a mob doing nothing but disliking legitimate arguments against them and just agree with each other repeatedly. Who was the last crazy president to come out of Texas? Which fool embarrassed our country for two terms? Exactly. History repeats through insanity.

  • You're gonna have riots in the streets if you cut S.S. & medicare! lol

  • Where the hell do these libertarian wackos come from? all these stupid and amoral views on deregulation, no income tax and welfare were tried during the Victorian era Americans really are going back in time following these nutcase politicians

  • "I want to give you the freedom to look after yourself"

    WTF

  • Ron Paul: Building a Bridge to the Nineteenth Century

  • Why is he blabbering irrelevantly about the dollar and digressing from the topic?

  • Dr.Paul has a good sense of Foreign Affairs but not so on domestic affairs.

  • CAIN 2012

  • @dewerbylhserf Cain??? Seriously? Elaborate please!

  • Ron Paul is right on war, but wrong on absolutely everything else. He has absolutely no understanding at all of our monetary system. Ron Paul would throw us into an unnecessary depression. Can't vote for him.

  • also is it just me or did kenk put on eye shadow lmao. hot.

  • Yasmine Bleeth

  • By Ron Paul's own words he wants to repeal Rowe v. Wade and allow regressive states to determine what rights women and gays can have. If America embraced the politics of Ron Paul during the Abolition era, Slavery would still exist in the USA.

    FUCK RON PAUL

  • @xephyr1000 That was dumb... that's all I have to say.. You're comparing abortion and being gay to slavery???? Are you saying they are just as bad? Though I agree that Ron Paul should not win; abortions and gay rights are the least of our problems right now, or, at least they would be, if we made a couple simple decisions regarding the two....

  • On planet Ron Paul if breathing oxygen was unconstitutional he would ban it... There is NO intelligent application of why the constitution is there (for the OVERALL BENEFIT). He is a nasty batshit crazy lunatic... Demand your freedom to die people - vote Ron Paul.... BTW the way the non rich people 'do it themselves' is THROUGH GOVERNMENT.

  • i just want to know what ron paul would do to insure old people and people with disabilities don't starve to death or become homeless when he ends social security and medicare. he never seems to go into that when he's interviewed. the military budget should be cut and the wars should especially be ended

  • @ngv03 People take care of themselves. All that money that they put into social security would be in their pockets rather than sent to the government. Charities and individuals will help those who can not take care of themselves. He also argues the moral point that people don't have to right to other people's money and services. His points are usually a fusion between morals and practicality.

  • @kairu35 When people talk like this it always comes down to the same sentiment "i dont want to pay for anyone else"...i take huge moral issue with that as you promote as system which is every man for himself. We are a society. The whole reason we HAVE social security was so that we could get away from the need to rely on churches and charities

  • @ngv03 Here another interesting concept. What would happen to social security and medicare when your country runs out of money?

  • Wait, MSNBC and Cenk now like it when people are angry at Town Hall meetings about Medicare, SS, and Medicaid but when people were angry about having to pay more in the healthcare bill, they're violent racists. Cool story MSNBC and Cenk.

  • I'm ashamed of the comments here. Is honesty really that crazy to you? He's not trying to hurt anyone or serve a selfish/career politician agenda.

  • pwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnned

  • Ron Paul is off his rocker and the only thing I heard him say that made sense was the ''spending on warfare'' reference. US is involved in too many conflicts abroad.

  • Ronnie has really run down the "watch-spring" between his ears.

    "The food riots will come"?

What about the aliens, when are they coming?

He says people don't understand what bankruptcy is?

He sure doesn't seem to have a definition of it, himself.

The only things that are getting cut are his chances of becoming a national leader.

But, he's got that "unconstitutional" pension to look forward to, right?

  • @heckler73 I think he actually opted out of the pension.
