I was wondering, and this has been bothering me for a while now, have you done a video talking about some of Mr.creepypastas videos, i'm assuming you have, since you definitley are one to recognize his type of videos, and if you have made a video that mentions about that kind of thing, I kindly ask you to point me to it, i'll still search though. As I said, it's been bothering me for a while. Thanks again. - kilsya1
Had never noticed how deep and interesting the chaos army was until recently. I was always a fan of eldar back in my day and that was primarily down to aesthetic reasoning. This relaunch sounds like it might be worth a check in.
Hey Brad! The Eldar were my very first 40K army! Started collecting the pointy-eared space hippies back in the grand old (and terribly confusing) days of Second Ed. Chaos was once very deep and rich; arguably one of the most detailed and various armies in 40K (which, considering how key to the background it is, makes sense). I honestly don't know what the Hell they were thinking with revent developments; separating daemons from chaos space marines? Moronic idea...
...it's never been done before, nobody wanted it; it's just a rather scurillous attempt to get chaos players to buy two armies instead of one. Ironically, many of the chaos players out there I know have shelved their armies since this took place (myself included). As a result, scrutiny of the up and coming "legions codex" will be very close indeed. We'll see whether or not GW can claw their way back :)
Yup, the prices are pretty abominable, which is why GW have to ensure they produce quality products, otherwise people will simply walk away, especially since they find themselves competing with other entertainment industries such as video games etc.
PS: I'll be picking up the MOTUC Demo-man that comes with the comic-style Skeletor head. I've also got a couple of Yamato Valkyries coming in soon. Are you into Macross at all?
boooo games workshop, have a look at privateer press warmachine/hordes or wyrd games malifaux. I think they are more evolved intuitive systems and designed for gamers with a little more sensibility, the fiction has a little more clout I think also.
also check out fantasy flights board game chaos in the world, a wonderful game in which you play one of the chaos gods, you would enjoy it with your love of of that corrupting of poor village types.
Hey there Leigh! I'm really more of a modeller, painter and collector than a gamer, though I do enjoy the odd skirmish. Never come across the Warmachines or Hordes systems before; I'll definitely have a look :) I must admit, I deeply dislike the way GW currently do business; not to sound too "back in my day" but I do seem to recall the entire enterprise being very different back in the early to mid 1990s, before it was such an enormous industry.
@ExaggeratedElegy I too seem to be more of a modeller, painter, collector and reader, I recommend having a look at privateer press and malifaux, the industry has moved along way while gw seems a bit stagnant. Both companies produce beautiful full colour books with original art works stories. Gaming is an odd thing, I find I enjoy the idea of gaming more so than the reality, I think many people are similar. It's the universe, the culture, it really captures me in wonderful way.
It is always fun when you grace us with your presence George. in fact, another visit is probably coming up sometime soon. In fact, we have out gig on the 9th December, so if your up for that, then please attend. I am considering doing a response video to Rays video too. Although I have already given my answer in a comment, I do feel perhaps it can be refined.
I think I can make the 9th, all being well. The only issues I currently have are arranging time off from all of my jobs at the same time :) Always, always a pleasure. In fact, I think I'm long overdue for a visit anyway. It's been quite a while!
That was probably one of the most wonderous Explanations of the Chaos Background i ever had the pleasure to listen to. I could listen to you talk about the Dark Warp Realms for hours.
Concerning the Dark Eldar, the new Dark eldar Megaforce Box is probably the best Starter Deal you will ever get. Must be out by on the 6th of December i believe.
Also, Slaanesh and Tzeentch is a nice pairing, but no love for Papa Nurgle? I am surprised.
Nah, we all know that Gork and Mork are the best. ;-)
Many thanks :) I did recently purchase the Dark eldar codex and was massively impressed. The elaboration of the background is wonderful (particularly love the Haemonculi) and the army list is bordering on the pristine. Very tempted by a Haemonculus force :)
I believe you must be excited senseless for Draego-man to come out in March?
There isn't any Botcon Deathsaurus vid seemingly on Youtube, which is quite a pity.
Is it any surprise concerning Games Workshop? To make a profit, they've got to phase out old armies to force players into re-moding their figs or buying new ones. That's what drove me away from WH and back into TFs. I still buy their army books___DEldars are wonderfully cheesy!
Nyaagh - I had just convinced myself not to ask for a playstation or xbox for christmas but your description of Skyrim might have just tipped me back over the edge.
I am worried I will become addicted to Skyrim and get shit grades and stop doing art in my free time...
I know I may sound like an idiot asking you to see this, you probably will not like it, but out of my own sick desire for you to pull out the rant hat, have you heard of minecraft? If you have not, it might interest you to research it, it's a largely popular pc game about creating stuff, but what's interesting is what people make. But after all my whorish askings, I wish a great Xmas to you.
I've heard of Minecraft, but I've never sat down to play it. I've seen some of the wikld and wacky creations that others have made from it here on YouTube; I love the creativity of it all. No probs concerning the requests; gives me some material to work with :) A very happy Christmas to you!
hey george, i could listen to uou talk about the chaos marines all day lol. my brother used to be into warhammer 40,000 and he was damn good at painting them. do they still make space hulk as i took my girlfriend to a a gw shop and couldnt see anything? im a big fan of the warhammer 40.000 mythos and i thing i still have some terminator lightning claws knocking about somewhere. going to try and see if my girlfriend fancies a game of space crusade as that was easy to get into for a newbie
Funnily enough, there was a re-release of Space Hulk last year, I believe; all with MASSIVE new plastic Terminators (they are HUGE), new Tyranid creatures, scenarios etc. It's awesome fun; easily one of the best games GW have released for years.
Space Crusade! Good God, I originally got into GW through that and Heroquest :)
I remember i played Warhammer once. I tried raising a Tyranid army. But when i lost to a complete newbie who was using the school's army, i lost my love for the game ^^;
Ah, the Tyranids! Tricky army to play; they have very little armour or tank busting ability, but when they get up close...gah. I've got some books and stuff on other 40K forces (background books and stuff like that) if you fancy having a look! BTW, finished the second Hunger Games; blown away! This is just a wonderful series. Many thanks for introducing me to it.
@ExaggeratedElegy Yeah, i never could get close enough ^^; I think i chose them simply for how gruesomely deadly they looked. And yeah, i'd like a look. BTW i found a trailer for the Hunger Games film a few days ago. It looks amazing, check it out if you get a chance.
glad you're enjoying skyrim, I'm so far in i've had to start over just to try and get a handle on what i want to be or what i'm trying to do, it seems every 10-15 steps i end up starting a major quest and getting involved in a complex story of some kind.
